I really hate...HATE...the News update once the game starts. Go away and let me dive right in. I don't care. I have no control over which stages appear anyway
I got Munkyspace with all 3 of my Killer Wails lol.
just tap down and Y and youll flip the camera 180 degrees. much faster when needing to escape
Better range tooRegarding custom Jr.
You might find that lag prevents you from making good use of distruptors.
If you want the echolocate special with a Jr I'd suggest the Zapper 85 instead (IIRC this has the same stats)
Damn guess you didn't bother to mention it was my first time playing as the rollerI was backed to a cliff once in Saltspray Rig at the top area facing against Walkman04 playing a roller. He turned into a Kraken and I immediately just submerged myself in ink in place figuring that I'm pretty much a goner anyway. He jumped around trying to hit me but I guess he just missed the corner. Another of his teammate super jumped to him and he ran out of Kraken after several attempts at trying to locate me.
All the time I never moved an inch, then I popped up and splatted the guy who just landed and then him.
It was good times.

That's why I don't check the shops until the morningI hate playing Splatoon past midnight, I don't get to wake up to new gear.![]()
It's tomorrow isn't it? (sunday at 3am for people like me in the UK)Oh hey, old news I'd assume but Inkbrush is coming out tonight at 7PST.
I'll give you credit though, you definitely destroyed me on saltspray that day, I just remember constantly being splatted one gameI definitely didn't know it was your first time, everyone makes funny mistakes.![]()
Squid Sisters haters just mad they ain't fresh
(I find myself instinctively performing that motion though it's so dumb but I can't help it)

Anybody have any idea what might be going on with my friend? He can't connect to any splatoon matches, just gets connection errors. He can play Mario kart 8 online and every other game on the Wii U just fine. He tried turning off his fire wall on his router but that did nothing. He got a brand new router and that STILL did nothing.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as dismissive. I can understand your frustration. I really love this game, but I think it has kinks to work out for sure. Sometimes people get specials way too early in a match, and that can be really frustrating.
Personally, my biggest issue with the game right now is matchmaking, and how they divide up teams. It's been way too common for me, where matchmaking will put all the low levels on one team, and it makes no sense, when they are playing with levels 14-20. I know that your level in Turf War doesn't = skill, as a bad player can be 20. But at least in my experience, usually when a team gets all low level when playing high level, they get rolled hard.
I guess in general, my experience with Splatoon has been that, really close games don't happen as often as I would like (although Ranked kind of fix's that), and a team usually wins substantially with the other team getting crushed. And usually that team has two or more players doing 200 pts each.
All this said, purely anecdotal experiences. And I know nothing about matchmaking balancing. It's just been my experience.
Rollers with Kraken are my biggest nemesis in ranked. I've adapted my playstyle around taking the opponent rollers out. The trick is to prevent them getting the special in the first place, there are certain areas rollers always seem to flock to and well, I go there to contain/kill them with my long range assault weapon and it works very well (unless they are Japanese and lag)
If they collect ink at the base then you can just 4v3 the zone, so it works out either way.
lolSorry for this seeker DaBoss![]()
Ah my bad, I guess it was a mistranslation of the tweet earlier.Splatoon's Tumblr says 7pm PST tonight. Which... I guess would be tomorrow for you! I'm bad at timezones.
Oh you are fine, you didn't seem rude or dismissive. I agree, the matchmaking experience is a bit shoddy right now. The game is such a joy when it works though. If I could describe Splatoon is that it's a game with the highest highs and the lowest lows. When you lose a zone due to lag, derpy teammates, or some such BS it is SOUL CRUSHING lol. When you come back in overtime and when the game when the opposing team only needed one more point it makes you FEEL LIKE A GOD.![]()
DEAR NINTENDO: Please show the queue timer on the gamepad.
Read that you should just quit and rejoin after every ranked match. Is this actually working? Because it sure as hell seems like it's actually working.
Oh hey, old news I'd assume but Inkbrush is coming out tonight at 7PST.
lol just got matched with 3 splattershot jr and it was impossible to hold the zone in warehouse. We lost 100% due to weapons in my team. I don't know what to think of all of this bullshit tbh. Maybe I should quit playing.
Cheers. I would say we should play together sometime, but playing with friends is really shoddy and more trouble then it's worth. I guess maybe after the patch I'll jump in and add myself to a list of GAF Splatoon players. Once things are improved, I think doing GAF Splat parties would be incredible.
Motion controls are going off and that saddens me. They got the implementation completely wrong in my opinion.
They're already pretty awesome. The troubles are pretty minor and worth it anyways.

How so? I find them completely superior to any dual stick control scheme.
You have to get amiibo and beat the challenges in them.I rememeber seeing more mini games in a Nintendo direct. How do I get those? I only have squid jump
How much have you tested it? I also found the restriction janky as hell when I first tried the game, but after a half hour or so I acclimated, and the controls are significantly more precise (and quick!).I'm usually a vocal champion of motion/pointer controls but the bizarro, nonsensical restriction of vertical analogue aiming in combination with motion controls feels absolutely terrible to me. Almost every other motion controlled aiming game I've played does a combination of analogue + motion and it works beautifully. Why this only half works is baffling.

I think the reason the second stick will only control the X axis is because the vertical control can easily be managed by subtle tilts of the wrist. Same doesn't apply to the horizontal motions as it becomes much more easier to control that with just the thumb. It feels much more smoother and eventually becomes second nature to deal with it as a form of minute precision.
