Attack on Titan ep.1 (English dub)

Well, I already get cable TV, so as long as it's on there, why not watch it again? Do we know if they're using the BD masters or not?

Anyway, it'll be hard to fully judge the dub until episode 3 when most of the cast shows up, but for now, with the exception of Papenbrook's cringe-worthy performance as young Eren, it's manageable. Still don't understand why they decided to use "mi-kuh-suh" as the pronunciation instead of "mi-kah-sah" though.

Shame they had to gut the hell out of both the OP and ED, but that's U.S. broadcast television time constraints for you, I guess. EDIT: interesting, Jason DeMarco just said in a series of tweets that the shortened OP was a mistake that happened somehow. Hmm.

Mekakucity Actors 4 & Captain Earth 5
Yeah, I'm done with these. I was forcing myself to watch at this point and I have better things to do on my Saturdays.

Escha & Logy - 4

Show continues to be the most enjoyable show of the Spring season for me. I got a good chuckle at the end of this episode.

Escha remains adorable, even when she's angry. I do wish the production values for this show were a bit higher though. But even with that, I'm glad this show returned to the nice, slice-of-life antics I expected from the beginning. Though there's no telling when it will go back to the RPG battles like the last episode, seeing as an RPG is what this show is based off of.

stealing 2nd when its 0-1 outs when its dude on 1st and 3rd isn't a 'mandatory play' in japan baseball? Shit is done all the time when i played in middle/highschool.

Garden of Sinners 5: Paradox Spiral

Well, that was certainly a visually and chronologically dense film which exploited the symbolic language of film and nonlinear editing to its maximum effect. It's actually impressive just how much director Takayuki Hirao and Ufotable were able to elevate what is still, at its core, a Nasu story featuring flat characters and magical gobbledygook. There was also some impressive sakuga at times, especially in that first fight
with the zombies.

If you only watch one Garden of Sinners movie(and you should), watch this one.

I am not disappoint.

Captain Earth 5

That feeling you get when you absolutely know someone's going to be voiced by Akira Ishida. As expected of a not-Kaworu gene donor...thing.

Because there are better ways to spend your time.
Not like I have much else to do late on Saturday nights.
That was actually a Funi mistake, from the sounds of it.
Yes, I already knew; I looked at DeMarco's Twitter and was editing my post as you posted this. And there's no proof it was Funimation's error or anyone's in particular.
edit: here, he outright says it wasn't their fault.
And the ending was always going to be cut anyway, so that's not really a problem.

Rio Rainbow Gate 1-4 - I think this show is making me dumb. Its not particularly funny and it doesn't seem to make any sense. The idea of a show set in a casino is fine, but I'd rather it be something a bit more grounded like Working or something. This is just dumb.

demarco making a good point on his twitter about preserving the OP/ED stuff. If they do that, no room for the Toonami flavor stuff and it won't be Toonami anymore.

edit:

Because there sure as shit ain't gonna be less commercials, friends.

Catch up on a bunch of stuff.

One Week Friends and World of Still Beautiful. Still continue to be my favouites of the season.

Mahouka (ep5), Dragonar (ep5), Kawaii Complex (ep5), Flaggs (ep4), Date a Live (s2 ep 4), Nisekoi (ep17).

Still continue to enjoy all these to varying degrees.

Dragonar continues to be the breasty show of the season, though its obviously a minnow compared to kings like Maken-ki.

With Kawaii whilst I'm enjoying it I feel I'd like a Mayumi show more.

Date a Live. Curious to see where its going with Shido. The end confused me a bit.

Nisekoi. So Raku is a master of festival games. not enough Onodera and Marika for my liking.

Mahouka. Continues on pretty much exactly as a remember the manga version. Surprisingly little Miyuki.

Seikoku no dragonar - 02
What a needlessly complicated master - slave relationship !

Also, we have crazy researcher that became a professor , an oujou-sama with tsundere mode on/off , a maid that hide her deck of cards because it's not the right time to use them and plenty of other stupid things.

Yeah i like it.

That never stopped them from doing full OPs for the first show!

I saw the PV for Heat Haze Days and compared to Mekakucity Actors episode 4, it's really better than the Shaft version. The PV is more emotional and gruesome and you also feel sympathetic towards Hibiya and Hiyori. It wasn't a terrible episode but Shaft could of done a better job and actually made it more emotional for the viewers. Music is also better.

People want them for every show apparently.

@PaidMoneyOnline
@Clarknova1 This is why your ratings wont go up like you want and why we will continue to watch subs ripped from horriblesubs/CR

@Clarknova1
That last RT is everything wrong with anime fandom today, in a simple nutshell.

Yeah, I don't think anyone (with common sense) expects them to keep the full OP for every single show, they just want it for the headlining show out front.

I really don't know why DeMarco is rising to provocation and replying to all these trolls and angry people instead of just making his point that there was a mistake/miscommunication somewhere down the line and he's going to work on getting it fixed ASAP.

Gundam 00 S2: 3 - 4

YOU'RE NOT LOCKON DAMMIT. YOU'RE NOT THE REAL LOCKON.

Damn it, I'm sorry, but this is just lazy and insulting. Seeing this Lockon in action just fuels my rage on how it demeans how the better Lockon went out. That's basically who S2 Lockon is. Not quite as good as the original Lockon, and that's pretty much it for his character. So far anyway.

Wait what?
Allelujah is no longer with Hallelujah? Well...that's dissapointing. His struggle with his other half is kinda what made me really like his character.

Show still continues to be spectacular with its action sequences with these last two episodes though.

Demarco is a known hot head. He does God's work for the cartoon/anime community but he is known to lose his temper pretty easily :p

Does your company need an actual person on twitter instead of a bot you can program to say things without ever actually looking at the twitter

Haikyuu 4:
I'm not sure this needed to be split over multiple episodes given that this is really just the basic setup for what will come on later, but at the same time it sort of works. We get some nice moments with Kageyama and Hinata, and there were some really dramatic moments in the match as they start to work together. The ending scene was really hype worthy, too. I'm looking forward to seeing them work together some more, and hopefully shut that Tsukki guy up for a while.

Seikoku no Dragonar - 03
Magical sword "Aix-les-bains" ?
Wait it's french , but i'm not exactly sure of what the writters of this show think this means.

That's the most stupid usage of french in 2014 so far.

Anyway, someone who has platiniumed danganronpa , knows that you can't waste DATE TICKETS.
Also , that was a nice way to explain the circustances for ep 1 dreams, i hope there is an explanation for the very first scene planned at some point.

There was a very decent amount of : chet in this episode and i'm unsure of the point of that tentacles cloth destrying scene ... the benefits of watching the non censored version i guess.

This is, at least for me, the most consistently good show this season. Granted, I'm not watching Mushi-shi (still have to finish season 1).
