Does anyone have any advice for fighting against Splattershot Pro variants when using regular Splattershots? For some reason I can't get an idea on how to get up on the Pro but my experiences so far are like hitting my squid face against a splash wall.

You know, I don't actually mind the off the hook updates with each cycle.

But when I turn it on, go through the off the hook update, try to get online and have to do a game/system update, and then when I launch the game again, it makes me watch off the hook again, THAT is fucking stupid.

Should at the very least only make me watch it once per cycle. Jesus

Or just put in a god damn skip button. Everybody wins.

It's a shorter range weapon, so you need to get in closer and be quicker-moving. You'll lose at range because they need fewer hits to kill you (though the slower fire rate means time-to-splat is more competitive).

I've never been a fan, but base/tentatek Splattershot is probably one of the most versatile weapons in the entire game. You just need to get the drop on longer-range weapons.

In a thread that got locked earlier today, someone mentioned that NoA changed Marina's personality from how she is in Japan. I inquired but didn't get an answer there, can anyone explain?

The stupidity of forcing the Off the Hook sections on the player is exacerbated by the fact that you no longer need Off the Hook to tell you what stages are available. You can do that on your phone. Hell, that's how I determine whether I want to play at any given moment or not, by making sure that the stages in rotation are ones I don't hate.

Is something from 2 years ago old enough to be a relic, because the Off the Hook updates already feel like relics from the first game that Nintendo stubbornly didn't remove.

With a short range weapon you want to spam bombs until you can close the distance.

Pearl is the sempai with idol experience, while Marina is the newbie.

They changed some of Marina's lines, so she isn't just a Marie 2.0 anymore.

But now they are pushing a bit with Pearl:

Then again this is a new one and I don't know how's the JP equivalent.

Jeez... Not a single automatic weapon for Salmon Run this time around...

Ewwww that sucks alot:/

This Salmon Run loadout. Yikes.

It's actually not too bad if everyone knows their roles with each weapon, but... yeah.
This weapon loadout makes it way more challenging than usual, which I like. Salmon Run sucks when a shift has an ideal or garbage assortment of weapons.

Well, the blaster IS automatic (though I guess you talk about rate)

It's not a set I really enjoy, and yes, some are a bit tricky for non-seasoned players, but I don't know, it makes thinks interesting.

Those being professional title but can't use non-shooter weapons properly, chargers not killing Steelheads, blasters not killing Stingers, rollers can't takeout minions and sloshing machine that can't aim.
I'd argue it's a bit easy to point fingers... For example, yes, the charger is great to shoot Steelheads, but that require some support from others. You can't charge if you're surrounded with minions.

(even if in this case, I'm not even sure, I think it's easier to take down a Steelhead with blaster which is a 2HKO without charge)

Finally! These delightfully tacky shoes with a non-trash ability!

I ordered those too yesterday! I think I'm finally good with my equipment set for a while. I have a few wishes, like to find the Clamshells dress shoes with a better ability other than Special Up and Roll Jump.

I totally disagree. This weapon loadout makes it way more challenging than usual, which I like. Salmon Run sucks when a shift has an ideal or garbage assortment of weapons.

A challenging Salmon Run is a lot more fun and fells much more rewarding. Each weapon this run has amazing damage output and I feel like all of them together have really good synergy. However all the weapons have pretty high ink consumption and questionable fire rate so it certainly keeps things interesting. Thinking about it, the loadout is alright but, like always, some randoms don't know what to do with the weapons at certain times and panic.

Hate the loadout but I had a surprisingly good series of SR today. Managed to reach 1200 pts in no time and had three 75+ eggs runs. Good RNG but, more importantly, good teammates.

It's harder to get coverage and hinders my mobility. 5 out of the 7 rounds I've played, my team always gets wiped on wave 3, because there's not enough of our ink to go round. Not saying it's impossible, it's just a really frustrating set

I actually kind of like this Salmon Run weapon set, but I would argue it'd be even more fun/challenging if it had a Pro or a .96 instead of either the Blaster or the Sloshing Machine. Blaster and Sloshing Machine almost seem like their roles are too similar.

The combination of these weapons all being less-than-ideal for covering forward turf and also being fairly slow and ink-hungry makes it a difficult set to deal with when things start to get hairy. Once you get a Drizzler or Flyfish that happens to linger around for more than a cycle or two, you suddenly have very little room to maneuver around all the lesser enemies and none of your weapons are particularly quick to act. All your forward inking occurs in straight forward lines, one shot at a time, so even once you do get a little space, you don't have much time to create more floorspace. People need to really watch each others' backs.

And also please don't be the roller and stand way the hell away guarding a pile of eggs for the final 50 seconds of a wave while everyone else is frantically fighting bosses and trying to keep the movement lanes clean. There will be plenty of other eggs, buddy. Please come and help.

Also tried to revive a teammate with the sloshing machine, and lost the round because the damn thing doesn't work. I swear I directly hit that lifesaver at least 5 times

I probably lose 2/3 matches in salmon run, but 4/5 of my losses are in the third round, so the 1/3 wins mean that i advance overall on average.

This set is good, you've got a charger which is ace for Steel Eel and Steelhead, a roller which is essential for clearing the minions (especially small fry), the blaster which has a lot of mid-range stopping power, and the sloshing machine which is likewise.

I'm so fucking heated. How do people this late in the game still don't know that during a Glowfly round, the roller can just throw the roller down and lightly tilt the stick to become an invincible wall??

For fuck's sake.

The sloshing machine has a fucked hitbox when trying to revive teammates. It's fucked me in at least 2 games.

You really understand this game and have the ability to express that knowledge in text! I'm not at all being sarcastic here!

Have you considered doing a bit of writing on Splatoon strategy? Like maybe weapon analysis, map/mode strategies, team coordination theory etc.?

I have a hard time expressing myself when it comes to talking about this game, even though I've been playing since Splatoon 1 launch summer and I would consider myself decently skilled with a number of weapons - I can never get my thoughts across regarding this strange ass game!

Yeah, roller is the MVP, too bad most play lone wolf style. Only finished one SR, got wiped on the third in all the others. Grillers on high tide at wave 3 (profreshional) is impossible unless you have awesome teamplay.

Roller on the high ground is basically the key to winning every griller round. A horizontal flick or two and the griller is stopped.

I think I probably won't make it to professional,Overachiever is already like living in a nightmare

Some of the things that's really important in Salmon Run are to learn bosses' movements and how you can kill them with minimal help and in a more efficient manner. And bomb throw skill should be mastered if you want to reach profreshional.

It's also important to know which bosses you can't kill. Like, if you've got the dualies, don't try to shoot a Steelhead(unless you're above him). You're never gonna hit him. If you're a charger, don't try to shoot the Stingers.

Also, if you've got a weapon with good paint coverage, you need to stick close to the basket and keep the area clean.

learning is one thing, being overwhelmed by them is another problem, there are so many times that there are too many bosses attacking at once.

Also,do you guys have any recommedations for the Aerospray twins builds?

Only thing that frustrates me in Salmon Run these days is that people neglect painting walls. Is it through a habit built from playing turf wars or just people not used to thinking vertically? NPC pathing means a lot of enemies and bosses will take the long way around to chase you if you climbed a wall.

It's stupid if they're not doing it in turf wars either.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but googling a little about the game before purchase the thing I understood is that the multiplayer is region locked and if I buy the US version I won't be able to play against Euro players ?

I think the working hypothesis is that Splatoon 2 is ping-locked when playing against randoms. Depending on the time of day, you will therefore see more or fewer people from other regions. You can play with friends from anywhere, however.

Splatfests appear to be actually region-locked.

Only during splatfest is region locked, you can play with people worldwide most of the time. But the game will match you with players with better ping so you won't play with foreign players often.

The thing is that I just added funds in my US account the other day and the whole region handling makes me pause. I read a poster somewhere saying that he bought a foreign version and couldn't find players in the afternoon. Maybe it's bullshit but it's concerning.
How important are Splatfest for the 'experience' of the game ? I'm a Splatoon noob, are they worth buying your region's version or is it a matter a choosing if fries are better than chicken without any importance at all ?
I get the feeling I will have to buy the EU version and that pisses me off with the euro pricing, and that's without talking about the 50 bucks I just dropped in my US account.

What I get from this is (and I really don't want to be a nintendo hater here) that 2017 Nintendo isn't region locked. Except when they don't accept your cc or paypal. Except when the game doesn't offre multilanguage support. Except when some online events may be region locked.
It's not the end of the world but I will need to do a lot more research before buying a switch game than a ps4 one.

Are there sites that details included games languages ?
What would you do in my place knowing that I'm european, buy the EU version ?

Damn that was the closest I've ever gotten the Rainmaker without outright winning. I was literally on the pedestal and rising to slam it down when I got killed; the score showed "1." It would have really sucked if we lost after that but fortunately we killed them during overtime.
