Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

I'm not gonna change my Mii name. >.>

Besides, my Mii name is the same as my GAF username.

Did Smashley do something crazy?

Not crazy, but I never managed to kill the MF lol. The bubbler was somehow always on, and blaster means one-hit kill :(

If you guys see me now, it's my sister lol

This GAME! I can't believe how much fun i'm having. I can't seem to put it down. Reminds me of what made Counter Strike soo good. Simple level design but fantastic game play! I'm really going to have to go out and buy these Amiibos.

Also, an added benifit of using [GAF] tag in your mii name is that entering gaf rooms is incredibly easy. I'm going by [GAF]Slime now. Some people might want to drop the brackets to save some space for a name.

Edit: my nnid is ChromeComet, add me and lets play!

I dunno why but it's taking me forever to get used to the controls in this game. I tried without gyro for a while but it just doesn't feel right so I'm back to using gyro. Getting better but still finding myself struggling. I still manage to get decent scores but I definitely don't feel like I have the same control as other shooters. I'll persevere though.

Checked out this guy to see about buying some of his gear and had a good laugh at his Miiverse post.

Haha, awesome

I played 12 hours of Splatoon over the weekend and I don't regret a minute of it. I'm so glad I bought this.

Same boat, almost level 10, beat the single player, some Amiibo challenges, and played 14 hours.

The only thing that makes me mad, is that the challenges shouldn't be Amiibo gated. The gear yes, not the challenges. So the amiibos just net you some gear, but anyone can play the challenges and maybe get the extra arcade games. Or for the sake of pete make something write to the Amiibo... anything...

I've really come to like the rollers, mainly the Krak-on Roller and the Dynamo Roller. I remember thinking during pre-release that I wasn't gonna use them much, but then that Japanese video demonstrating the roller's shotgun capability and that just made it look fun.

The Dynamo Roller requires a bit more effort, but using it like a shotgun is so satisfying, especially when you predict where your opponent is gonna move and you have that splash attack ready to go. And it is the only roller that can let you refill your ink tank with a special without having to stop rolling. And the Sprinkler can help you get that special meter up.

Nothing crazy, just using the thing correctly, fulfilling its cheap ass purpose of getting cheap kills without having to aim. The range on that splash is truly retarded.
The range is ridiculously short lol. And when a Blaster uses a bubbler, you can just shoot at them and make them get pushed back. Of course you need a weapon with some range for that. Backlot was doing that to me earlier today, so I basically was at a disadvantage whenever I bubbled when facing him.

Maybe you guys should stop using the Jr. or Aerospray. :^)
Wait what. I'm rank 17 and it's not in my store.
You need to unlock it through single player.

Huh, I adapted pretty well. Maybe try doing some of the missions first, where you don't have to feel as frantic? Pretend there's no gyro but leave it on so you end up making instinctual adjustments but aren't relying on it to do everything.

Where in single player? I've finished everything.

Easier said than done! And I'm not even using Jr. or Aerospray: currently me and my sister are enjoying the .56 Gal with seeker and inkstrike. Had fun with the Splatershot Pro before, but didn't manage to handle the fast ink drain, so I went back to the .56.

Regarding the great zapfish...

Anyone think it looks like the pokemon Whiscash?

And when are they gonna make an Octoling Amiibo?
They probably are saving it for the new mode where you can play as an octoling with different abilities. They were afraid that having too much content would terrify Wii U buyers however (who don't know what shooters are), so the Amiibos are probably just in some warehouse somewhere waiting for the new mode to be released.

Oh, and yes!

What the hell are you talking about?

Yeh, don't get me wrong I'm managing ok. I mostly manage to still perform well in games but it feels like I'm actively reminding myself of how the controls work rather than it being an instinctual thing. I'm assuming that it'll just come with time but it's just a weird thing for me, normally I can adapt to things like this within an hour or so. Practice makes perfect :)

Ahh, that makes sense, the .56 Gal has a slow fire rate, so yea, it would be easy for a Blaster to take you out.

The problem I have with the dynamo roller is I have no range options at all since the subweapon is just the beakon, and there's no gtfo option like the kraken if things get dicy. Still, it's pretty fantastic, just need to equip defence up gear so I can survive that .5 of a second delay when splashing ink

ahhhhhhhh i thought it was weird i didn't get one from the final boss. I looked it up and didn't realize I missed it.

Hope you're up for fighting the boss all the way through again.

A lot of fun the first time, but I am not sure I would want completely play through it all at least not for a couple of days.

Use the right stick to get in the general vicinity of where you want to shoot, then use the gyro to fine tune your aim. It takes a little getting used to but once you get it you'll never want the gyro off again.

guys i just finished the final boss...and it's amazing

that boss is one of the best things I've played in a while
