Sony's E3 2014 - What are we all expecting?

I expect

Uncharted 4 gameplay
The Order gameplay
PS+ game change and Knack as an anchor game for the PS4
Destiny gameplay
PS Now launch date
Assassin's Creed gameplay and exclusive DLC

I am not going to go crazy with fanciful unrealistic expectations.

The Last of Us PS4 will get a proper trailer and release date sometime in May. Sony always announces games in May before E3.

We got a trailer for it last year at E3 along with Kingdom Hearts 3.

I expect just another trailer with English voiceoverthis time.

I think the Agent is vaporware but GTA V was heavily marketed (even bundled) with the PS3. I definitely think GTA V next gen is a dead cert at the Sony conference. It could be as small as just an announcement or as big as a trailer and exclusive story DLC. If it isn't announced before E3, I think we can almost guarantee it shows up at Sony's conference.
 
Next-gen GTA V, Next Gen GT 6, Uncharted 4 trailer, Kingdom Hearts 3, FF XV, Morpheus, new Guerrilla rpg, Beast, Driveclub, Arkham Knight, ACU, PS+ montage, new tech demo, no Last Guardian.

We rarely see US based studios at GC don't we? At least for Sony. I don't remember the last time they announced something at GC from one of their US studios.

Also, not sure if I've seen this mentioned before, but it looks like their next project is potentially using UE4. Snapped it a month or so back.

There will be plenty of back patting for sales numbers. A speech about how the PS3 is still going strong and a crappy section on the vita. Beyond all of those negatives there will be a metric shit ton of games and a few surprises. I expect tons of games both that we know of and ones we don't

Sony have had some remarkable E3 (I remember the first Playstation E3 with the price announcement, the one where they unveiled Jak and Daxter, Ico and a ton of masterpieces, the 2009 edition with Uncharted 2, agent -snif-, TLG -snif- and FF XIV, and last year performance). Still, they have had more misses than hits. Not that the content was bad (it was consistently good), not that the setting was mediocre (they always have the best stage lighting, montages...by far)...but something about the rythm of their presentations is almost ALWAYS off.
MS, last year, did pretty good on that front with a back to back, titles focused showing (they shat the bed with their price announcement and the technical issues during the conference) despite them displaying stuff for the sole reason of displaying it (Black Tusk CG teaser for a cancelled game, in-engine Quantum Break segment, Halo CG teaser), especially after the beatdown they took following the dreadful reveal event.
I hope Sony comes out gun blazing, adopting a similar approach. They possess the biggest first-second party network (correct me if I am wrong).

Then vita will have a few small titles announced, BL2 numbers if they were good, and a price drop. Then comes shadow of the beast. Then a last Guardian tease. Then indies Montage followed by exclusive indies announcements. Then gorilla Cambridge's new game. This is the big morpheous showcase. Then an uncharted 4 CG trailer to end it.

I don't know where this nonsense comes from. Other than Shadow of the Beast, Sony has not done a CG trailer in forever. Even then, I fully expect Shadow of the Beast to look like that in 2.5D.
 
Hopefully we get a Ape Escape 4 or Jak 4 or something.

I need my colourful games back.

Ones that don't suck like LBP, Sly 4, Puppeteer and Knack :\

Remeber when xbox finally got the ip for their system and whats his face (peter moore) announced it on stage with the tattoo. I dont recall anyone from rockstar being their though.

MAYBE Uncharted with how things are going I dont really see them showing much.

Im expecting a lot of megatons from Sony at E3, almost everything that used to be exclusive will be with some game launching this yr that we wouldnt have expected....

Final Fantasy xiv expansion announced to be bigger than any other expansion
Diablo 3 late june release
The last guardian is 99% finished and will.be released over the summer as school starts back
PS4 will be in even higher demand once they announce a souls game of some sort
Plant vs Zombie Garden Warfare with xtra features exclusive to PS4
Expansion to Warframe
Destiny beta released.the moment.its.announced
Res Evil 7 PS4 exclusive
Wipeout announced for PS4 and vita, vita can be used for rearview option
Qore comes back as print is dying

This would certainly take the cake for most uninspiring conference.
 
As a non PS4 owner, four or more of the below would make me pick up a PS4 so I'm hoping to see:

The Last Guardian
New Crash Bandicoot
New Syphon Filter
New Motorsport
New Colony Wars or Warhawk
New G-Police
New Heavenly Sword
New PaRappa the Rapper

I know we won't get all of that, but a few of those would make me really happy.
 
My main priorities are seeing Project Beast and Uncharted 4 gameplay. Also a new God of War tease? would be nice.
 
The order 1888 gameplay as intro.
10 million PS4 'shipped'.
PlayStation Now. $30/year, huge catalog of on-demand games.
Indies
Uncharted gameplay trailer.
Boring stuff.
New IP.

There will always be sales infos at the beginning of the conference.
People should finally deal with it and stop with the "boring" posts in every E3 conference thread. Shit is getting annoying.
 
First and foremost I expect a date for the conference so I can take a day off already.
ffs sony hurry up, 1 month to go and we haven't heard anything
 
Sony's conference will be unbalanced as usual.

The reason for this is that Sony has a diverse set of interests and therefore give time to those interests. Microsoft are behind and have lost quite a bit of support from core gamers, so their entire conference will tailor towards them.

Sony on the other hand has to consider:

- Core gamers (new IP and stage demos for already announced games)
- Establishing themselves as leaders to third parties (so they'll demo their games)
- Indie Developers (so they'll speak about this)
- Continued PS3 support
- Vita
- Project Morpheus

Sony's conference last year while memorable, was still uneven. They did however build to a big crescendo at the end. They won't have the luxury of Microsoft fucking up this year.

For my personal tastes I want to see:

New IP (Trailers or demo)
More shout outs to Indie developers.
Some 3rd party demos
PlayStation Now
 
what i expect/hope/fear:

-uncharted moved to late 2015, will only get a short teaser trailer without gameplay (but it will give a glimpse of the direction the series might take)
-god of war 4 teaser trailer, no new setting/main character
-tons of great looking indie games, also some exclusive indie deals
-at least one big third party exclusive, if ms can do it (dead rising 3), sony can do something similar
-story dlc for second son, announcement trailer
-project beast (if it exists) to be teased, fully shown at tgs
-gran turismo super duper hd remaster collectors edition announced
-something from media molecule
-ps1 + ps2 games will be available on the psn store.
-they will announce the first big retail ps4 game for ps+
-project morpheus will not be shown at the pc, only talked about
-hopefully at least 1 or 2 new ip's
-at least one classic sony franchise will return (as a dl-only title ala wipeout hd)

i dont expect too much from sonys presser.

I think Sony are going to go in guns blazing this year. Last year they only had The Order. Perhaps they saves everything for this year.

Here is how I think it will go

Talk about PS4 sales, fasting selling console of all time

Firmware 2.0, more social features, YouTube support, Sleep mode, MP3, DLNA. Also user interface and features upgrades such as not gifting and having a wishlist for PSN store.

Instant Game Collection June revealed to have Killzone Shadow Fall. Also in addition Injustice and Knack will be part of IGC for the rest of this year June-December

PS Now launch titles and release date. 1 Month free trial for PSN+ members

PS1 and PS2 Classics support, PS4 natively emulates the games. PS2 Classics have HD support, trailer is shown with games like Ark The Lad Twilight of the Spirits and Dark Cloud now with HD graphics similar to PCSX2.

Vita is mentioned, new trailers for Gravity Rush 2 and other already announced Vita games. Finally Final Fantasy Type 0 localization is announced.

New Final Fantasy XV Trailer

New Diablo III Trailer and release date

Destiny Gameplay Demo and Beta relese date

GTAV Next Gen port Trailer

Batman Arkham Knight Gameplay Demo, and exclusive DLC

Assassins Creed Unity Trailer and exclusive DLC

Talk about how F2P games have been a success on PS4 with Planetside 2 Trailer with release dates and a Everquest Next teaser trailer for PS4, and LittleBigPlanet Hub which is now also on PS4. Finally Fortnite from Epic is announced for PS4

Yoshida comes up stage saying the following games are exclusive to PS4

Deep Down Trailer

Drive Club Gameplay Demo showing off not only in game gameplay but social features with smartphone

New Media Molecule IP Trailer

The Order Gameplay Demo turns out to be mindblowing, similar to Uncharted 2 gameplay reveal

Project Beasts Trailer

The Last of Us release date to be July and new Uncharted 4 Trailer with only 2015 date mentioned

Yoshida comes back to close the show, and pulls out the one more thing surprise, The Last Guardian re-revealed for PS4


I think this time Sony will skip announcing Indie games, as they did a minor indie game reveal not too long ago. Perhaps a sizzle reel trailer. I think Gamescom will be saved for big Indie games like Rime, as well as proper gameplay demo of Media Molecule IP instead of just a trailer. I also expect Sony to briefly mention Morpheus but announce nothing new. Again Gamescom will be saved for motion games, perhaps Zindagi is working on a new Move game.
