of everything in the SOP though, if you put all the wokeness aside. I can't believe how incredibly boring and bad DA:V looks, it was running terribly, the gameplay was just boring basically no hit reactions, just numbers going down, The voice acting and setpiece was lousy.

I can't believe they are shipping that game and it hasn't returned to reassess. Even the editor of the trailer got bored and had to just make random jump cuts in the footage.

I dont mind playing as female characters. Im playing and enjoying star wars outlaws right now. i played as a girl in avatar. I love Lara in tomb raider. I just hate protagonist switches. the first game was successful because they had a likable protagonist. It was a breath of fresh air coming just weeks off of TLOU2 where both ellie and abby acted like mean old angry birds. Now I bet you anything they will turn her into an angry vengeful bitch just like they did Ellie, Abby and Aloy in HFW.

If i dont like it, the twitter and reddit mob sure as hell isnt. it's such a needless change and it will dominate the discourse long after the game launches. just stupid.

this just means female warrior, not samurai, they definitely weren't dual wielding katana's, most of them were trained with spears/glaives.
Onna bugeishi would be the closes to a "female samurai", and some clans had female daimyo's, but I don't think there's ever been a documented case of a female ronin.

Jin was boring as hell. Best games like rdr2 or all gta series done it. Imo good decision to move to new character and new period.

Don't have an issue myself, there have been female ronin/ninja warriors throughout the history of the chambara genre.

The existence of reactionary comments in contexts where switching gendered protagonists *is actually organic*, is one of the reasons I despise the vapid tokenism of DEI backed product. A few years ago people would have gone "oh cool", now due to overexposure and endless sermonising on gender issues people simply brace themselves for the worst...

Seeing as it would be a new game, why wouldn't I? I kind of prefer a fixed gender to choice anyway as I think they can better build one story rather than two. Most important thing to me is that the character is interesting. Often it comes down to intent, if the intent is to tick a bunch of boxes you can just about bet that the character is anything but interesting and it will be obvious. There is a bit of that going on in the industry sure, but it will self correct as the games tend to just not be good as devs are too busy patting themselves on the back and not catering to their audience. But its a bit ridiculous to think a gender choice is automatically pandering when literally half the population is women.
