So, how likely will we see the opening of the next season showing Negan going to town on [character] if this POV cliffhanger is the hand we're dealt?
To me, it's going to be between:
- Glenn, with how how much focus we've had with him and Maggie. There are also a lot of relationships cropping up that sort of takes the wind out of their staple in the show. I also want all of those plot-armor moments to amount to something worthwhile. It would also give Maggie and Carol some great interactions if the latter somehow makes it out of this season, in having to essentially raise a child alone since Rick has the best babysitters in the world to be qualified for that guiding role.
- Daryl, whose purpose on the show is currently reduced to revenge on Dwight.
- Abraham, if Daryl is chosen to remain as Rick's lieutenant and they want Sasha to be a miserable, unlikeable character again.
Aaron could be still in the running, but killing another partner in the only other established LGBT relationship in the show and him being generally in the background seems like an ill-fitting choice by Kirkman and the AMC crew.
