Spring Anime 2013 l OT One l All roads lead to this

I hope that David Production takes on Stardust Crusaders soon. Even if they can't possibly manage to match the spectacle of the OVAs, I'd love to see them bring the full story to life. A more fully managed series might better build the sort of camaraderie that seems to be central to this arc.

A full adaptation of Stardust Crusaders would be the best thing ever. Seeing all the excellent fights that got cut out would be great, even if it can't touch the animation of the OVAs.

I think I'm just going to drop everything that isn't a currently airing show. I don't even know why I pick things up anymore. I always have trouble motivating myself to watch anything. I've stopped watching Kamen Rider Agito, Akibaranger S2, and Yoshihiko S2, and I really like all of those. I can't motivate myself to watch more Koi Kaze, Oreimo, or DD Hokuto no Ken. And hell, for the past couple months I'm always days late on watching my currently airing shows too.

I dunno...shit sucks right now. =/

When you feel like this, it's best to just take a break for a while until motivation returns. This isn't a job.

Seriously. No sense burning one's self out on stuff that isn't going anywhere. Been taking it easy myself in preparation for summer backlog season as nothing makes a show unenjoyable to watch than some misguided self-inflicted sense of obligation.

I can go several weeks without watchin much.
Usually a small handful of episodes of random stuff a week and on my off time I might marathon a short series or work through a few eps of something longer.

I guess in this regard, something like this also hit me, as I haven't really finished anything I added into the backlog last month. It was something like this for months, but that was due to that massive Precure marathon taking the lead. Now it's like.... all over the place right now.

That's what I've basically been doing all season!

Usually when I get that feeling I drop all the currently airing shows instead. Generally, the backlog is a better source of quality for my anime tastes.

Got 99 problems and only one of them is a waifu
I usually just stop for a few weeks and marathon what I didn't watch whenever I have a day where I don't feel like playing games or anything else.

I usually end up watching handfuls of episodes of stuff I just picked up on disc, like Dusk Maiden, Lagrange, and KMB that I just got.

Another good thing to do when you're feeling drained is to walk away from discussion boards like this one, as at least in my experience it usually just enhances the drain.

Dunno, I just watch what I want and if I don't feel like it, I just do something else. It's a big world out there. I need to go and play 999 before Zero Escape comes out next week on ps+. Etc.

I need to do this too

Yep.

Good man. I've already played Virtue's Last Reward (Zero Escape is now the series branding, by the way, so 999 has also been reissued with the Zero Escape branding on it) on 3DS, but I'll probably play it again when the Vita version gets issued on PS+ since it's the version with the superior performance.

Sword Art Online 2

Cool OP. Not sure if I'll add it to my music library yet.

I like Asuna already, and that battle was intense, especially for a first boss fight. Although... why didn't Kirito just admit the boss was upgraded from the beta test period? There was absolutely no reason not to. Oh well. Also: "Beater". Pfffft.

Dammit, I was just typing a post nitpicking that! XD

It's partially Aksys' fault for confusing everyone by giving the series a name retroactively, but since I doubt they could have predicted that 999 would get a sequel when they originally released it, I'm not sure what else they could have done. Calling VLR "999 2" would have sounded awkward to say the least =p

Welcome, Junior.

I really wish SAO didn't turn into a
love story
near the end, I really want to see it because the action scenes look epic as heck but I can't stand action shows that turn into
love stories
. I've only seen 4 episodes but I might get back into it... or just look up battle scenes on YT and skip the show. My friend told me he also dropped the show because of my reason and he was on the second season so he was further. So I guess it wasn't just me that thought this.

This is mostly the same reason I drop a lot of action shows. Even the Beelzebub anime was scaring me with this
romance stuff
before it was closed off. I don't mind
romance stuff
in action shows if its either promised in the beginning to be a
romance show
, or its on the side of the show kinda like DBZ and One Piece does.

Just one of my personal pet peeves in anime. Sorry for all the spoiler tags, but I didn't want to spoil anyone currently watching it even though I bring up other anime.

And let one's forums reputation rot??? Some of us have families & cannot tolerate that kind of shame spreading to them. What if someone says they liked a bad anime and noones there to call them out????

Sword Art Online 3

(Keep in mind, I wrote this while watching the episode, so it's more reactions than anything else).

So, after all that time it took with Floor One, now there's a group all the way to Floor 28. I have a feeling I should get used to time skips.

Also: Um... you can see the name and HP of your party member, but not the level? What's the point of hiding a basic thing like that?

Wait, you can track party members? That's CREEEEEPY.... if misused. And it totally would be, if this were a real game.

Sachi does raise an interesting point: Why the hell IS the developer doing this? That's what I'd like to know too.

“I'm not going to die?” Sachi dear, you just jinxed it. I'm sure of it.

You know, as interesting as this is, I kind of want to learn how this is affecting the outside world too. 2,000 people have died in this game. I'd love to have a scene in reality somewhere.

NO. DON'T GO IN THERE. IT'S OBVIOUSLY A TRAP. DON'T.

OH GODDAMIT WHAT DID I JUST SAY?

Wow, that's a terrible trap. They can't teleport out and they're being surrounded by monsters. None of the dungeons in .hack were this unforgiving.

… Well, that's certainly mood-whiplash. Kirito's party is wiped out and we cut away to Floor 49, at Christmas apparently.

Um... Kirito dear? Hiding your level wasn't that horrendous. If you remember, they were doing fine in that dungeon until they hit that OBVIOUS TRAP. You aren't to blame for that one.

Klein, you're steadily becoming my favorite character and the sole voice of reason. Keep it up.

OH MY GOD, HE'S FIGHTING A DERANGED SANTA CLAUS. THIS IS THE BEST THING.

…. Aw. I wanted to see more of that fight. Oh well. At least Klein held up his promise. I wonder what his level is.

Ow. It can only be used on a player that's died within ten seconds. I don't know why I'm surprised by this.

Also: I'm shipping Klein and Kirito, canon be damned.

I like Sachi. A shame she died. At least she cleared Kirito's conscience.

Wait what? You can see a player's level by looking at their menu? What kind of stupidity is that? How can party members not see your level, but people looking over your shoulder can? That seems needlessly convoluted.
