Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Some heartbreaking 1% losses today; it seems I've finally hit the point where I see most Turf War games as "How badly are we delaying the other team from doing their jobs?" Perhaps it's time to go to ranked?

That final boss:

Was pretty tough for me, took several tries. I'm not some amazing gamer but I can USUALLY hold my own. But this was a nice, true final boss: difficulty was pretty darn tough but not impossible. Enjoyed all of the single player levels!

I think my router's been doing odd things - every wireless device I own has been throwing a fit the last two days until I restarted it, either disconnecting or getting really short range etc.

So because of that every minute or so my controller was losing sync with the console for five to ten seconds at a time, leaving me spinning in circles, shooting at the floor and unable to move. And I still didn't lose any of the normal matches I played, or come lower than second place in my team. I even managed to get a kill while having absolutely no control over my squid.

Any news on when the post-launch modes come out? Has something new already released? Thinking about when to buy this.
No news so far, but I have a feeling that they might add Tower Control by the end of the month or in the first week of July. Then again, it can just as easily be added in the August update.

Only weapons and 2 new maps have been added so far.

Not nearly enough kills that round. I got lazy

Stop being lazy. =P

My highest score for now.

In other news: I've finally reached LVL20.

I was trying out a few new weapons and clothing combinations
still gonna stay with the aerospray OPOPOP!
and realised something.

This game NEEDS some sorting options in the menus!

No news, but personally I'm expecting a new mode near the end of the month or the start of July. Updates so far have shown they want to space out things evenly up until August, and since we know there are at least 2 modes left, it would make sense with the schedule.

Splat Zones in early June
Tower Control in late June/early July
Rainmaker in late July/early August

Triple kill to start the game and I die because I can't jump 2 inches higher :(

That's it for me. I meant to get off an hour ago. So very tired

I don't like the 3 round burst gun. It has terrible range, takes more than 2 rounds to kill, and isn't fast. If the range was as far as the squelcher, I could see it being used more often.

Terrible range? That's overstating it.

It takes two shots(button presses) to kill. I'm curious what the ttk difference is between it and the gals.

I don't know what you mean by fast.

If we imagine each line in the testing are as 5 feet/yards/whatever unit of measurement you can come up with, the actual hit box is only 15, but paints 20. It also seems to me that not all 3 shots go 15 feet (although this could be an error on my part). This weapon could be compared to the .96 gal since it takes 2 hits to kill and has a similar range.
The .96 gal has the advantage in the range department by about 2.5 feet (half the line). You could also compare it to the .52, which will beat its range but the .52 will excel as the rate of fire. This weapon is like an in between from the .52 and .96, except you can't hold the trigger down for easy mode.

The time in between each clicks isn't as long as I initially thought. It seems spamming it isn't the right way to do this, and this gun seems to shoot faster if you have the timing down for it. I can try to upload a video to show this if this doesn't make sense, and it may make more sense seeing this.

It's not as bad as I initially thought, but it would take me time to get use to this gun. I'm not sure if I'll bother with it since there are other options out there that are better, but I can see this being deadly in the right hands.

maybe it's not so bad after all
Something I think you're forgetting is the disruptor. This weapon has weaknesses but they can be lessened with good use of the sub. A gal may beat it in a straight fight but you can toss a disruptor, flank and win. The weapon is much better when you use the sub to make up for its weaknesses.

I figured out the firing timing already, no need for a video.

GGs tonight everyone! Some results screens from our glorious battles:

Here I got the best pre-bonus score, but lost to Red and Tingly anyway :(

Red with a monstrous 19 kills!
I guess that's what happens when you abandon all notions of painting your base and just kill the enemy team XD

This is what happens to the map when it's a couple GAFfers (me, Red, Tingly... any others?) against, presumably, little Japanese children :( We eventually dropped out to find some competition and not feel so bad about ourselves.

Leading the way with a delicious 9-0 k/d and top score. I think I ended up getting top score most games since I was the only one painting our base, but I didn't often end up at the top of the kill list.

I think I killed that sniper at least 4 of the 5 times he/she died. Pretty sure they hated me by the end because I was on the hunt, and I was merciless! >:D

By FAR the most crushing defeat of the evening for me in terms of morale. We absolutely HAD this match, BlueSilver and Tingly! It was the Saltspray one where I think we had probably 70% of the map and it all fell apart at the end. Big time bummer.

Overall, great times! Thanks for playing, GAF :)

Yeah, I had a couple decent matches with it, and what it comes down to is that weapon relies on its sub-weapon probably more than any other in the game. Disruptors are cheap and, when used, generally earn you or a nearby ally an easy kill.

Two nozzlenose users hitting each other with the disruptor at about the same time makes for some interesting 1v1s.

Oh yeah, that last one was particularly sad.
