Mine is going slow as well but it will eventually be here so who cares.

Well, I played a bit of it...

I think I'll use my CRT to play this game. LCDs are not the best option for games that heavily rely on darkness...

Still, it looks great in SM3.0, though not as good as I expected. The performance really does take a dive, though it was perfectly playable at 1024x768 (just not optimal). With HDR disabled, however, the game ran at a nice 60 fps (most of the time) and allow for AA and AF without destroying performance. I use SM3.0 still, but I've simply disabled the HDR option (which looks really cool, but costs too many frames).

As for the game itself, I dunno yet...

I do not feel comfortable playing SC on the PC. Something was just wrong about the whole thing and the camera and mouse movements felt very strange. Unfortunately, I also didn't spot anything particularly new or special about the level. It felt just like the older SC games, which may keep me away from it. I noticed a few additional pathways you could take, but it still had that same linear feel.

I'm also disappointed in how Tobin's music is used. They only kick it in during combat, it seems, and some of the music cues seem abrupt. I was hoping they would really bring the music to the front and tie it into the entire game...but I'm now convinced that these guys know nothing about the usage of music. Also, I had to turn the sound to 60% in order to even really HEAR the music. Otherwise, it was much to quiet to enjoy and didn't add much to the game.
