It's kind of amazing how we're getting PS4 game announcements almost every couple of days and we're not even at E3 yet.

we've been getting a bunch of Vita announcements and hints in the past week as well.

Well since Sony has an "avalanche" planned, I'm sure they wanted to get some stuff out of the way to save space during their conference.

At least a number of them aren't coming as announcements from Sony so it doesn't feel like they're blowing their load pre-E3, rather than keeping them as surprises, like sometimes has felt in the past.

It will likely run at 30 but I don't see why it can't look that good. On PC the game is really CPU limited so they'll have to work around that.

main reason why it looks good is lighting and the superb motion blur.


if soe can get the ps4 version to render the lighting at high, then it should look great. theres also a setting called renderquality that affects the overall quality of the graphics.....


i dunno we will have to wait and see.

PS2 does seem to be the standout of the latest. On the plus side, in a leaner year I could have also seen DC and maybe that ninja F2P up there too. I'm glad they're not taking up conference space, even more so since I prefer single-player to online/MMO-style titles even though I'll probably play some of these since they look really promising.

DMPrince: This is indeed definitely better, I think a lot of post-reveal games get hit with "why wasn't this at the conference if it was there?" Heh.

PS2 is an extremely cool franchise. And PS2 exclusively uses Twitch.tv for its content. That's why it shocked me when Sony partnered with ustream for PS4 streaming. Twitch has become the gamers' choice for streaming their games and I hope PS2 sticks with Twitch (they actually originally used ustream but moved to Twitch!).

Tres De Tripa, I won't be able to see it live, either. I think it'll be up on YouTube within the hour though. The PS4 "reveal" was on YouTube within an hour or two.

it basically looked like a PSX era platformer with a new coat of paint. i don't know what to think of that game

Well, I definitely see the potential in it NOT to be just shallow, but of course it's so far from release at the moment that it's hard to tell. That said, the mechanics of knocking off parts of your body to change size, strength and abilities has a lot of potential if utilized right. The rest of it is actually a pro: It'd be nice to get a PS1-era type platformer again, there were some damn good ones and there really aren't many games like that anymore.

But I suspect it'll be a lot more than we all think.

Having nothing at their E3 last year is an absolutely fine trade-off for a great PS4 launch line up. For me at least.

I will require a premium custom Knack skin that replaces his face with Cerny's.

Well, they are going out strong on PS3. Last of Us, Gran Turismo 6, Puppeteer, etc. If Last Guardian comes for PS3, that'd be the final kicker. A nice wave goodbye.

FWIW, it's being developed by Armature, the studio founded by the ex-retro guys and it seems like Vita is the lead platform based on the screens that came out in GameInformer last month and the fact that Armature and BluePoint (MGSHD Collection Vita, PSASBR Vita Port) are next door to each other.

Additionally, a spin-off title, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, is in development for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita. Blackgate will be a 2.5D Metroid-style game that will take place after the events of Origins and is being developed by Armature Studio, which was founded by key members of the team that worked on the Metroid Prime games at Retro Studios.

Given that, what are the changes that the PS4 gets DOTA 2 now that MS supposedly has League of Legends? If Sony lets developers manage their own online environments and game updates without some massive cert, this could be right up Valve's alley...

Sony invites Gabe up on stage again. I don't think he would announce DOTA 2 on PS4. I think it would be more realistic if he comes to announce Left 4 Dead coming to PS4.

A huge reveal like this and they don't want to air it? Yeah ... right. That billion was spent wisely.

While I'd really love to see it on TV, I'm wondering if Spike's reasoning to not air the PS Conference was that it would be too expensive for them to do. Like they said, the Conference is happening during East Coast Prime Time. Maybe they figure the majority of TV viewers typically watch other channels during Prime Time and they felt not enough viewers would tune in to Spike at that time to make it worth their while, especially since there are other options out there. Dodgeball may be cheap, low risk programming for them.
