I liked the how she went to go for her dream, but I didn't like how they just brought back that part of her personality considering they threw it under the bus around the mid-season climax.

Thinking back to the ghost episode, I'm surprised Yayoi wasn't exactly crying her eyes out.
This is the series that
made an entire episode about Reika suffering because she wanted to leave for London or whatever while forgetting they had a magical bookshelf that took them places
. Continuity was never Smile's forte.

I wonder how many people would immediately disavow any knowledge of ever having seen the series if they knew that she was supposed to be 14.
Quotes like the one below is why we need more people to be interested and expectant of Mr. Yamaga visits to FanimeCon:

NAveryW - View topic - Gurren Lagann Countdown! :: EvaGeeks.org Forum - an Evangelion Fan Community said:
And, finally, someone asked, "Is Yoko really 14?" to much laughter and applause. Yamaga responded that "As the series takes place underground, time may be measured differently. So a year underground may be different from what we consider to be a year." That was met with the most cheering I had heard at the panel yet. Personally, I think it's the best non-committal answer I've ever heard.

Quoting my request from the HappyenD thread.

Mushishi is a pretty good slice of life involving urban legends.

Edit: By "pretty good", I mean AMAZING.

I just write it as whatever planet they live on having a longer orbit than our Earth.

Underground years are now 1.5 years, thus she's like, 21.

TA DA NO MORE GUILT.

Denial. Embrace your pedophillic desires.

Most people I've told just deny it out right or just completely go, "...wat?"
All I know about that Oreimo thread is that Chet Rippo gets all the best lines:

All I know is that I'm wasting far to much time in there. I should be drawing instead!

I know that, and I stopped caring considering the fact that it meant that Brian Taylor won't get a shot again, but personality traits are a big deal, considering everyone else's final spotlight episode was far more consistent, even though Reika is my least favorite.

Her voice is perfect :

I will get one too :)

This is what happens when your boobs are the most important magical power source of your own universe.

Fifth stage is great. If you liked the first series , you can't complain as it's at the top of his game. Watch it ASAP.

yes, it is. Everything about Kurumi is perfect. I only watched one episode of her in the middle of the show so I will have to go back and see what lead up to it. But now I know it will be worth it!

[Futari wa Precure] 18

fucking background characters getting in the way of my Honoka X Kiriya OTP

dat Poisonny fight was zomg. Like, Toei actually had a budget there.

SAO is more like x_x

Honoka is the best reason to watch the original. Kiriya was actually not a bad character, just cliched. It made everything pretty predictable but still kind of heartwarming and cute.

To anyone who cares about the lack of US Blu-rays from Kadokawa, the Blu-ray of Heaven's Lost Property: Forte just arrived today and a whole month early! I have yet to open the actual case, in for whatever reason Kadokawa forced FUNi to reduce the Blu-ray quality and I need to return it, but here's what I can tell you.

The packaging is a standard Blu-ray case with a Blu-ray sided O-card. No artbox, no new cover art, and no new extras. I would not expect any new reversible art compared to the LE DVD release, but that may actually be the one new thing available other than the FUNi series trailers.

The release does state 1080p video with 5.1 English and 2.0 Japanese. You will have to ask someone else or look for another review to see if subtitles are locked as there is no indication on the package. Really hoping this Blu-ray was worth double-dipping for in the end.

Fuck this. I have the DVD set. I love Forte a lot but Im double dipping a lot with these "only on DVD oh wait here a bluray just kidding!" so fuck it.

When AnimeGAF interacts with the outside anime fandom.

someone was actually offended that Dresden complained about the shitty quote generator on Hummingbird :lol

Umm the whole reason for a Beta is to report issues...

This is the exact same justification that I made up when debating this with people years ago. "They're on a different planet, so it might have a longer orbit around its sun than the Earth!" I've never felt so proud/ashamed of my weaseling.

Quoting my request from the HappyenD thread.

This is tough because urban fantasy is a really scarce genre in anime, especially when coupled with school life/slice of life. I honestly don't have any good suggestions to match your criteria, but I would still highly recommend Baccano! if you liked Durarara!.

Have you seen Natsume's Book of Friends?

I don't know about this "urban legend" stuff but Hidamari Sketch is the best SOL out there.

Have you watched Hyouka? It's a mystery show involving high schoolers.

Have you checked out K

Mushishi is a pretty good slice of life involving urban legends.

Edit: By "pretty good", I mean AMAZING.

Thank you for the suggestions! All check them out.

By the way, I just realised that the Code Geass movie already came out, is it any good?

Great Teacher Onizuka

a bit lacking on the urban legend stuff but it's a great school theme comedy/slice of life anime
This one I know and love, great manga!

I'll check it out! Thanks.

Slice of life is not necessary though, it can be just about urban legends, I love that kind of stuff, it's just that I think having normal people involved in it is a lot more interesting than people with powers fighting urban legends.

Not according to the Oreimo thread!

Also, isn't Simon the same age as Yoko in the anime?

I coulda sworn she at least treated him as if he was younger.

Quoting my request from the HappyenD thread.

Great Teacher Onizuka, Azumanga Daioh, and Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu are my recommendations. Azumanga doesn't have any urban legend ish stuff, but its still amazing. GTO is GTO.

Then why do her boobs double in size when the time skip happens?

They're clearly filling with Spiral Energy.

Well its still only at part 1 of 4, so it really just served as a decent introduction. Hopefully part 2 actually comes out this summer and delivers on the teased action front from that one pv.

And I (of course) endorse this message, because, if we don't support it when we can... who will?

I am not surprised in the slightest.

Why the hell hasn't NISA licensed this yet? This kind of obscure-but-still-otaku-friendly thing is basically their bag.

I think everyone else probably still hates on it, but I kind of liked Occult Academy from a few years back...

I actually thought of recommending this, but wasn't brave enough to. I also kind of liked it, honestly.

Whoever came up with yoko's design (don't post any pics please) is......how do I put this......needs to think harder next time. I do like how they took the mick out of her when she went to the beach and she was bearing less skin.

Threads like that Oreimo thread...I absolutely dont deny that there are gross exaggerations about the content of anime on this board. But at the same time, I really think this community isn't doing itself any favors by calling peoples disturbed by this kind of thing "righteous GAF", and posting pics like...that one just to get a reaction out of people.

I mean...is it so out of the realm of possibility that somebody can react to something like this that way? And when some are going to Wikipedia to read the description about Oreimo, or even watching the first two episodes in one instance, and they read about/see the sharing of porn games and such (at least that's what they were saying, including the people familiar with the show)...I'm sorry; being weirded out really isn't an unreasonable reaction. I could certainly do without the pedo accusations, but when there's that many people responding "DAT ass" and other such things, if only to bait people...

...Look, the hyperbole and generalizations are annoying and disheartening. But just think that there may be a point where people may be in too deep to see how this stuff can look to outsiders, and that there are times where these reactions aren't entirely unwarranted. And that many of the behaviors of the people in this community who post in threads like those are not making matters any better.

Maybe I'm just agitated today.

Nishigori am cry.

His art style is fricking amazing though its just some of his character designs especially female characters are bit crazy. I call it the Nomura syndrome.

I tired to warn them. They didn't listen. They posted the pic. I know it may of seemed from our perspective that some of them were jumping to conclusions but if you showed that to random people in the public I am sure they would jump to the same conclusion. Its hard not to. Its like the big elephant in the room.

None of animegaf is serious in that thread.

It's simple and easily recognizable. Her design is perfect.

People just need to accept the fact that the average person is going to find things like Oreimo creepy and judge people who enjoy them creepy.

Nice Popsicle there Momo

But nice.

See? she is the best girl.
Told you.

I always confuse this show with Hanasaku Iroha.

I should watch one of them, maybe that will make it stop.

Hanasaku Iroha is pretty good. Minko is the best!

All that track running... leads to buns of steel.

It's not rape simulator... but its not something one would typically use in their college dissertation.

I do not find Oreimo to be weird at all. The show is quite restrained and the content is astoundingly tame.

If we wanted to fish for reactions someone should make an official thread for the GotY coming out on June 1st.
