Backstory of the Bad End guys
should be pretty obvious if you know what story they originate from

And they revealed that all this time, they weren't even in their final form. So it's time for the power of understanding. And hooray for Rapid Fire March Shoot returning!.

they were Marchenland fairies all this time!

Jewelpet Happiness 07:

So, uhh, anybody remember PacaPlus, that alpaca dating sim? well..........this is the plot of this episode. oh god

Say what? We're getting into Gintama territory here!

I'm sad that I'm still the only person watching this because it's just so wonderfully weird with lots of little things designed to go over the audience's head.

I will definitely watch Happiness as soon as I finish Kira Deco!

It's an action block. Tsuritama and Hyouka would not be on it. Even Kaiji is pushing it, but has a minor chance due to Death Note being on Adult Swim.

See, my dream Toonami would not just be an action block. I recognize that it is but a dream, of course.

A quick wikipedia searched popped up the term UHF anime. I'm unfamiliar with what properties would fall under this, but it might be a good trailhead for you.

Not the same thing at all. This is just anime that airs on UHF stations, aka small local TV stations as opposed to major networks such as TV Tokyo and Fuji TV. A lot of late-night anime airs on these stations.

My problems with the shows have little to do with the characters and more to do with the poor visual direction so I don't think it's really something that gets better from what I've seen.

If you don't like the visual style, it cant be helped. The show is quite excellent otherwise.
The look is definitely unusual.

Already better than Dokidoki.

What is this? Its adorable.

So IS reboot got confirmed for Fall. Fall is stacked

Wait, its a reboot? not a sequel? I'm confuzzled.

Good choices. Not that I'd ever watch anything on VHS ever again.

Ever.

Those covers are nice though.

VHS is sooo nostalgic. However the whole tendency to eat and ruin tapes in a VCR is what eventually turned me to DVD.
when I do watch a tape though, memories start flooding back with every warped sound and tracking error.

Oh, one more small thing from ANN's writeup of the Aniplex panel: during the Q&A, one answer was that AoA "could not say if Fate/Zero will get a home video release with an English dub". Not sure if it's one of those "no plans at the moment" sort of answers, or if they just haven't finalized the details yet.

It amazes me that Aniplex still sticks with the $700 option for this show release and is denying anyone who wont spend a ludicrous amount. granted Im part of the problem by buying said release. but at least I stood up to their tyranny with Gurren Lagann and Oreimo. Fuck you I wont do what you tell me!

I feel like I should be watching Fate/Zero, but I keep seeing people say to watch stay night first even though it's a prequel. Which one should I watch first?

as a fan of Fate Stay night , dont watch Fate Stay Night. Trust me. Trust everyone. It aint worth it. You don't need to know anything about the Fate universe to understand Fate Zero. It is multitudes better.

it's heavily implied that the vice principal is gay for one of his own students. That ain't the little girl making that noise to herself.
If you hate Dokidoki Precure, what are you waiting for?!?!?!!?!

Like half the shows in the world, I have the Jewelpet series in my backlog. So I'll watch it some year...

Ah, never mind then. The Wiki article made it sound like they were smaller, indie shows trying out on the small stations and hoping to get picked up on the big stations and production companies, ala a show starting Off-Broadway and trying to get it put on Broadway proper.

RahXephon 02

I don't know why corvo hate this, its compelled me fast.

Not everyone understands RahXephon's unique magic the first time they watch it. Some even feel compelled to watch without subtitles to further enhance their experience.

I don't remember much about Rahxephon, but it was hella boring. Not boring as watching the first episode of Hyouka in slow motion, but quite close. It was basically Eva with a more incompressible plot and boring characters.

Is that a subtle reminder that Branduil needs to finish his no-sub watch of Rahxephon?

About the only thing I liked about it was the music and episode 19.

That was weird. During the episode I couldn't help but feel that I skipped something. Like I accidentally missed the first episode. Was there a series that came before this one?

Oh shit that is great.

Motherfucking plot DUMPS

You know, it's kinda bothersome how it's like... major plot dumps at three specific points. Beginning, Middle, and End. Said Plot dumps basically tells us where we are in the story.

Candy is the Miracle Jewel. Miracle Jewel grants any wish. Joker's wish is nothing, he just wants to destroy it. Candy is the daugther of the Queen. The Queen is supposedly dead already, The second thing was a lie, it is actually an egg for the Next Queen of MarchenLand.

And the Final Decor is in.

The episode he was involved with in Panty & Stocking is the one produced by Purple Cow Studio. In fact, he's specifically credited on it for production desk under Purple Cow Studio.

This is now one of my favorite company names that I didn't even know existed until today.

Are you fucking kidding me.
I liked the glasses girl. Fuck you.

This is amazing. I don't think even art could have ascended this high.

Yeah, but it's incompetent teacher's butt. Who even likes the incompetent teacher?

So many characters in this show already.

The only thing that I know about Pretty Cure (That's the full version of it right?) was that it was some anime about two girls finding these "prism stones". I always dismissed it as some kind of weird cliché magical girl show. One quick wiki search later and HOLY SHI- I didn't think it would evolve into a franchise so massive!

After reading the posts of Kirbyguy, I'm getting more and more tempted to give it a shot. But what should I expect going in it? A deep, compelling narrative like Madoka? A complex good story like Nanoha? What?

It's a magical girl show for little girls. You are looking at the wrong franchise for that.

Start with Heartcatch, though.

bad gameplay lol

Animated Super Sentai aimed at girls. That's exactly what it is. And I say this as a fan of Super Sentai, so I'm not being negative or anything.

I'm not surprised. (I see that guy is at a panel with Nagahama right now. I'm jealous.)

Might as well go ahead and post the guy's summary of the Nagahama panel.

BLC2OVfCEAAWamC.jpg

Nagahama is showing production materials for Aku no Hana 7. This is great.

He's showing an unsubbed version of Aku no Hana 7 right now. Still intense in a crowded room.

I should point out Nagahama has a light up Iron Man shirt on. Cool dude.

The show was rotoscoped to make it feel more like real life, because that is how the manga felt to Nagahama.

Rotoscoping the show has almost doubled the production time. The live action scenes were filmed over 30 days.

Aku no Hana wasn't just a live action show because Nagahama wanted you to think about the characters, not the actors.

On backlash: he knew it was coming. And if its creepy, its better to feel something rather than nothing.

He's talked a lot about his love of American Comics and Sci Fi. He likes Venom, Magneto, and Iron Man. And the dark sides of these characters.

He hopes people will remember the show as "that creepy thing that used to be on tv."

He passed on DMC and Aku no Hana once before directing them.

Nagahama wants people to feel like "they just met" the show. Compared it to a Gundam cosplayer in a sea of Narutos. Not kidding.

Super Sentai with girls. Each season has its own pros and cons and whatnot. Closest thing to super duper interesting is Heartcatch, which I tend to avoid recommending because it's quality far outshines the rest by a mile. This isn't to say they're bad (except for certain ones).

In any case, I'm going to give my franchise overview soon to give you an idea basically since I am for the most part, almost done with this franchise.
