Great, now I have both songs in my head. At the same time.
I'm sorry

It's shorter than Kenshin. Plus the second movie is probably my favorite magical girl thing ever made.

Jun is a complete scene-stealer!

Also like how she acts as an audience-surrogate, of sorts. It's fun to watch her get jealous over all of the light-music clubs shenanigans!

OH.MY.GOD!

Words, something, I don't know what to say. Terrifyingly amazing.

Jun is pretty awesome with bedhair. Ui is better though.

If anime/hentai thought me anything, Most parents work overseas and leave their middle school child to fend for themselves.

Honoka deserved better. then her parents come around once a year bringing her presents like that makes it better :(

So if I don't give a damn about anime trying to maintain the illusion of normal family structure or responsibilities or whatever and am willing to accept whatever hand-wavy explanation it gives for parents or grandparents or whoever not being involved characters or even existing, does that make me a bad person or something?

As long as the plot doesn't use it as active elements of the ongoing story, and it remains part of the vague setup scenario, what do I care?

Of all the unrealistic cliches and tropes found in anime, the lack of parental figures is the least of its problems.

That sounds like a long anime though.

70 episodes. Pace thyself.

I'd say it's more a poster you can dress up.

I guess you could call that an inspiration.

But seriously, why do wall scrolls have to suck so much? I'd rather have them over posters but there are just no appealing designs. I'd do anything for some sweet Jojo wall scrolls, all colourful and vibrant, they'd look great.

Wallscrolls dont suck. Check out the Haibane Renmei ones. Those are gorgeous for example. ROD TV has some good ones too, and Fate Zero/FSN.

They're totally shoujo anime archetypes, too. The kid with the sword (Sugane) is old-fashioned and responsible and supposedly "distrusts women" at the start of the story but his heart is changed by Hajime and he begins to feel "love and longing" for her. Joe (small-head dude) is the angsty, dark bishounen with a DRAMATIC BACKSTORY that has been living very long with an EMPTY HEART but is eventually able to regain his "passion" thanks to Hajime.

TOTALLY NOT SHOUJO.

Ugh, god no.

Why couldn't it be an all female cast? Daaamn it.

In the PSY thread, I saw a chart of the top ten singles on iTunes Japan and noticed something neat:

Yep, that's the TV size version of the Attack on Titan OP, 90 seconds of music for 250 yen, released just over a week ago, sitting pretty at #8 in the singles charts.

90 sec song clip for 250 yen...man the show is getting more and more popular. I'll expect Mikasa to dominate newtype rankings for months. Eren can't beat Kirito.

Would you find those character types attractive if they were women instead of men?

If the premise was the same and they just gender flipped the two males? It would've greatly raised my interest. We get enough broody guys as it is when it comes to this genre. Mix it up, be bold!

A cold, standoffish woman falling for her fellow girl sounds a lot more appealing than shoujo flowchart #6.

I'm DTL's friend. You know, the character who is always hanging out with the main character, and gets shipped in all the yaoi doujins, but officially might or might not be interested in him in that way. *wink*

I prefer yuri to straightshit, but I'm a sucker for shoujo-ish action shows in which a girl leads a group of men. Pretty much the only reason I watched a few episodes of the original Driland. The concept is kinda refreshing.

It should chart even higher. It's one of the best OP songs in the past few seasons. Up there with Psycho-Pass OP 1 and Utakoi's OP
