They may want to hire somebody else for their M&A division otherwise they’ll get scammed again like with Bungie.
Watch them fork out $9 billion for Remedy.
Because Sony Japan was dead weight. There, I said it.
Sony fanboys begging for Capcom……Jimbo sold Sony Japan Studio, why would he go back to buying a Japanese company?? Jimbo doesn’t like Japan and that is obvious
If there’s anyone buying Capcom it’s Nintendo
EDIT: sorry, I didn't mean to say 'sold', I meant shut-down
Remedy market cap is around $500 million.Watch them fork out $9 billion for Remedy.

If you are going to cheer this kind of behavior on, you can't be getting upset when someone else gets a company whose games you care about.
ICO, Shadow of Colossus, Gravity Rush, The Last Guardian, co-developed THE Demon's Souls.......dead weight?!? ....OK then go buy EA or something
It wasn't shut down either. Get your facts straight.

Plus, in a bid war, i don't think Sony can compete with Google and AmazonI don't think $10b is enough for Take Two..
it's not just about the Japan Studio issue, Sony is known to alienating Japanese fanbase and developers.
".....Sony has not only not made the appropriate efforts to cultivate the Japanese market, but has, in fact, done everything in its power to alienate and diminish it. From closing its local in-house Japanese development studio to imposing arbitrary content and administrative restrictions on Japanese games and game creators, to simply arrogantly throwing their weight around, with things as trivial as their reversal of the X and O button functions in the PlayStation UI and the lack of support extended to local developers, Sony has been burning bridges with a lot of Japanese developers and publishers for a while now....."
Whether they're alientating the Japan fanbase is irrelevent. Capcom are a westernised publisher now
These games + IP are dead weight. Jim Ryan doesn't post on message boards going gaga over critically acclaimed games that sell 1.7 million copies. Those games do very little for PlayStation.
The race is for 20 billion dollar games now. The heavyweight era is upon us. Bantomweights don't draw numbers anymore.
I don't like it too but its now the name of the game.i hate this aquisition shit but i wouldnt mind if someone saves konami ip. the problem is, who would want to buy the whole of konami just for a few games?
Would've thought Kojima would be under Sony's umbrella by now considering the history with them and MGS series of games.Sony buys Kojima productions and Konami.
Their budget from April 2021 to April 2024 was $17.4 billion.Just a note, this is just the budget that was allocated in last year's mid term business plan for acquisitions covering 2021-2022-2023.
Budgets are reviewed and updated at the beginning of each fiscal year.
So next May we'll see how and if the business plan is updated/changed. It's not binding and it's obviously not all the money they have.
Keep saying Capcom. I'm sure Jimbo is watching this.Capcom next, Jimbo
Kind off. They had to westernized Monster Hunter for people to finally realize how good MH has always been. Resident Evil with its games and movies too.
Are there more Americans playing in SF cups?
Why are so many Sony haters sweating about this?
I just texted him, he'll read it tomorrowKeep saying Capcom. I'm sure Jimbo is watching this.
18B (17.4B) was in April. For 7.4B they bought Crunchroll, some Indian tv folks, Housemarque, Bluepoint, Firesprite, Fabrik, Nixxes, Valkyrie Bungie and someone else plus 5% of Devolver and invested $200M on Epic plus something else.I thought they had 18billion before the bungie deal
Capcom next, Jimbo
It's funny how Sony is supposedly doing Japanese developers wrong but they still get the most 3rd party support from Japanit's not just about the Japan Studio issue, Sony is known to alienating Japanese fanbase and developers.

So pretty westernized. I know Capcom is bigger in Japan than Sony. Everything Capcom and Square tops the famitsu charts. On their pro tour site for 2021 there were 6 qualifiers from the USA with Japan behind them with 4
No clue if i'm looking at the right thing though. Not well versed in e-sports
There's 10B left to spend on acquisitions and investments in the next couple of years, but they can always review the budget and increase it.

Most of them are banking on another smaller impact acquisition, a lot of them hoping it’s just SE or Konami even if that would hurt a bit, all of them gonna turn into cry babies when it’s Capcom.

They are not alienating anybody in Japan, it's just the haters spreading lies and fud.it's not just about the Japan Studio issue, Sony is known to alienating Japanese fanbase and developers.

Tell him I'll buy SF5 champion edition if he proceeds.I just texted him, he'll read it tomorrow

Google is not even looking to increase their 1st party and we don't even really know Amazon's plans for gamingPlus, in a bid war, i don't think Sony can compete with Google and Amazon
37% of 7.4b doesn't even cover Bungie...BTW, this is the simple summary.
Sony said they were gonna spend 17 billion.
They've spent about 7 so far. PlayStation got about 37% of that.
With 10 bil left, that would meaning PlayStation might have like 3-4 billion left to spend. (Assuming their split of the money stays similar.)
That's funny seeing how I still see many smaller Japanese titles hit PSNit has started to change, many of smaller Japanese devs now are exclusively Switch
Yeah, they're still big in Japan no doubt. They'd help them regain some ground over there, but the real value would still be they have a global appeal.
Why not? They probably have more exclusives together with Capcom not including Pragmata and maybe Street Fighter.
They have put money in FF16 exclusive and FF7 Remakes etc and Forspoken.
