Not quite as entertaining as the last two episodes, but seeing straight-laced Yamamoto clash with laissez-faire Tylor was still fun. I don't know how this ship will avoid blowing itself up.

I haven't read/seen Lovely Complex but that sounds p. similar. I guess it's basically the shonen version of that.

Just saw the poster for Miyazaki's new movie. Oh dear lord, so pretty, I haven't been this excited for a film for quite some time. It has all the hallmarks of being an amazing passion project. I really hope it doesn't take a year+ after the Japanese release to get it in US theaters.

Just saw the poster for Miyazaki's new movie. Oh dear lord, so pretty, I haven't been this excited for a film for quite some time. It has all the hallmarks of being an amazing passion project. I really hope it doesn't take a year+ after the Japanese release to get it in US theaters.

It definitely will. I wonder if Disney has given up on distributing Ghibli films altogether, or whether they'll handle this one because it's the elder Miyazaki.

I made it clear in my initial post that this has a chance of not being correct. I'm not really sure what the problem is if I need to specify those are vomic roles or not. If it's incorrect they're incorrect. If it's correct they're correct. Whether they belong to vomic roles or not is irrelevant in the end.

Seeing that reminds me that Poppy Hill is showing in a theater not too far from me. I should probably get around to seeing it. Even if I don't love it, Ghibli films are worth checking out in theaters for the wow factor of the visuals alone.

I love Alciel in this show. He's so loyal to Maou. And yet his skills don't exactly translate to life on Earth. And yet he's the only one routinely behaving like he remembers the roles of everybody back in their old world. At least he's a decent waifu for Maou.

Disney has the rights to Naussica and Mononoke, I think, as well. At least the home video rights for them and those films are really not kids films at all either. My bet is Disney doesn't care about what the film is as long as it has Miyazaki's name on it.

That's the reason I bothered posting about it, since I know there are fans of his around here that would be curious to know what he's up to.

That sucks I would of like to have both Yatterman series on DVD.

The first series is at ~$1k/$16k and the second series is at ~$1k/19k with about a month left. Even then, I'm pretty sure that the DVD releases are only 13 episodes each, and it's likely that even if these volumes did squeak by that future releases wouldn't and you'd be stuck with an incomplete set. So yeah, it's looking grim.

I really hope that they try to fall back on paid subscriptions instead of shuttering the site when all of these crowfunding drives eventually fail because I'm pretty sure that a couple of the shows on the site have never been available in English before.
