I didn't know Pokemon had video games until years later. When I was a kid I always thought Pokemon was this cool cartoon with an awesome card game

Pokemon was what really inspired me to draw. Though the best Pokemon manga was probably more of an influence.

Let's see...mine should be Ninja Robots but my first subbed was Power stone, Rurouni Kenshin, Grander Musashi RV, Cooking Master Boy, Gatekeepers.etc basically those who have AXN cable.
Didn't get started into it until D.N.Angel and went full steam ahead when Haruhi was broadcast.

I was big into the Club Nintendo magazine. They had this very cool special issue Pokémon-related with hundreds of pages of cool info regarding the making of the games and even the anime. That's where I came to know about the James-with-boobs episode.
Club Nintendo in the nineties was the shit. They started to suck after they got affiliated with Nintendo Power.

I think that I was aware of Sailor Moon even before I was aware of Pokemon, but my parents wouldn't let me watch it because they thought it would turn me gay (no lie).

Little Nemo was anime? Mind blown.
My first exposure to hentai was pretty disappointing. It was on some [redacted] and the poor art and animation coupled with the awful VA made it impossible to enjoy. I've tried a few more afterward and they've all been the same way. The cost and effort it takes to actually animate something runs counter to the cheap trashy exploitative model of the pornographic industry, or so I feel.
I am tempted to watch Legend of the Overfiend for its historical value, however.
