SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME - Official Trailer

One of the girls from work went to see this yesterday.
Now she previously said that Tobey was her favourite Spider-Man, Tom was okay
But she didn't like Andrew Garfield one bit!
She wasn't even prepared to rewatch his films before seeing No Way Home and I did try to convince her because the last time she saw them was when they released so she would have been early teens then and maybe she would see them differently now
Funny enough after seeing No Way Home she now absolutely adores Andrew Garfield and wants to rewatch his Spider-Man films.
She said he was the star of the film

I think Amazing Spiderman is gaining momentum again. It is actually fucking good

It seems superhro movies, really, are the only movies that are doing decent in this post covid world. Or atleast making numbers close to what you would of expected pre covid.
And thats a damn shame to be honest.
Del Toro has a new movie, Nightmare Alley, out this weekend. And I've seen people who have tickets booked saying they've had them canceled because the cinema has decided to put on more screenings of Spider-Man. Seems like it's getting harder and harder for anything that's not a franchise to actually get a chance.

While flawed they did get a lot of hate due to "not being in the MCU" even though the MCU Spider-Man films have a SHIT load more.
some didn't even give him a chance because of it or disregard him because they were MCU fanboys.
Most are younger and only know Holland.
Now people are realising or only now seeing he was the better Spider-Man.
They all good, and are different.
Tobey is your Classic Spider-Man and Andrew is the perfect Amazing Spider-Man
And Tom is just ok at both, but his first two films have let him down due to being too tied to the MCU and Tony Stark
Which a lot of reviews are revealing in their No Way Home reviews how much of a disappointment they actually were and how the new one is more like the previous Spider-Man films
And going forward that trend will continue 😁

If I had to rank them:
No Way Home
TASM + TASM 2 (for the Gwen Stacy Saga)
Far From Home
Spider-Man 2
Homecoming
Spider-Man
Spider-Man 3

I rewatched Homecoming yesterday, and you know what? I really enjoyed it. I cant rember why people had such problems with it. The Vulture was really well done. I like how the film kinda reminded you people like Tony and the Avengers are on another level compared to the normal people, and how it really does feel like a new take on Spidermans origins. I think it took No Way Home to come to the full realization we were watching an orgin story outside the nromal Spiderman trope, and thats retroactively made Homecoming more enjoyable.

And I got to say it again, Keaton did an amazing job as Vulture. Loved it.

Nothing wrong with Homecoming

A lot of that came from the extremely vocal Raimi fans online, specifically on Twitter. People who were kids when that trilogy came out and those are the infallible perfect Spider-Man movies that will never be surpassed, when in reality they don't hold up past nostalgia as well and the first has particularly aged pretty bad. Hell the first movie had a Macy Gray performance right in the middle of it.

I remember rewarding myself with seeing Spidey 1 at the cinema when I finished exams

So I am hearing raving reviews about it... I did not cared for Spider-man since seeing original trilogy as a teenager.
But I decided, let's rewatch original trilogy and check my mood for this. HELL YEAH

The 2002 ad 2004 movies are fucking amazing still. 3 is less so but t's ok.

I've seen all avengers movies up to including endgame. Nothing past that.

So what do I need to watch to catch up to this new movie in time to make it to cinema?
Amazing 1,2, Homecoming, Far from home ? that it ? Lol I even ordered miles morales and will get the remaster for ps5 since I skipped that game
Maybe also that animated movie ?

Yeah, that's it. You can watch the animated film but it has nothing to do with No Way Home.

Do I need to watch venom movies or something too?
Dr strange I've seen.

So I have to watch 4 more movies before going to cinema... oh boy. I will leave animated movie for later :p

Granted I hate most every super hero movie, but I don't think the Raimi movies were good in the first place.

Spider-Man 2 is still the best Spider-Man movie, so it makes sense.

I know you were poking holes in it for Peter losing his powers due to depression or something, but that’s nothing compared to the plot holes riddling No Way Home, which also happens to be an amazing film.

Raimi fans can be a bit overzealous though, sure.

IMOO Garfield is the one that most fits the Romita SM. Movies still haven't captured that essence because their narrative span a few days. Need a plot with event's that transpire over a couple of years. Only superhero movie I can remember that did something close to this was CA: First Avenger.

Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Spider-Man 1
The Amazing Spider-Man
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Spider-Man 3

This isn't that common of a list, but I strongly agree. I'd probably flip Spider-Man 3 and FFH personally, but it's kind of nice I'm not the only one who got so little out of that movie.

jufonuk

not tag worthy
Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Spider-Man 1
The Amazing Spider-Man
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Spider-Man 3
Far from home is indeed the weakest of the Holland trilogy. I can’t really argue with the list wouldn’t be my list but you do you 😀

I think everyone thought he was good, he was just in bad movies. Just look at the caliber of villains they brought from the two sets of movies.
He’s basically like Pierce Brosnan as James Bond good actor stuck in bad films…Goldeneye excluded.

I think the movie were bad, but he was passable. I do prefer Holland and Maguire too, but sure would be nice to have a more adult grown up Peter (provided they do not jump the shark and make him in his 60’s or a roided up freak).

Good, but would make it more like:

Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Spider-Man 1
Spider-Man: Far From Home
The Amazing Spider-Man
Spider-Man 3
The Amazing Spider-Man 2

So I was thinking about this movie today over lunch, and it struck me just how dumb Strange actually is. Instead of casting a spell so everyone would forget who Spider-Man is, wouldn’t it have just been easier to cast a spell so everyone would forget who Mysterio is and what he said?

He needed a hair of Peter's to make the spell he did possible ... He didn't have one of Mysterio's.

Was finally able to see it last night. I give it a 7.75. It wasn't bad but definitely not in my top 3 or 4 Spiderman movies. Something positive I will say though was that the scenes with Tobey and Andrew were amazing and brought alot of nostalgia. I loved their conversations and interactions. Tobey will always be what I envision when I think Peter Parker, but it was also awesome to see Andrew Garfield too. I honestly felt bad for his character when he recalled the Gwen Stacy tragedy. I think Holland is a great lead but I'd take either Tobey or Andrew over him anyday of the week.

Finally watched it last night, it was really good probably in my top 5 Spidy Films not sure where, definitely not #1 or #2
But the film really begins on the bridge, before that it the usual MCU Spidy but slightly better.
But it's completely different to the previous MCU Spidy films and more like the older Spider-Man films
The writing is better but still needs improvement. the cinematography is better, the music is better.
It's almost like someone else took over halfway through
but I felt it was still lacking in Hollands story
the beginning with Peter could have been better.
But I'm now actually looking forward to the future films more then I did before.
This is literally a course redirect putting Spider-Man back on the right path and following in Toby's & Andrew's footsteps.

After a third watch… it’s good, not great. Spider-Man 2 is still the champ, because the script is tighter by far. This film asks so much of you, between the goofy spells and awful decisions made by characters.

Still, it’s impossible not to be charmed. I can’t believe they brought back the other Spider-Men, and they play their parts wonderfully. I hope we see them back.
I like the relationship between Peter and his friends here too.

Some of the highest-highs in this movie, but it asks too much. Looking forward to a semi-fresh start and slightly more adult tone to the next film.

Holy shit does literally everything have to be a joke in this movie? I'm 15 minutes in and this is unbearable.

Edit: Wong's facial hair changes with every cut, lol.

Edit 2: lol they fucked up the multiverse and literally all they care about is MIT. What even is this movie, are they supposed to be 12? Why is Peter Parker acting so aloof all the time, isn't he one of the smartest people in the world?

If I had to rank them:
No Way Home
TASM + TASM 2 (for the Gwen Stacy Saga)
Far From Home
Spider-Man 2
Homecoming
Spider-Man
Spider-Man 3
Spider-Man 1&2 are in contention to be the best simply because they have the most compelling villain casting and performance. I agree that TASM & TASM 2 are very underrated. I’d say those 4 films alongside No Way Home are the best 5 movies with Spider-Man 3, Homecoming and Far From Home being trash tier.

Watched it last night thought it was just ok. Never really bought into Holland as either PP or Spiderman. 1+2 are still the best for me.

6/10

If anything this movie made want a new Tobey Maguire Spiderman movie with a more serious tone and an older and more experienced Peter Parker.
I'm really fucking tired of young and inexperienced Spiderman

The whole premise of this movie was stupid. My life is ruined because I can’t get in MIT, wahhh. The public all turn on him after he’s saved millions, where are the avengers to defend him? Where’s anyone to defend him? It’s like he’s not part of the MCU. The spell being screwed up because he keeps changing things, I guess it’s supposed to be funny but came off as stupid. Spider-Man was just an idiot throughout, he’s responsible for the death of his aunt because he couldn’t let the villains from different universes go home? WTF?! This just might be my least favorite spidey film. Seeing the other Spider-Man’s was cool, but the rest of the movie just sucked. Spider-Man 2 still the best and Tobey Maguire still the GOAT.

I’ve found the movie meh and a bit stupid ! But then again I’m not surprised. Recently anything Hollywood or streaming services make, seems to think we are stupid or something.
