Seems that no place in AU is selling the 43'' model.

Looks like you can buy it directly from the Sony store at least.

43" is 873. Still way to high for me.
Wanna ask about HDR and input lag? How much does HDR affect it ? Is this something you can turn off to reduce input lag(by how much does it improve) ?
Picked up the 49" UK model yesterday and so far I'm really impressed. Gone from an LG 'fauxK' and the difference on that front is astronomical. Pleased with how it handles the PS3 too.
I also wish I hadn't read the comments about calibrating TVs because now I'm driving myself mad trying to work out if I prefer contrast at 48 or 49 😂😂
Anyone any general tips on that front?

Where did you buy the UK model? I can't find anything on Argos or Currys.
Hey, where did you buy it from and for how much?

Hi folks. Can anyone who has the UK model please let me know your thoughts on the sound of the unit? I have a soundbar at the moment with my existing TV but I'd rather my next TV rely on it's own as I think my setup looks quite clumsy with a sound bar. Cheers.
I'm looking at the 43inch variant in the UK and am just wondering what kind of input lag I should expect?
Also, and forgive my ignorance, will upgrading to a 4K set have any negative impact on games running at 1080p? Will it make games look any worse?
I don't know much about TV tech, so any help would be appreciated.
(I've got a an XBO S coming in the next week and plan on getting a Pro too so I'm just weighing everything up)
It's the 55" model obviously, so the 43" reviews aren't necessarily applicable.Sony KD-55XD8005
Is that the one in Germany?
Preordered the Ps4 pro and will most likely pull the trigger on this
It doesn't sound too hot to me. Servicable but not good.Hi folks. Can anyone who has the UK model please let me know your thoughts on the sound of the unit? i believe it is has 36ms with 4K and HDR, which is lowest you can get... it should be great gaming tv.
the 4K HDR input lag measured came out to 33.2 at rtings.comCheers mate, much appreciated.
Saying that, I've just checked my own TV which boasts just 14ms of impact lag. Not sure I want to give that up (particularly as I like to play MP).
Will I notice the increase?
I was interested in buying this one, but the European version seems to come with a 50hz panel! 850D has a 100hz panel, so I'm gravitating towards that. It's ~400 more, thoughSony KD-55XD8005

And as for whether you'll notice or not, varies from person to person. Most people won't notice a ~33ms input lag. Some people don't even have an issue with 50+ ms of input lag. Also, curious, what is your current TV model and where did you get the input lag measurements for it?
It's a shame the 850 has ~90ms input lag. I really want to jump on 4K with my pro coming, but a 49" tv is too small for me.the 4K HDR input lag measured came out to 33.2 at rtings.com

Sorry Iam such a noob on the tv market, but 50hz is just for tv broadcasting right? The tv still has 60hz for games?I was interested in buying this one, but the European version seems to come with a 50hz panel! 850D has a 100hz panel, so I'm gravitating towards that. It's ~400 more, though![]()
Can this thing do 1080p@true 120hz?

Yeah, the TV you got seems great, and is the product of being a "late gen" 1080p tv, where it could be affordable while providing great quality. If you're looking for a 4k equivalent of that while being priced similar to this set, I suggest waiting.http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/sony-kdl42w653-201308113237.htm

Like I said above, I'm looking to get in on the 4K+HDR revolution but I'm wondering if I should wait. Not sure my money will fetch me quite what I want.
Still, I'm tempted.
For monitors, yeah it's not, for TVs, especially running in 4K+HDR, it is.Umm 33ms of input lag isn't low at all.
Coming from a 3ms total lag (I think) Gsync monitor, I can't really say I've been feeling any disconnect when playing on the TV at 4k60 tbh. Of course this perception is subjective but I'm pretty sure this is one of the lower latency 4K HDR sets on the market right now. Read about some Samsung at ~22ms but nothing below that at 4K/HDR game mode.Umm 33ms of input lag isn't low at all.
It's not a 120Hz TV

Might feel worse at 30fps but I'll test that with Forza next week in HDR mode.

There are TV's as low as 8ms and there are 4K ones with 19ms, so either way, this is not the 4K gaming TV we have all been waiting for.
Citation needed. The lowest 4k + hdr tv lag I've seen is 22ms. Tv's with 8 ms of lag? Sounds like tfma. There are TV's as low as 8ms and there are 4K ones with 19ms, so either way, this is not the 4K gaming TV we have all been waiting for.
