What sets Takahashi apart is that her female leads have lives.I agree, the magical girlfriend premise is deeply stupid.

Fate/Zero 5
Did Berserker really need to be some awful CG thing?
One of the subtexts I like in this is the sense of camaraderie between some of the servants that their selfish, cowardly, and petty masters can't understand.
Gary Sues are not magical boyfriends. That's just plain shoujo.Any shoujo where the boyfriend always know the perfect thing to say to her.
Anyone who does not like CG Berserker is not my friend. If you're not my friend, there are consequences.
I like CG Berserker. Can I be your friend?
.Gary Sues are not magical boyfriends. That's just plain shoujo.
I'm talking about an alien/god/magician/fairie that gets involved with some boring normal girl for whatever reason. Hijinx ensue.

Counts, I guess.Arjuna.
Well, I guess it depends on whether you consider fantasy as "magical".Counts, I guess.
Chris is magical at the very least.
AND there are hijinx.
In DearS there are DearS that are male. That would also count if the manga focused on a male DearS and his female master or whatever.
Well, I guess it depends on whether you consider fantasy as "magical".
Brave 10 had this rather useless protagonist who basically collects sexy and powerful men that protect her.
Yeah cg berserker isnt as good as berserker from FSN.
Anyone who does not like CG Berserker is not my friend. If you're not my friend, there are consequences.
Not all CG is badFriends don't let friends put unnecessary CGI in anime.
Well, something like UtaPri doesn't have the "magical" part I suppose. They're just bishounen who happen to be able to save the girl.Isn't that every reverse harem ever?
Not all CG is bad
B-but, CG is the future of anime, see?No one said all of it is. However, it's a problem when you have a fight scene and one of the characters doesn't look like he's in the same reality.

it's beautiful. easily up there with mirai nikki.
Berserker's otherworldly appearance reflects his unique and unknown nature, as well as his master's isolation from the rest of the challengers and progressing dehumanization. No one said all of it is. Me neither I'm just saying your post is flawedAnd maybe the point of the Angel Beats scene is that it's a surreal afterlife where nothing is as it seems, but I'm not going to justify poor composition with convenient theories.
I regret to inform you that CG Berserker in F/Z was totally fucking awesome. My love for him was like a truck. The swirly dust effects, the way the lighting seemed to fall into him, the choreography of his movements and the overall scenes he was in were all amazing.
And then again, we have...
Fate/Stay Night 1:
LOL DEEN
The animation quality, while it was probably pretty decent for the budget and considering it's DEEN, it's such a far cry from what I saw ufotable doing just now that it's amazing that these two shows are from the same franchise, much less in the same category we call 'animation'. It's not quite Shaft levels of not-animated but compared to what ufotable was able to accomplish it's pretty saddening to witness.
The character design for Shirou is, to put it as flatteringly as possible, a bit homely. Sakura and Rin look pretty much as I expected they would 10 years later, if their budget was also 1/10th of what it was previously. Which it probably was. The appearance of Kiritsugu seems to be faithfully preserved at least, and we can hope the various other people who appear again from F/Z will also look decent. It's too bad Shirou is so ugly.
I would kill for them to remake F/SN with ufotable as the animating studio. They would sell at least 42k units of the box of such a remake, I can almost certainly guarantee that. Visually, this show is a disaster compared to it's subsequent prequel.
As for the content, well I guess we'll see. People blasted this show for the way it covered the content of the original VN as well.
Me neither I'm just saying your post is flawed

They could totally make perfect, seamless CG that would make Cameron weep, but they chose not to. You just don't get it, man.
I was actually kidding. It looked dumb as hell.Their idea is perfectly clear. It's just poor execution because when a character looks like he belongs to another show, it breaks immersion rather than causing you to ponder his character's meaning. Plus it looks bad.
CG Berserker is awesome, and he looks awesome. Nothing any of you attempt to say will persuade me otherwise, because I love the way he looks and animates. The amazing sales of Fate/Zero will continue to justify that my opinion has the advantage here, because the studio will remain confident of their artistic integrity being supported by commercial success. It means I will continue to get what I find appealing from them, and I win.

But it was the best show of the season. It literally ticked all the boxes:
Best OP ☑
Best ED ☑
Best characters ☑
Best voices ☑
Best jokes ☑
Best story ☑
Best show called Kill Me Baby ☑
If I were to actually kickstart an anime it would be to finish series 2 of Mitsudomoe.
Another 5
Just a bit hard to buy the plausibility of that. Why would anyone go to this school? People dying left and right is not something you can really keep a secret. The school would have been closed years ago.
The strongest part of the show continues to be the atmospheric direction. It's enjoyable to watch even though the story doesn't really make a lot of sense.
Indeed.Doesn't matter ifpeople are literally dying. I mean, usually in these kinds of stories it just starts off as some kind of urban legend, and that's fine. But in this case PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY DYING, REPEATEDLY. This would be all over the news and no one would go to the school.
Highschool DxD 1
Who doesn't!?
Fake boobs deserve some love, too.
Teeth-face is scary.
I like how the characters in this show have their priorities straight.
This seems like a show that is better to watch after the physical release, to remove what little censoring there is, though for this kind of show, they could have used a better eyecatch, one where her body had a posture that didn't make me wonder how a person could manage to stay like that, and her feet looked like feet, not like two pieces of ham.
Final boss?
Eiken is a disc one fake final boss at worst.

Take a good look, you guys. This is textbook Stockholm Syndrome.
Fate/Stay Night 2:
I love how Saber's character design always features a moe antenna.
I like CG Berserker. Can I be your friend?
CG Beserker is a pretty good looking fellow.
UFOtable's CG and animation are amazing, they should remake F/SN to eradicate Deen's abomination from the face of earth.
I hate you and this postFate/Stay Night 2:
I hate it when characters' faces and bodies change shape as they animate. It's a classic sign of low budget but you would think characters are the most important thing to get right when in motion.
If that were the case, I would be talking about how Mari Okada is in fact a great writer instead, and people simply don't understand her art.
Shit, maybe that's next...
I hate you and this post
Not that I'm interested in defending a DEEN animu and it probably looks like shit -- but my issue is with what you're saying in general. What you're [possibly incorrectly] describing is not a sign of low budget.

I know, I'm not defending Studio DEEN, but he specifically said:I'm going to defend him here, and say that what he is describing is not what you are thinking. Studio DEEN in particular is known for poor art consistently between scenes, such that even in a single episode, the way a character looks, and the proportions of a character's full body design can change from scene to scene, or even between cuts in the same scene, because of a crappy job on the part of the animation director.
That is different from creative morphing of a character's form in fast moving action sequences to create a dynamic flow which does not look realistic. Such a debate would never come up in a Studio DEEN discussion, because to begin with the studio would be incapable of animating (or even storyboarding) a creative fast moving action sequence.

See above!!!!!To elaborate, stretching and deformation in motion are basically the starting point for all animation. They exaggerate the animated motion, making it obvious to the viewer what is going on. When used intentionally and intelligently, it's great.
That's not the same as DEEN being awful at art and being unable to maintain consistency in a static scene.

Well, the backgrounds in this show aren't anything to speak of either, so it's not as if they sacrificed one thing for another here or anything like that.
I just realized that the narrating voice for the PV who says "Fate...Stay Night." in that dramatic way has to be the guy who voices Kirei. I'm okay with this.
I love how Saber's character design always features a moe antenna. The origin of Saber's gender is pretty interesting too. Like many things in the Nasuverse which seem deep and philosophical but really aren't, Saber's gender was the result of a rather trivial decision on Nasu's part when he was first conceptualizing F/SN.
Fucking right it does!Ahoge makes the world go 'round.
