Oreimo has never been defensible. The best thing anyone could say about it is "its not really about incest!" If you have to argue that you've already lost.
Have watched lots of anime in the past month so I have lots to report. First I wanna say that, the first season of Gintama wasn't really funny and Gundam 0079 is fucking awesome.

I believed during S1 that it wasn't....but I was mistaken, severely mistaken. I wanted to pretend it wasn't but fuck the second season and light novels.
Everything here is so flat. Even the "relationship" above that they seem to pushing hard this episode.
The thing with syfy shows is that, since it's so hard to basically do anything new nowadays, especially if you are relying on tropes to evoke sympathy through familiarity, is that you better do it really well or you might as well not even try.
So
the fleet gets wiped out, there's a secret government conspiracy, and the MJPs are being used as propaganda tools
. All of which are supposed to be big plot points that the characters are meant to react to, but the characters are so dull that none of it matters.
It's like that crappy K-ON-esque episode that they tried to do a few weeks ago and everyone already forgot.
It doesn't help that Yamato 2199 is relevant again, at least for the moment, and just serves as a reminder of how you can do this stuff well.
I think BluWacky is pointing out our role in making those threads worse than they need to be, not saying that it doesn't matter whether we get involved or not.

Unfortunately, even if we go in there without doing exactly what we're doing, what exactly can be done against people who judge things without actually looking at it?
The only fond memories I have of the show right now is the god tier amazing ending to episode 12. The only other stuff I remember from it is me sitting through tons of dialogue that ranged from boring to very interesting. Or maybe this is just my recency bias talking since I did rewatch both Madoka and Soredemo very recently with a friend.

Season 1 is just #5 since I only ever completed 5 Shaft anime and so I had to put it somewhere.
From the episodes I watched, the second season felt more or less the same thing and had the same problems. Just cute girls talking about mostly uninteresting stuff with very slowing pacing and visuals not very engaging most of the time. I mean I love Hidamari gifs, but I can't go through another 13 episodes just for some few good scenes.
icecream threads were perversely (pun intended) more interesting because they tended to deal with games that weren't anime adaptations. With an OreImo game you know pretty much exactly what you'll get, but some of the weird porny strategy games that icecream used to post about had a mild curiosity value to them.
They all served the same purpose and ended in the same way, but at least they introduced the existence of games I'd otherwise be
I liked the how she went to go for her dream, but I didn't like how they just brought back that part of her personality considering they threw it under the bus around the mid-season climax.
Thinking back to the ghost episode, I'm surprised Yayoi wasn't exactly crying her eyes out.
Since animegaf is here, anything you'd recommend featuring school life (or maybe just slice of life in general) and involving urban legends? Something you'd recommend for someone who liked Drrr (is that the right way to write it?) and Persona 4?
