Actually, there is an episode where Spongebob first meets Sandy, and wants to go to her house, so he gets Patrick to help him on how to act. Also, there's an episode where Spongebob takes Mr. Krab's daughter to the prom (granted, he's asked to take her, but still).

I think this whole thing is stupid. Spongebob is one of my favorite shows (yes, I have the mind of a child), and i've NEVER gotten the impression that he was gay. And I have excellent gaydar

I saw both of those and there didn't seem to be any real romantic implications, just Spongebob's awkwardness. If I recall, I think he didn't even really take Pearl to the prom, wasn't it like some kind of robot dummy thing at the end? :lol

This is a good thing. Once people like this start popping out of the woodwork becasue there is some mandate on morality people are going to start thinking do I really want to be associated with a guy who is looking for subliminal messages from a cartoon sponge?
