I just see a beautiful landscape, no fan service here.

Tragic victim of fan death
Delicious tears are also fanservice!

I truly regret not being part of an online community when that first aired.

I was part of an offline community. All my friends were watching and it'd be hilarious to hear the impressions for it after the weekend. hahaha.

OT4 dead confirmed.

What can i say about this show...It's pretty good. In it's essence, it's nothing more than a disney-style fairy tale and "boy meets girl" love story. It's really sweet to boot.
Animation is gorgeous, stills look great too. Story is simple and enjoyable, adventures aplenty and the character interaction is handled nicely.
It's not in any way a masterpiece, but just a nice "feel good" romantic tale. Show doesn't take itself too seriously, which is nice too. It's not dark, depressing, or anything.

In other words, i can recommend it to anybody who likes such stuff. It's sweet and charming, definitely worth checking out. It also featured refreshing amount of almost zero fanservice.

I wouldn't say almost Zero >.>

Still, it's a very enjoyable show and I look forward to a Season 2, which will hopefully have a better arc than the flying fairy arc (which wasn't bad but wasn't great after the SAO arc)

I think duckroll is going to add those links to the OP for this thread. Ideally all those threads should link back to this one as well for easy navigation of all the current anime threads.

Okay I added it to the OP, thanks. Any feedback for how it looks?

Looks fine to me. Maybe you could stick it in a little quote box so that it stands out better.

Either way, people are going to skip past it but it's their own fault.

I have to wonder if, in the case of Tsuritama, that was more to do with show itself. People outside of this thread seem to be interested in checking a show out if it has a dark tone, focuses on action or macho stuff. Essentially, if it resembles a type of show that they are already familiar with because they've seen anime similar to it in the past. Tsuritama is not that - it's a really colour, slightly eccentric show about guys who learn to fish. I'm not surprised it didn't catch on.
That could be a reason, certainly. All in all I think we, as in habitual people here, didn't push for the thread to have some momentum and nearly abandoned it... that was sad but, well, things happen!

  1. Chihaya x Haruka (The OTP of the show. Their love for each other is unstoppable.)
  2. Makoto x Yukiho (The dashing prince and the wallflower. Yukiho gets the best of both worlds as she can date someone who looks like a boy but is in truth a girl.)
  3. Makoto x Miki (Team Cucumber. Nuff said.)
  4. Azusa x Iori (Recent doujin came out that made quite the compelling case.)
  5. Takane x Yukiho (Takane is Yukiho's structural support, the motivator she needed as they made their way to the top.)
  6. Ritsuko x Kotori (You can't tell me that nothing's going on in the office when all the girls are out doing photo shoots with Producer-bro, leaving the two of them by themselves.)
  7. Iori x Yayoi (The Princess and The Pauper. A safe yet sweet pairing.)
And talking of 'dōjin'; if Ōmori Harusame says so, Yukiho × Dog should also be a fan favorite:

Be advised; perusing through this link could lead to even more explicit content... careful!

For the case of the Chihaya × Yayoi pairing I proclaimed earlier, Isao Hayashi made a nice illustration of the two featured on the BACKSTAGE M@STER book, so at least I know that one person from the series staff works also towards that same cause!

Kirito fanservice would have been pleasing. Yeah SAO was a fun show at the end of the day and had memorable moments, do want a season 2 or so at least for the new character that I occasionally seen in arts and in the tumblr tag, always wondered who he is. And I want to see what other game premises and worlds the creator has come up with (though nothing can top the Accel World).

Had recommended SAO to a friend, somehow they made it through it all in one day, Sachi fan...

Sometime I really hate anime that's a manga adaption, I always spoil myself on every show that I enjoy by jumping to the manga.

------------
On a completely different topic, I just discover Hikaru no Go had the most amazing OP and ED songs. I never notice it since I always skip the OP and ED.

I will never understand how this show brainwash me into watching people playing tic tac toe board games for 50+ episodes without any fanservices...

Don't get me wrong i'm one of the few in there that enjoyed SAO anime even if i think it's a poor work. But there was fanservice.
A fair amout of it. Now if you're talking about the lack of pantyshots, sure the camera work was "legit". ( but there was way worse )

Due to Last Story's impecable British dub I do find myself adding more lines to the dialogue. Is that considered creepy?

"Oh Master Zael."

I talk to my devices all the time. Voice recognition is already in our phones, it's only a matter of time before we get something worthwhile in the leading innovation scene that are dating sims.

sure, i'm talking about pantyshots and whatnot. Compared to most anime, it's practically nonexistent

Pardon me interrupting your discussion here, but I don't quite get what you mean by 'most anime'. Fanservice may crop up here and there in late night anime, and there a few shows which are entirely fanservice driven, but I don't feel like they represent the majority of the medium.

Amnesia Episode 2

Pretty boring episode overall.

The trip itself was a waste of time, basically only used for her falling off some cliff and having black haired kiss her on the bed. Those memory lapses of hers seem to be hinting they're future events to come rather than her previous memories.

Also, I do honestly think this show would be alot better off if they just focused on the guys instead of the girl, her spirit elf, and her memory loss.

i base it on shows i know about Obviously, i haven't seen all anime, that's a given. But 6 out of 10 is "most" in my book.

Okay, I guess that's fair enough, but as it's such an admittedly subjective measurement I'd probably seek to rephrase that position to something like "SAO has far less fanservice than most of the anime that I have watched" because that's what you're actually saying.

That may sound a bit nitpicky but they're actually two very different statements. The former claim would make me scratch my head as to how you could possibly have seen enough shows to judge wheree as the latter lets us know that you've seen quite a shows that are heavy on fanserivce.

Are you a bad enough dude to watch this show?
This was pretty awful. That social stuff had me cringing hard
the death drama hahaha, the battle in the end was also so busy I had trouble understanding what was going on
Hopefully it will make a good hatewatch.
Edit: Ok I missed the post credit stuff. I changed my mind. This is going to be the VERY fun kind of terrible.

1) I considered it my moral duty to raise public awareness about such a fantastic franchise.
2)

One of the above may be a lie.

Nope. Not properly at least, although I have been stalking them for about 18 months now.

So you made an OT where you didn't watch the show, read the manga/LN, or have any intents of doing so until Kurumi shows up. Uh... no offense but that's pretty fucking stupid.

[Attack on Titan] - 2

My original impressions of this episode were fairly positive. Or where they? I can't even remember. Either way, upon closer inspection this episode has quite a serious problem with conveying both geography and the passage of time.

Specifically, towards the later half of the episode, scenes which supposedly take place years months or even years after each other all look like they happened in the span of the same day. There's no sense that anything has happened in between the various cuts and the characters all look the same between the different timeskips (for the most part). I know that the manga didn't do this very well either but that's no excuse! Having the narration tell the audience that time has passed doesn't magically make me feel like time has passed if the visuals aren't doing a convincing job of demonstrating that.

In terms of geography, I suppose this is linked to the passage of time. I have no idea
how far away these outskirts are from the next set of walls, or how long it takes to get between these locations, or how long our characters have been travelling. It really could have used a mini-travel montage with time passing because without it
the problem mentioned above is just further reinforced.

It may sound like a minor complaint, but because I don't know how long things have taken or even what's happened inbetween these scenes I can't tell what's going on with that weird sequence featuring Eren's dad, as I've mentioned before.

Apart from that I don't think the above issue is that major, but it just added to the confusion regarding the scene mentioned above.
