The group that sung it are "otaku-ish" group though, the kind that selling their single on event like comiket (CMIIW)
So perhaps the single not gonna get attention that much in Japan.

I doubt such incredible photoshop filtering techniques would've been available in the 70's:
I've pretty much concluded that almost all the background art consists of GIS results copy & pasted together. It's then run through several shitty filters with some minor drawn additions to them added on top and then filtered again just for safe measure.

biggest problem I have with the anime adaption is that they pretty much completely removed most of the chibi cartoony expressions which made elsie so adorable.
Heck, if she stood there for half the episode that would have been better, she spent most of her time on her knees

really just exchanged blows a bit until getting beat back and saved by Alsiel and then zapped Olba.
I don't really care that much that she's not the best fighter in the world, I just hate the way she's written. She's like a hero's parody and this isn't some role she settled in after things have calmed down and she became buddy buddy with people for comedic effect, she's been like this right after we saw her in the first episode after they arrived in Japan. Whenever anyone calls her "hero" to me it feels as if they're mocking her and whenever she calls herself a "hero" it feels as if she's trying to make herself one through positive reinforcement. The dude from Majestic Prince pulls of the "I'm a hero" schtick far better because he actually tries. He has some inkling of motivation or drive. Emi on the other hand doesn't even seem to have basic survival instincts of an insect let alone a human. I can see her maybe not
hating Satan so much since she kinda "knows him" but I can't imagine her rolling over for Lucifer like this. Lucifer whom she supposedly already killed once, Lucifer who invaded her continent and supposedly razed her village with her father. I can't believe that she'd not try and use what magic she had to fight back and instead would just accept death, not once, but seemingly twice in a single battle.
If Emi were a guy in a Shonen series everyone would be laughing at him, he'd be a laughingstock. The dead weight on the team. Since she's a girl she's "alright?" Is all that's expected of her is to stall so the guys can come in and save the day?

- Preserved Roses, the TMR x Nana Mizuki OP for Valvrave, sold 45k on the first day apparently.
- The first Gargantia blu-ray box due in July has been delayed a month because they're still working on the OVA episode included within. Those who want to see Amy and friends teach little kids about their messenger job will have a wait a bit longer!
- Gargantia will be getting a number of BD fixes for various scenes in every episode from episode 5 onwards, or so they claim.
- Card Hunter rocks and everyone should go sign up for the beta, so I have friends to play against in Multiplayer: http://www.cardhunter.com/

The deterioration of Naru's friendship in favour of the Sailor Freaks is the real tragedy of this show. Laughing skulls can kiss my butt.
Demando's death and change of heart doesn't work for me as well as those of previous bad guys. The most obvious comparison would be Nephrite, who was given the time and effort to make his budding relationship with Naru believable. I just don't buy him going all noble

Holy shit. I've never been more hyped for electronic warfare. Hollywood hacking at its finest.
Finally, a full-on space battle. I've been waiting for this for so long. Lol the battleship-class Grand Crosses just flipping out with their hyperdrives is so fucking cool. What crazy tech.
All in all, a really fun series. A light-hearted excuse for relatively serious space warfare and high school girls in space, with the promise of future things; no deaths, barely any melodrama, and some minor space lesbians.
I kinda want to see more, but it's not a priority series. But it is a hell of a good time.

Like I mentioned, I think
technology running amok on its own is a less interesting theme than one person being able to manipulate things on a large scale using technology. The operating system isn't really the villain; it's only doing what it was programmed to do. The programmer is the one at fault. I would have liked to see more exploration of this idea and the creation of a class of technological elites who are able to wield great power over the world through their knowledge.
I agree that the opening scene was striking, though of course
he didn't have to be actually dead. They never found his body after all. I was actually surprised that after the film went out of its way to mention that and had his ID appear in the auxiliary control room that it didn't have him being still alive. It thwarted my application of standard movie logic.

The best part of Eureka 7 AO is when the main character attempts an unauthorized sortie with his machine and is successfully prevented from doing so, I believe for the first time in the history of giant robot anime.

It wasn't their age that was issue, it was the impression that there wasn't a lot of yuri at all and the characters that were weren't really relevant.

to see Listy (love the new hairstyle) and Reina (who has definitely matured a bit and is no longer the baby faced naive warrior girl we came to love in the past seasons)
Reina's eyes, as they're now purple instead of original sky blue that she had before. I'm guessing she either received a power that changed her appearance somewhat or it came to be from some other magical/spiritual event of some kind.
I'll be praying that
Listy and Reina are reunited by the time I complete this. I wanna see some romance between the originial one true pair!

Finally watched the first episode of Attack on Titan. I'm conflicted. I remember liking the little bit of the manga that I read, but going back through the intro with the anime this time... something just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe I'm not in the mood for creepy ass violent stuff right now. The whole thing was just disgusting and I'm not really sure I feel like following up with the rest of the show. Plus Eren being an annoying little shithead did the show no favors. Also why didn't Hannes (is that his name? The blond drunk dude)

I will say that this series has the creepiest fucking monsters out of any video game or show I have ever seen, which is funny considering they're basically giant humans.
