Are there any other cases where footage from an anime PV won't end up in the final product?

Iron Man. :p

---

I actually (kinda, sorta, somewhat) enjoyed the new Devil Survivor episode, and it looks like shit's getting real (aka things blowing up), so I'm still on the wagon, I suppose. The new glasses chick is the worst so far.

This really isn't funny at all and the disclaimer at the end is way too patronising for me to look over so I'm pretty much done with this.

Wow, I checked out Hataraku Maou-Sama! PV when it was first announced and it's totally different from episode 1 in terms of animation, scenes, character designs, dialogue and art. In fact the PV look better, I wonder why they scrap it in favour of a crappier version.

It isn't exactly uncommon for a PV to use fottage not seen elsewhere. A good example of this would be the original Hellsing TV series and the recent Kyousogiga.

I dunno what that is.
You have much to learn from the mountain.

e: lmao

Lulz. I can't take the dorama in this anime seriously. Besides that it was alright. The action scenes are not fun to watch at all though. Meh. The ending song sucks.

If you can't take the drama seriously and the action isn't fun to watch, it doesn't sound like you're left with very much worth watching at all.

I am morbidly curious about just how dumb Episode 2 is, but since I found the first episode insultingly stupid, I get the feeling I won't enjoy it.

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!
Valvrave - Duh Liburaytuh - 02

The episode featured:
  1. Yelling
  2. Cell phone conversations while at war
  3. Yelling
  4. Shooting
  5. Yelling
  6. The Number 666
  7. Yelling
  8. Robot suicide
  9. Yelling

Haruto gets to see
Shoko again
and after Yellan N' Shootan N' 666an N' Stabbin still
cannot confess to her and makes a dick joke
.

Dumb show, very fun to watch, it gets a Yelling/10.

Regulus Tera

Romanes Eunt Domus
[Futari wa Precure] 12
Poisonny > Gekidrago > Pisard. Her plans actually seem thought out and she's not afraid of anything
except grandmothers who may or may not have been Precures before
.

The Zakenna/Gomenna are not Snacky material, but this series could use more lackeys.
edit: also, Sucy is official now. Or was it always official?

Okay, this A-drei guy is insanely awesome. I will now judge every episode by the amount of ridiculous "L-ELF!!!!!" screams he gets in. Seriously, it was just glorious.

You should watch Phi-Brain if you enjoy Jun Fukuyama yelling out people's names. KAAAAITOOOO!!

Slam Dunk movie 4

This movie is about Ichiruo Mizusawa, an old friend of Rukawa who went to the same junior high school. He gets an injury and is diagnosed with a cripling leg, he will not be able to play basketball ever again. Mizusawa really looks up to Rukawa and wanted to play in Shohuku with Rukawa when he got out of junior high school. His dream of playing basketball ends, but as a last farewell his sister arranges a game with Rukawa through Haruko. When Haruko tells Rukawa about his old friend, he doesn't wanna help. Sakuragi hears this and sets out to fullfil the boy's last wish. Rukawa continues to act cold blooded, asking what a junior is doing in a practice match, breaking Mizusawa's heart.

Nevertheless things are not how they appear, Mizusawa plays really well, getting coach Anza's attention. As the match goes on, Mizusawa feels the pain in his leg, Rukawa tells him to play until he has no regrets, after the match he also gives him is shirt. As his last move, he can get past Rukawa, the match ends in a tie. Mizusawa becomes the 2nd manager of Shohuku and his dream of conquering the nationals with Shohuku starts. I was not expecting much of this movie, the other 3 were just okay, this one was really emotional.

Score 7/10

Exactly. Plus, this is a Kyoto Animation announcement, so it's something they own.

I wonder why that site is all secretive with the silhouettes and stuff then, if it's referring to something we already know it's getting animated.

The silhouettes do look very similar, especially the black-haired guy.

It probably is, but what's the point of hyping up the reveal of their next show when we already know what it is?

Isn't that how all teaser campaigns work? I dunno why people have this idea that whatever is being teased is always something new and unexpected. It rarely is. Companies start web teaser campaigns because the cost is cheap and people who are "guessing" what it is will talk about it and spread the word. It's all about marketing.

I just saw Valvrave 2, and it was rather entertaining, but ultimately not the same "good" kind of stupid as Geass IMO.

The resolution of the girl "death" was ridiculously casual and made the whole thing irrelevant, including the MC rage and rampage. He went back to his idiotic self, with added emo.
Fuck that.

Mecha action wasn't too hot either, so I'm not sure what's left. We'll see next week.

But is it really generating any buzz when it can be guessed in like 5 minutes? I'm more questioning their secrecy when rather than them announcing that they will reveal something later.

Yes, because there are more people on the internet than just the small group of forum dwelling fans who are able to guess any teaser for a movie/game/anime/manga/etc the moment it's put up.

Casual fans or people who don't really pay attention to entertainment news on a daily basis probably have no idea what it could be other than a "new Kyoto Animation announcement". It's a one week countdown, and they just want as many people as possible to watch the Nico stream.

Well, as long as we get the staff for it or whatever it is, I'm good. Hopefully Ishidate gets to direct it.

Maybe, but if it's targeted at casual fans that don't keep up with news, how are they supposed to find out about the teaser page?

You need to stop thinking of it as "targeting". It's not. It's just a quick teaser thing which they put up on a site. It takes them almost no effort at all, and it's meant to target "whoever". It just generates discussion, retweets, and headlines on blogs or whatever. Not everyone will know immediately what it is. Some people will, some people won't. It's effective because in the end, people are talking about it and aware that something is happening next week.

If they just announced what it is now, then the discussion about what it actually is might be exhausted by the time they actually hold the event. This way, there's dialogue before the event, and dialogue after the event. It always works, even if people "know" what it is. Proof? Look at every single teaser. :p
