I don't completely disagree (yandere types in general are a no-no),
but this was definitely the best episode where she has taken any considerable amount of spotlight.

I'd say this episode played on the better parts of each character's personality in a funny way. I enjoyed it a lot.

Attack on Titan 2
The production value continues to impress; I feel like even the still shots look good because of the art direction and the high-budget background art. And it's not like they're being overly abused, I think; all of the most important scenes are given the animation they deserve.

And has been mentioned, the ED is absolutely excellent. One of the rare shows to have a great opening AND ending.

Exactly! The art direction and background art are strong enough that even the still reaction shots look great. They can get by on those sort of shortcuts as long as the art quality remains consistent.

I liked the episode. To clarify, I meant I didn't completely disagree on disliking Ayase the character. The episode had, as was stated previously, a more aggressive and unabashedly creepy Kyousuke along with a Kirino that actually heard her brother out and Manami that (at least "fronted") bewilderment with Kyousuke's activity. Ayase in it was also much more entertaining than usual and added something desirable with her "crazy" behavior and clingy nature towards Kirino rather than simple annoyance. It most definitely didn't fail on the interactions (relatively speaking).

LovePlus Touch turns people "a little creepy" confirmed by several characters in-show.

I said this last week, but if animation shortcuts are necessary in a TV show(and they pretty much always are in any non-KyoAni show), I'd much rather see still shots with good art than cheap off-model animation or poorly-integrated CGI. I feel like the show has something of an old-school sensibility in some ways, despite the CGI and modern digital photography techniques. It's mainly things like the aforementioned still shots and the line-and-shading-heavy character art that remind me of '90s anime, mostly in a good way.

Man, for a girl with her looks, skills, and gentility, Sakaki has an incredibly low amount of self-esteem. I'd ask why that is, but then, seeing the poor girl reach out to pet the electronic cat and having it burst into flames when she tried, it's not hard to figure out why. Poor thing.

Best part of the episode was Osaka giving Chiyo a Chiyo's Dad doll for her birthday, which prompted Sakaki to have another wacky day dream about it and talk about it with the other girls.

At this point Sakaki x Chiyo's Dad is pretty much canon.

Lol sorry, I wasn't trying to be contrary. I was agreeing about it being a good episode.

Henneko was okay. I was never really a huge fan of the premise and the characters aside from Tsukiko, to be honest.

Thank god Misaka is here to punch Eren in the face when he becomes too much of a whiny shounen-hearto hero.

Sakaki is really quite perfect. Except the one thing that makes her happy always seems to end in failure. Kaorin is more than happy to make her feel better!

Oh yeah, I guess the whole
key teleporting from Eren's father to Eren via the a dream thing will be explained. Right? Because right now it doesn't make a lick of sense.

I don't know what was going on with that in the anime, but it's definitely not just a "dream" in the manga.

Well, we have two options:

One is that
the 'dream' is actually a flashback of an event that took place in the extremely brief period of time in between the boat and the supply depot.

Two is that
the anime is an endless recursion of time and Eren is relieving memories of previous lives as he struggles to solve the puzzle and save mankind.

This is basically what I assumed, but the editing in the anime is literally the way you edit a dream sequence into a normal sequence. We would be lead to assume it was a dream because the jump-cut editing was pretty similar to the editing of Eren's dream at the start of the first episode. So basically they fucked up.

Also, why did his father store something important underneath a house in the outskirts, which is the first place that would get taken over in an attack.

And what's taking the Titan's so many years to devour the rest of humanity?

Betterman 1

Most definitely does take place in the same continuity as GaoGaiGar, but apparently a decade later, as Uushi, one of Mamoru's friends (the fat one with the brother who was a member of GGG) is in the same class as the hero. I know I cannot expect at any time that Guy and GGG will be back, since they're out saving the universe, but at least we have a familiar face to start us off.

Keita, the protagonist, is a total loser compared to CYBORG GUY SHISHIO, but that's asking too much. He's certainly not as all-around nice-guy as Mamoru, though. Which isn't to say he's bad. He just seems like a loser.

Hinoki, the heroine, has funny hair, which isn't unusual in this continuity, but stands out for her odd Christmas colors.

This show has a really odd, somewhat jarring atmosphere of horror cartoon with slapstick humor. Case in point: hero sees freaky corpse jiggling like a fish faster and faster toward him, and he basically runs into more and more monsters as he flees, but his flight is animated like, in the cartooniest way, and in the end he crashes his balls into something for comedic effect. Iunno.

The Titular Betterman shows up in the last few seconds of the episode, so no idea what he is, yet, other than a giant thing made when a guy eats a seed.

Wish fulfillment fantasy tells me that Sakaki isn't into Kaorin. She's into Chiyo's dad.

I thought I missed something. Good to know they probably fucked up.

Watched the first 4 episodes of Gintama

I'm really liking the setup here. The characters being someone you can hire for anything means that the stories can also be about anything, and the incredibly goofy tone means that when shit gets real, it's going to be really effective.

Will definitely keep going.

Loved Gargantia episode 2. Showing us how each character in the fleet reacted to something unknown and showing us how Ledo unflinchingly dealt with conflict was really nice. The shot on Ledo's eyes as
he orders the pirates' execution made me smile. It really reminded me that Ledo isn't sparing the Gargantia fleet for their sakes.
There was a lot of worldbuilding as well. The difference in music between Ledo's scenes and Amy's and the colors in each scene are great too. I really like how lively everything seems.

I'll give this episode it's due. It SOLD the fact that for the Sailors (or Usagi at least) that there was truely no going back and she was NOT thrilled at the prospect. Like it or not, they're Earth (or Tokyo, at least)'s mightiest heroes and they have to act as such.

It's kinda funny how Kae Araki sold this, I mean Kotono Mitsuishi does her job well but wow.

Also funny, the Monster of the Week is voiced by Megumi Otuga aka Shinji Ikari (and Uranus and Season 0!Yugi).

I hope that means something less insipid as say; Media Blasters (who really should be dead by this point) getting their ill deserved hands on it and, say, Saban just getting the TV rights to show it on Vortexx with Funi handleing the uncut and legacy versions (because we're not starting that dance again).
Because, damnit to the protectorate, if MB or such gets the rights, I'm going to have to start busting some ass and I'm not sure if I'll start with the US or Japan.

Gargantia ep 2

Sorry guys but I'm not really feeling this episode at the moment, I'm not sure where all the love for this episode came from... I mean I want to be a mecha voiced by AI Sugita when I grow up just like everyone else, but the first 15-odd minutes of this was rather underwhelming, especially anything to do with Amy. Sometimes I just want to see those spunky genki characters get a slap to the face, you know? Instead of just doing whatever they want with the power of genkiness and always being right because character tropes.
Hopefully Ledo's little stunt at the end will have just that effect.
And for all Jex's talk about the characterization, I really can't agree with him so long as all the cast except Ledo and the purple-haired commander exist. I mean, just look at the blonde mechanic, that is pretty much yelling to the world "look at how generic we can make our characters!"

Oh yeah and the CG sucks

Hentai Ouji ep 1

I've been waiting for this since it got announced and it didn't disappoint me. I guess Yuki Kaji is suited to be in kind of roles instead of shounen, although I'm slighty disappointed hnnnghzawa isn't voicing Tsukiko but Yui Ogura is good. The show is very good in executing comedy. Will continue watching, this show will lead cajun into a coma.
