Nothing other than the usual comments about how little content is actually available at launch and the really empty release calendar for the next few months. There's also the other possibility where this is all intentional and they really are pushing games as a service with Splatoon, and the staggered releases are just a way of keeping interest up as they build additional content.
Until we get more information or a postmortem all we can do is speculate but it really doesn't hinder my enjoyment of the game either way. If it really is just a result of a rushed release I don't think that's a problem at all.
Yeah. You can reroll and add slots. So if you really have clothes you link look great, you can spend the money with Spike and get the look you want and also great stats for them.
About to pick this up, any tips for just starting? And is it a good idea to get through the single player campaign first?
True, but I haven't had any gear with a completely worthless main ability yet, so... whatever.Nope. You can't reroll the primary ability, and for some abilities there are precious few pieces of gear that have them, especially the exclusives like ninja squid.
Yeah. Spend a lot of money until you get the desired sub abilities. You can add slots. So if you really have clothes you think look great, you can spend the money with Spike and get the look you want and also have more slots for abilities on them.
Me too, but since you can reroll abilities, it is possible to have the best look you want and the abilities as well.
The primary ability doesn't reroll.

If only this were true -- you can't reroll main abilities, making gear customization restricting. SuuuucksMe too, but since you can reroll abilities, it is possible to have the best look you want and the abilities as well.

Right now I'm using this:
![]()
Alternating between the Dynamo Roller, .52 Gal, and Splattershot Pro. Splattershot Pro benefits the least from the shoes, so I change it to something else when using that.
Also, managed to get a shot where my inkling is blinking lol.
Anyone doing a GAF lobby right now? I just got back to A- and feel great. The B+ and higher Splat Zones is a lot of fun.
I really think a lot of the abilities are worthless and can easily be negated by numerous others. The increased defense against attack ability is an example. again a rapid fire rate, it doesn't matter.
In my mind, you need to be in the game so increased speed to respawn, swim, etc are crucial. All things being equal, if your opponents are taking longer to get back in the game than you are, you gain more ground, regardless of the mode.
I don't know that more ink/ slowing down depletion helps especially if your weapon already has a fast rate of fire. It should rest on your skill to get out of one on ones and sneaking up on your opponent.
I played with abilities for a little bit but found them unnecessary for me to win games, which i have been doing consistently.
How do you manage with the pro? I use 2 ink savers sometimes and it still eats a ton of inkRight now I'm using this:

If anyone is interested, here is my personal Splatoon equipment inventory. You can see how few pieces of gear get certain abilities.
Earlier reports had said that there might be 50 shoes and headgear, and 100 shirts. You can see that I'm creeping up on all the shoes and headgear, and about half done with the shirts.
Yes. Yes, but with diminishing returns.Does the primary ability on clothes add more than a sub ability?
do they stack?

That's the equivalent of 2 Ink Recovery Up as main abilities. It helps recover ink fast, especially since I'm gonna be using Splat Bombs a lot.Man, four ink refillers? Does your tank refill like instantly when you submerge?
You just have to refill ink a lot. So refilling ink faster is a must. How do you manage with the pro? I use 2 ink savers sometimes and it still eats a ton of ink

Ah I need to see if I have that perkAnd Damage Up can stack, but there are caps so that nearly every weapon cannot kill earlier.

Stolen!
Yes and yes. They stack, but less and less with each additional slot of same ability that you add to your loadout.
So unless there's a particular advantage you covet, you'll get the most out of diversifying your abilities.
Yeah, people should feel free! I would love to see it completed.
It'll be easier for me to check what I have and don't have by changing TV source than clicking menus in game.
Why the "Added Ability" lines though? For ones you have upgraded?
I'll keep what you have on there and just add my own so I know of some clothes I don't have. Give myself a headstart lol.
Anybody have any idea what might be going on with my friend? He can't connect to any splatoon matches, just gets connection errors.
I've told you before, it only helps you 2HKO people who *do* use Defense Up! You will always 2HKO people without Defense Up.Damage Up allows me to two-shot with the .52 Gal against people who don't use Def Up.
there are too many joke opportunities here and I'm afraid to make any of them
Do we know at what point it's basically not worth it anymore?
Scrolls are hidden is the levels. You might need to take a second or third go through the level taking it more slowly to make sure you don't miss a hidden area. I certainly did. Finally sat down and started the single player. Wow. Cleared the first two areas (worlds?)
I think I may like this even more than the multiplayer. Regardless, perfect compliment to it. I still don't entirely understand how you're supposed to collect scrolls (I've gotten 1 from each boss and 1 accidentally from a normal level)
You know I might have to eat these words a bit. I played ranked and had some fun. My win rate was about 50%, one-sided matches ended in less than 3 minutes (making it more efficient than my turf war calculations) and the struggles were pretty refreshing (plus nearly all of them went into overtime, 336 points for 5 minutes whoo hoo).Yes if you get a total knockout win and the match goes on for less than 3 minutes it is more efficient than turf war giving 1800 (at C- if you're A+ it is more like 4500 I hear) assuming an average of 900 for the turf wars. But the problem is my win rate is more like 33% (leaving me stuck in place in C-) and matches go on for longer than 3 minutes but not quite make it into overtime so I end up getting way less. Except frustration and anger, I get bags of that.
Apparently run speed up only works when you are not firing (i.e. not rolling). Sorry dynamo roller, you're really just a .52 gal shotgun that can also roll at a snails pace.I want a set with 12 damage ups
And a set with 12 defense ups
And a set for rollers with 12 run speed ups
Have him call Nintendo support. They'll guide him through the process of finagling with his router settings. Can usually find something that works.
Yeah, it lets me preserve the fact that the gear only started with one or two slots and I added more with Spyke. So when I share it with people they don't get the wrong impression that it was 3 star gear to begin with.
I made some dumb decisions but that was just because I could, with what I had, in those few hours I had access to the Spyke glitch.
Is it time we start thinking about the next thread title
How about
Splatoon |OT2| Ima remix ya thread
Yes and it's 30k per slot (or a full reroll of sub abilities)Do you have to be 20 to add more slots to your gear?
