Yes. The game is installed on my Wii U since Friday.
Is that only available if you took part in the demo? I'm sure I couldn't find an option for pre load when I checked yesterday.

No, I installed the game before playing the demo actually. Are you in Australia? Someone from Australia was saying on Smashboards they couldn't find the option to pre-order/load the game on their Wii U.

I wasn't feeling well yesterday, so I've yet to play the game outside of a few rounds at E3, which were great. It's been one of my most anticipated games since.
For those who have: What is the single player content like? Is it something you can really call a campaign and beat? I doubt that, but am curious since I haven't found a lot of details.

I haven't played it but the singleplayer mode is said to be roughly 5-6 hours long, which I think is decent for a multiplayer-focused game

So, I feel like this has probably been asked and answered multiple times, but I haven't really been following the news too closely because of finals. What is the local multiplayer like? Very limited is my assumption, seeing as the game uses the gamepad quite a bit.

Thanks. I know GAF can be pretty brutal when it comes to how a person plays in gameplay videos, so that's a nice thing to hear. I'm nearly Level 10, and I'll do some Splat Zone stuff once I reach it.
I REALLY want this game on day one but fuuuck I'm so mad right now. I was going to preorder the game but I just found out videogame prizes here in Mexico increased and Splatoon will be $1,200 pesos wich is around 80 dollars! This totally sucks and because of that now I might have to wait who knows when till I can find a copy at a reasonable price... I would go digital but my console is almost at full and sjkhfakljhs

Looking at this:
- The standard Special gauge loss for dying/falling is 50% (vs. 33% in the demo where one piece of gear had Special Saver as its Main ability)
- It's possible to have twice the same Extra ability on a piece of gear:
Reminder: we've seen before that it's also possible to have the same ability both as Main & Extra on the same piece of gear:
- The Ninja Squid / Stealth Jump icons glow while active, though I fail to see what's the point of that:
(speculation) Since your Extra abilities aren't displayed on-screen during the match, I assume that both Ninja Squid and Stealth Jump are only available as Main abilities; they cannot be Extra abilities. This means that pieces of gear that have an ability that can only be a Main ability are more valuable than others.

I missed the firetest myself, but from everything I've gathered so far of Splatoon, Metroid Blast aerial mode should be close enough.
Main thing that made me love this is that this girl/guy understands that you can just shoot straight to cover the ground, you dont need to actually aim on the ground.

The only thing dampening my excitement for this game is uncertainty regarding the availability of amiibo. I want the exclusive gear and arcade games locked to them.
If I understood the Direct correctly, everyone gets Squid Jump, but for all of the other arcade games, you need the amiibo.

sadly you are correct. I want those other mini-games dammit but not for the price of an amiibo. hopefully there's a way to unlock them but I'm not too optimistic about that ;__;
Squid Jump is the only game I have.
Hit Level 10 but no one was in the Ranked lobby. Bought a new gun and explored more of the Story Mode. Will capture some MP and Story Mode stuff tonight.

So let's say I buy a new hat, shirt, and sneakers on Monday. Then say on Tuesday the shop is updated with a new hat, shirt and sneakers. Do I keep all the gear I buy or is the old gear replaced with the new gear and I can no longer access the gear I bought on Monday?
