I agree with your concern. Not so much of a concern was just asking for thoughts
They're selling everything they can produce, tho. Both are. In fact, they produce more PS5s than MS produces Series consoles, sales splits and not keeping them both on shelves tells us this.Guys, it's pretty simple. Sony didn't read the market well or the chip shortages, went on a parade against MS about genererations and that didn't go well too....
Now they are rebooting supplies of last gen consoles against a widely available true next gen console a.k.a. series S at a wrong price atm.
For those who are price sensitive and or tech savy those consoles are DOA unless sold at a price of 100$ including die shrinks etc.

So if they can sell more PS4s in markets that demand them, that's good business. The only negative are console war head cannon.
Yap i agree. The narration of "we believe in generations" just fell apart.
It is not your fault or mine. It will be just stupid seeing ps4 pros getting sold against series S consoles.
Selling product for profit, and selling out of them is not stupid... like at all.It is not your fault or mine. It will be just stupid seeing ps4 pros getting sold against series S consoles.
They won't be selling Pros, and it's not stupid. They're going to sell all of them. What was stupid was killing their supply so quickly in the first place.
indeed. If only they didn't like to paint series S as something going to hold the generation back.
don't try to frame me.Eh? Sony never painted the Series S as that?
it's not about wars - its about moving consoles and sales.See. Wars.
don't try to frame me.
Instead frame him:

I guess ps4 consoles produce great results.

Before the shortages hit, Sony went all in with PS5. They stopped PS4 production and switched their manufacturing to 99% PS5. You CANNOT find any PS4 at retail stores. You see in sales number, PS4 sold less than 200K in the past 12 months....
They're looking at it from a business perspective. They themselves considered it. Nothing to do with whether it would "hold next gen back"
Chill. You're being blatant with the warring.

You're just posting the same info with a clickbaiter headline. Again, they're looking at it from a business perspective.
Well developers see that likewise

'We believe in generations:' PlayStation argues cross-gen games risk stifling innovation
"In many cases, we can't take everybody with us from previous consoles into [a next-generation experience]. You need new hardware, you need new devices to experience what these developers want you to experience."www.gamedeveloper.com
I made my arguements - feel free to dismiss them.
Good night gentlement.
- MS: we are going to support ΧΒΟΧ ΟΝΕ for 2 years
- Sony: We believe in generations fuck you MS and your series S will hold back the generation
-MS: Discontinues XBOX/ONE S and X
- Sony: Proceeds το make every game crossgen
-MS: we stop making cross gen games
-Sony: Hold my beer i start producing more PS4s
lol

Yes - there was a long tail of cross-gen releases between PS3/Vita/PS4 - lasting well into 2015.Also, did we have Sony making games for PS3 and 2 after a year of it's next console's release? I can only think of GT.
You should post more frequently. Be interesting to see how long you last here lmao
I didn't think he was real far off base honestlyDunno i thought it was kinda funny heh
I dont know why you are able to post that yet any post i make in this thread keeps getting deleted by an anonymous mod that im unable to reply to.
This is gross. Another reason to just go PC I guess?
I think i’ve only played one game built from the ground up for PS5. This cross gen period needs to die.
I can disagree with him if I want. New concept, right? It's almost like John Linneman is right about people like yourself?![]()

I recently traded my son's PS4 pro and my buddy's for $330 each at gamestop. I noticed those tradein prices have dropped right off since the PS4s went back into production, so good timing.
It does appear they are only making PS4s and not Pros though. Probably the easiest chips to get, and the $300 price matches the Xbox Series S and Switch for a lower end option. But what kind of sucker is going to buy a PS4 this year?
The idea that you think I don’t agree with John is because I don’t have any knowledge of the gaming industry is laughable. You can, but what he's talking about he has knowledge and more resources on. And the fact your reply is in fact the same reaction the rest of the knee jerk reactions are, shows you don't know how products work or how the industry of Video games have worked for over 30+ years.
The idea that you think I don’t agree with John is because I don’t have any knowledge of the gaming industry is laughable.
As an investor, I totally understand the economics behind the reasoning. It does not mean, as a PS5 consumer, that I have to like it.

Here's what you said:
That implies you don't understand when SKD's, and FINAL dev KITS are distributed and when developers are done with their last project that they automatically in 2017/2018 have final hardware to start building PS5 builds of their engine/games?
The reason it looks like there is so much cross gen is because of all the games Sony has put out during the life cycle of the previous console. When they started their next project in 2017/2018 all they had were PC's with close specs to what PS5 was going to be at the time to start building their game. So when you dont have final SKD's in your studio and only a rough spec'ed software kit that is running on a PC your going to also develop using tools that at the time are meant more for PS4.
The back peddling of Sony Producing more PS4's is because there 1 is demand for it more than they thought, and 2. PS5's are being made as fast as they can, but not reaching everyone. So what do you do? If they had gone MS's strat with a lesser console for $300 that had smaller chip and less materials in the build then yes they could have had more of those said consoles out. But they decided to not make life hard for developers down the road.
Your comment comes off as you think the vision of Sony's IP's is somewhat compromised by the title being also on PS4. When in fact it was their decision to go that route, not forced on them by Sony. If GG wanted Forbidden west to be PS5 only they had that option, but it would have taken longer.
Returnal would be my counter to your comment. This game was in development for over four years prior to launch and was purely a PS5 game. They designed a fantastic game with a small studio.
And i’m not sure what your argument is about having rough software specs on a pc. The bottleneck removal alone of the implementation of a SSD would drastically change level design which wouldn’t be possible on PS4. So yes, games designed for both PS4 and PS5 are technically constrained by PS4 hardware. Its a fact- check out Cerny’s PS5 talk as he goes over the impact to level design.
When they talk about PS4 is the regular one or the pro version?
I have psnow, but lately the network here has been crap, a PS4 for a decent price would be a good oportunity to play bloodborne. The pros aren't noisy right?
Is it a big difference in games like bloodborne? i don't have a 4k tvRegular ones
