Sony Interactive Entertainment has included “Windows PC” in a game listing on their website.

To honest I have a decent PC and I do buy consoles for their exclusives.

If sony release their games on PC then lol no need for me to buy a playstation just like no need for me to buy an Xbox. if anything with the price of these 2 consoles around 900$ and the online sub average of 80$ per year. I would rather spend that 1000$ on the newest graphics card and probably one of the powerful if not the MOST powerful video card for 1000 and i will enjoy
1- better experience due to the graphics difference
2- no longer pay to play online
3- Same game that has better graphics but way cheaper.

Honestly as a gamer I should thank both sony and MS for doing this. 1 system to rule it all and it aint a console they made.

As a person though. i question the common sense of the less hardware sales thanks to the availbality of their exclusives on a different platform. i mean ,,, its the main reason a true gamer pick one console over the other. What the bloody fuck these companies are doing is just ZEROOO sense to me. Yes you make some money ( and i mean some because once its cracked the sales of the game will drop alot. But you lose your brand loyality and value of your IP .

what the hell. at least Nintendo got it right . their IP on mobile but totally different games than consoles. jesus zero logic i swear from sony specially. for MS at least Windows is part of their eco system. what the hell sony is doing lol

LMAO they tried to ninja edit things for a second time... They've been caught twice now lol...

Sony is really bad at hiding what they're doing. They want this PC shit to be a surprise or something and keep failing at containing shit.

With Sony Interactive Entertainment now embracing PC with titles like Horizon: Zero Dawn and Dreams, plus potentially The Last of Us Part II, they now are listing Windows PC on their website PlayStation.com!

This could mean that the PlayStation giant isn't holding back at all and is fully bringing their titles that are "exclusives" to more than just their console.

Godfall (minute of gameplay), Counterplay Games' debut PS5 title is out this Holiday, but that's not the strange part to this listing. Alongside PS5 is PC, which isn't something you'd expect from a company that is quite proud of their exclusives. Sony included it while games like Flow, Flower, Journey, Beyond Two Souls, Detroit: Become Human, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Guns Up!, and several others (Jesus Sony has a lot of IPs on PC) all don't mention PC on the PlayStation website.

Microsoft is releasing all Xbox Game Studios titles on PC and some even on Nintendo Switch, hopefully Sony can follow in their footsteps. Sony Music (Unties + original studio) and Sony Pictures (Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and Animax Games) both have gaming divisions and their titles are multiplatform (like Tiny Metal and Deemo under Sony Music Entertainment plus Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming VR and Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son from Sony Pictures Entertainment) so it was only about time Sony Corp forced the final branch with developers to not do exclusives.

Does this potentially change your mind about PS5 if games will be heading to PC?

Source: PlayStation's website

Gosh, that's a lot of FUD over a third party developed AND published title.

As a PC gamer I look forward to never having to buy a console again, nor ridiculously paying to play online. 😁

You're next Nintendont!

Why don't everyone just sit the fuck down?

Why are you talking like Sony is abandoning their console? How do you know you WON'T have to pay for PSN on PC to play their mp games (exclusives)?
How do you know every game ever released on a Sony console is coming to PC day 1?
The way you build up your expectations it sounds like every Sony-game ever created will be released on PC years before they release it console.
It started with Horizon Zero Dawn and then Dreams followed, now Last of us 2, and Bloodborne because you want that as well oh and why not just throw Nintendo into the mix "because they have to come to PC now that the other 2 are doing it".
OH MY DOG, they removed the PC-listing from Godfall on their website, its a conspiracy! It's happening everybody!
Since X is coming to pc now i can buy the game for 30bucks on a preorder because PC is always cheaper, consoleowners have to pay 200 bucks per game like they usually do.

This is worse than the dick-measuring that occurres with "is X gonna be more powerful than Y? BUT YEAH IT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE MY PC IS ALWAYS GONNA BE 20X YOUR DICK!"-shit that comes with every new generation.

Wait for the news from official sources and see what happens.

Heck, they could just as easily have dropped that from their site to diffuse talk like this, too.

Literally nothing official has been confirmed yet anyways, people are just looking to kick up dirt since they don't have specs to fight over yet.

? Wait a minute....so the thread is about GEARBOX publishing a game that will appear on both PC and PS5? Um....what does that have to do with Sony? I'm pretty sure they will list it as coming to "Windows PC" as that was already announced and this is NOT A SONY GAME, its a 3rd party title.

Thats like saying "Sony interactive entertainment has included "windows-pc" in a game listing on their website.....for Madden" So Sony isn't embracing PC anymore then a Call Of Duty, Madden, Fifa release etc.

This is just a bad article thats trying to exaggerate something that is extremely normal for a 3rd party. It would be like making an article saying MS is embracing PS4 because Rise Of The Tomb Raider....

A 3rd party game having a PC release isn't news, that isn't anything mind blowing and just not enough to have an article let alone an entire thread talking about a company listing a 3rd party game as coming to PC....

the ONLY reason people are buying a PS5/PS4 is the release of exclusive games.

multiplatform titles are performing better in other platforms (PC and Xbox).
And also most games are going to be crossplay anyway nextgen... so, what's left?
Why should I buy a PS5 if multiplatform games are going to look and run better on PC/Xbox and if I can play the exclusive games on PC with better performance?
People are very disappointed with Sony. I mean just look what they did in the past... so many fucked up things
Enough is enough

You're getting mad over RUMORS, that's the point. We have absolutely NOTHING confirmed yet. Nil. Nada. Save the outrage and declarations of "Doom and Betrayal" until something's actually announced at least.

You don't get the point buddy... it's about Sony releasing THEIR EXCLUSIVE games on PC..

games like DREAMS and last of us part II are coming to PC.. is this like madden coming to pc? Seriously?

Maldonado, WHY does sony Have a WINDOWS PC section on THEIR website?? Why? Because going on they will release MORE AND MORE of THEIR EXCLUSIVE GAMES, games that are not on other consoles, on PC. Those exclusive games are going to be on PC going forward. That's a HUGE thing, since the single most important reason to get a PS5 was the exclusive games... now those are coming to PC...
So The biggest reason to get a PS5 is... GONE! you can play those exclusive games with better performance and graphics on PC! Why should people get a PS5 now?

Sure buddy... "rumors". That's why Sony has a separate SECTION for WINDOWS PC on THEIR website... because rumors!
That's why SONY BOSS himself said that they are going to release more and more games "beyond" PlayStation 😉 because RUMORS. :D

They had PC listed as a platform for a third-party game, not a "WINDOWS PC section",

Anecdotal, just because you (i assume) buy a console for exclusives, there are tons of posts in this thread or one of the other 500 threads about the same shit who DON'T. People buy consoles because its easy, not everyone owns or wants a PC. GAF is NOT your average gamer.

multiplatform titles are performing better in other platforms (PC and Xbox).
You mean performancewise or saleswise? Both are true in some cases, in others not. If we look at the performance of the game in terms of FPS etc. Sure a 9900k @ 5ghz and a 2080ti will perform better than a xbone / ps4, but most gamers down own that kind of pc. Some do, some don't, some people don't even own or want a PC in that case their console outperforms their PC by a million %.

And also most games are going to be crossplay anyway nextgen... so, what's left?

That's you, that's not everyone. See the previous 2 answers.

Enough is enough

Sure, they have pulled some shit but its easy to bitch about that instead of all the good things they have done. I could easily use this argument on PC or Xbox

People are very disappointed with Nvidia / Intel. I mean just look what they did in the past... so many fucked up things

The best selling exclusive is Uncharted 4 and only 15% of PS4 owners bought it. You have no idea what you're talking about.

??

It's already been announced for the PC.

Godfall is a third-person fantasy looter-slasher focused on melee combat, coming to PlayStation 5 & Epic Games Store Holiday 2020. Developed by Counterplay Games & published by Gearbox Publishing.

And why did nearly 50 million people buy a xbox without any exclusive game? Many people prefer consoles, me too. That's it and i really don't give a s*** about exclusive games.

You don't care about exclusives, you like the controller, your friends are on Playstation, you already have digital games tied to your account, you want your games to look better or load faster than PS4 etc. Then reverse those reasons; you DON'T like the Xbox controller, you have no friends on Xbox and an empty library etc.

Really, pick a reason, any of them work and it's why the PS4 has sold so well regardless of exclusives. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that everyone who plays games browses forums, or watches E3, or considers PC a viable option. The vast majority of people playing games are none of those things.

Uncharted 4 made around..how much 15 million copies?

So imagine there 15 million people buy ps4 because of U4...

2 million for Bloodborne...

10 million for Horizon Zero Dawn....

Another 13 million for Spiderman...

And theres 5-7 million for other exclusive game like Infamous, Killzone Order 1886 etc..thats quite alot of people when you combined it each other...

Multiplat game dont count becos those game came along with the system its just happened that people bought those game on ps4 because they already had that system ( its not the main reason to buy ps4 since they can actually get it elsewhere)

Without exclusve game to offer on playstation they can get those game on PC or Xbox One X which offer better graphics

Do I seriously need to point out that you're implying that these people only bought one exclusive and no others?

I fully aware that theres a group of people who dont care about exclusive ( such as yours)

I also aware that there overlapping numbers about people who like more than one particular exclusive game

Its just that im on the other group of people who value videogame console for it unique experience

Heres my logic works

- Xbox Series X will offer third party support and Xbox first party game which also atainable on PC

- PS5 will also offer third party support and Playstation first party game which also atainable on PC

- PC will offer third party suport..combined with Xbox and Playstation first party game coming on it....combined with PC exclusive game you cant play on consoles....combined with Free Online...and unlimited modding community...

From that viewpoint...i see PC gaming offer the absolutely best value for my interest...

I cant speak for everyone though as perhaps you might have different perspective..opinions....and i respected that...

Another thing people are missing is that this significantly lowers the bar for entry into the PS/MS ecosystem for those that are already invested in PC.

So, lets say next gen consoles are around $5-600. That's a lot of first party titles I can now buy in those ecosystems since I don't need to spend that chunk of change up front. I would imagine both Sony and MS make more cash off me in that way than a console sale. Not to mention, for single console and PC owners with tighter budgets this should make them feel SAFER investing into other ecosystems because they know they aren't locked in so they are far more than likely to invest now than they where before.

Sony could easily double their sales by bringing their games to PC. They'd be silly not to do it.

Most importantly, people getting pissy is hilarious. They've videogames, for fucks sake, calm down.

Hold on there a second...... according to some strategists, having Sony games on PC is a trojan horse of genius.

After you get a taste of playing God of War, you'll ditch your PC, buy a PS system, PS+, a second controller, and only use your PC for surfing the net and updating your resume. Buh bye Steam. Hello PS Store.

I'm currently getting random hard restarts on my PC, it's either the Power supply, GPU, motherboard, bios drivers for the motherboard, could also be the ram, some bad driver, could be the Nvidia driver or windows 10 or maybe one of the 5 hard drives in my computer. Fun times.

I know more about computers than 95% of the population, but damn I hate them. I love simplicity and consoles can offer that. Now I'm going to have to waste an entire day finding my bloody fault.

PS4 isnt simple or anyshit , everytime i boot up there are million of updates without bringing anything meaningful each size like 10 gb or more. And dont forget to to copy entire thing another due shitty OS of PS4.

On switch its amazing but PS4 is nothing like switch in terms of fast game in game outs.So PC = PS4 yeah about inconvenience

Godfall is a game to be published by Gearbox. Why are supposed to be PS5 exclusive? If Gearbox decides to release one of their own games on PC, how is that related with what Sony does with their own games? Seeing that website I think Godfall will release on PC and maybe later even on Xbox, it's a Gearbox game.

I still think Horizon, Dreams and TLOU2, like the other the other Sony IPs developed by Sony's internal studios won't be released on PC, at least outside PS Now. I think they are weak ass rumors misleaded by weak assumptions and fanboy wishes. Doesn't make sense for Sony's strategy and there isn't any official hint about it.

Considering Horizon and Death Stranding are coming to it, evidently it is.

Halo Reach also hit 150k concurrent on Steam all while retailing at 39.99, so I'm sure you can do the math ayy.
Death Stranding was already announced for PC when Kojima Productions, a 3rd party studio, announced their publishing partnership with Sony. Like many other games where Sony did help 3rd party big or indie studios by funding or publishing games that may even were released in other platforms at the same time or later. Cases like No Man's Sky, Street Fighter V, Infinite Swan, The Whitness and so on.

Horizon is a Sony AAA IP made by an internal Sony studio. Which means it will remain exclusive to their console. Sony is breaking many records with their strategy, their case doesn't make sense to remove unique selling points for their console and to move their gaming efforts to PC. It may make sense for MS because they have Windows, way smaller market share and revenue in the console and gaming isn't their main market. I think Jason's sources were lying or had a mistake seeing that these games were going to be playable on PC through PSNow and thought they were going to be on Steam and Epic Store.

For me it will be bullshit until Sony announces it in case this ever happens.

I own Horizon for PS4. Hope they give it to me on PC for free. Tack on Days Gone as well.
Well, they gave you Remote Play or PS Now for that.

Yeah sure they could double their game sales. But what cost ? I am pretty sure atleast some people wont buy their console and if they are not careful enough they are gonna lose all that PS Plus + console hardware + accessories money . If it made sense to be just 3rd party publisher they would already be one.

Just buying their games wont cover cost of making them , Sony is one of the best publishers in industry giving infinite freedom to their studios. You cant make that with limited money or less money. You have to earn shitton to have that attitude to your developers.

Imagine if EA or Ubisoft owned mediamolecule or gran turismo guys. 7 years one game , ayy lmao it would shut down so hard

Sony would know this better than anyone posting here, and anything we say is pure speculation. I'm sure they've "crunched the numbers" and done the market research to see if this is viable for them or not.

Maybe they determined that they would lose 10% of their console customers by them moving to PC, but in the process they'll have gained more than enough customers to cover that 10%.

And who knows, maybe Horizon: Zero Dawn is just their test run? If it doesn't sell as well as they anticipated they may scrap their PC plans and go back to the status quo.

I wonder why people seem to forget this. Death stranding was never an exclusive, maybe when it comes to consoles, sure, but we always knew it would also come to PC. unless Sony owns a certain IP, the 3rd party studio can do whatever they want.

Has Horizon PC even been confirmed by Sony yet? Where's the press release? A comment?
Im starting to lose trust in all insiders including Jason. Everything just seems like rumors.

Be thankful it's only a day or so for you to find and fix the issue instead of 2-3 weeks waiting for Sony's servicing centre to get back to you on whether or not they can even fix the damn thing under warranty, which is probably a no...or you might just get lumped with a refurbished unit that fails again a month after you get it.

why would you buy a PS5 if:

- all exclusive games com to PC
- all multiplatform Games run and look better on Xbox/ pc
- there is crossplay for all games

there us like no reason at all

As a PC gamer myself that games most on console, the reason is no fuss gaming. No need to waste time and energy figuring out why a damn game is blue screening or messing up, just plug in and play. Controller is another one, many prefer the PS controller. So to question why anyone buys a console, is to argue they just want the game regardless of PC cost, issues, interface, controller etc. That is just unlikely, many want to game, but they also want reliability, plug in place, familiar controller etc

So the biggest fans of stuff like Uncharted are not going to wait years to play it on another system, with a different controller. That is like saying the biggest Halo fan will wait for it to come to playstation years after release, on a different controller, with a different community....sooooo that doesn't sound like a actual Halo fan, that sounds like someone that doesn't even care enough about the series to actually buy the system for it.

ie not the majority.

Thats like saying you are the number 1 Persona fan, but ONLY own a XB.
Thats like saying you are the number 1 Smash Bros fan, but only own a Playstation.

The biggest fans of series like this, also own the platforms they release on, which means they will likely continue to play it on those systems. If Halo or Smash went 3rd party, logically, the best selling platforms for those games would still be XB and Nintendo systems. Its why Tekken sells better on Playstation. Sir...where did you think those Tekken fans came from? Coming to XB or PC, doesn't remove the years they spent with that layout from Tekken 1-5, thus coming to PC, XB etc doesn't remove that install base or desire to play with the same community or desire to play with the same controller. You must factor those things as well. If gamers bought games based on the game alone with zero factor to platform, PC should actually have ALL THE BEST SELLING 3rd party games by default.

Why do you think it doesn't? Sooooo why would you buy a PS or Nintendo or XB if PC has all "multiplatform Games run and look better"?? lol Why are those systems selling millions for? Why are 3rd party games on console selling BETTER then PC? So I think you have a argument that lacks LOTS of context.

AV AV To be fair, his logic isn't that off. Yes, its possible many bought PS4 for those titles and a portion of those sales came from those who first bought a PS4 just for that title. Keep in mind, I think you are both right.

Some buy it for controller, 3rd party games, friends etc, some buy it for established exclusives and many times will wait to buy until that title releases. So its feasible.

His logic is sound for himself. He doesn't want a PS5 if those bullet points he listed are true, and I'm kind of in the same boat, but he specifically used the phrase "the ONLY reason people are buying a PS5/PS4 is the release of exclusive games", which is dumber than a box of rocks.

Well I must be dumb as a rock because the ONLY reason I bought PS4 and eventually PS5 IS because of exclusives. (NHL more specifically)

Why?? Because I have a more than capable PC to play everything else...

So it might not be the ONLY reason for a lot of people but it is so for others.

Why would I buy a console besides that reason for myself ? Nothing else other than what I stated.

So the day that exclusives come all to PC even if it's 6 months to a year later or even more, is the day that I won't buy the consoles anymore because my main investments are on PC only.

To each is own like they say. Live and let live.

Cheers!

I bought a PS4 and Xbox one at launch. If sonys exclusives come to PC around the same time I won't need either console. I appreciate I'm fairly niche in this respect which is a great position to be in.

I think a lot pc gamers are like me. They were never going to buy a console anyways. This way they get some of my money. I am doubtful of the doomsday theories. We'll see, I hope that won't be the case.
