So I'm finally caught up on Valvrave, Gargantia, Maou-Sama, MJP, and Titan I guess my early ranks for the 5 would be

1. Gargantia
2. Maou-Sama
3. Valvrave
4. Titan
5. MJP

Of them I say Gargantia and Maou-Sama could free fall if they stop being about fish out of water slice of life series and turn into full blown action series (an episode here or scene here or there is fine). Titan would have been way higher if I hadn't read the manga first... so far the anime has fixed some of my issues with the manga (chronological issues) but it's not changing where the story is eventually going to go so :/ . MJP is starting to get where it should have been episode 1, will stick with it that it'll continue to improve.

Any other suggestions for shows I should be watching? Not counting things like HxH which I'm slowly getting though (already read manga) or Aku no hana (rotoscope animation looks like shit I'll just read the manga).

I'd say Yuyushiki is enjoyable. Fun, dumb, nothing happens type of show, the kind of thing you can just switch off and watch.

That's about it though. I'd rank my top 5 of the season so far:

1. Hataraku Maou-sama!
2. Attack on Titan
3. Valvrave
4. Gargantia
5. Yuyushiki

Gargantia could go higher but it really depends on where they go with it. MJP and Devil Survivor 2 have both been pretty disappointing.

I dropped Aku no Hana because it offended my eyes but I'd like to give it another shot eventually.

That's Crime Edge right? It seems...weird.
Yeah, it's really fucking dumb but the lewdness and the surprisingly high at times production values make it worth checking out each week.

Top 5 of the season
1 Valvrave

5 Maou-sama

Regulus Tera

Romanes Eunt Domus
Baudelaire anime for non shit-eaters
Guile Theme: The Opening
Waterworld with waifus
Sakuga mermaids
Would be Brothers in Space were it not for the run of recap episodes

Karneval 4

The episode was so good for Gareki and Yogi. I didnt think Yogi would get all that emotionally into it but it was so well done. Two hug scenes was quite pleasing and memorable and then Nai there too. The bed scene also was excellent touch. So glad Gareki was in the middle and not on the ends. Still lean towards him and Yogi a bit more than Nai. Though I guess there was plot...
Didnt expect that the one doing the killing was the brother, pretty sad that they were used as experimental subjects previous and now will most likely die from it since theres no cure. Poor Gareki considering he grew up with them for a bit. For Karoku stuff, why the interest in Gareki, wished a bit more was spent on that though.

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting in one of these OT anime threads and I'm sorry if this isn't the right place for my question.

I want to order one of the upcoming Bandai Figurarts Sailor Moon figures - I think pre-orders start 8th May.

Where do you guys think is the best place to order it from online? (I'm in the UK if that makes any difference)

I'm no expert on figure buying, but Amiami has an English website that's easy to navigate and I'm sure they have it there. Someone else can tell you the procedures of ordering/payment since I haven't a clue.

Tale of a Street Corner (Aru Machi no Monogatari)
He, he, he... nice!

I will slit my wrists if Space Dandy uses CGI for the ship models and mechanical animation.
With SATELIGHT Inc., involved? You bet...

I was surprised at how laidback Inferno Cop was with the pirating of LWA. Not like that excuses anyone...
That's their pedigree:

First, they showed the episode one of Gurren-Lagann without subtitles, but I'm pretty sure almost everyone there had already seen it fansubbed. After the episode was over, Hiroyuki Yamaga said, "If you want to see what happens next... I don't care, watch a fansub or something."

About fansubs: Yamaga said he really can't blame fansubbing or the internet, because japanese animation wouldn't be as successfull as it is now without those. Additionally he compared fansubs to watching the stuff for free on TV. However he said that most people who like the series will buy the DVDs and it would be sad if they didn't.

This last part of the quotation above reminds me that we will probably have to wait for a regular and standalone digital disc release of Little Witch Academia... I hope Masahiko Ōtsuka can make it reality!

hinamatsuri > yotsuba
It's Yotsuba with a strange psychic girl instead of a strange green-haired girl. It's pretty good.
Ryushika, Ryushika must totally be the darker and psychotic version of Yotsuba&! then...

When it comes to slice of life comedies starring children, my vote goes to Shin Chan.
I was going to wholeheartedly agree with you until I saw this:

it looks like shit (manga and anime)
Then I wept...

No one dies in Monkey Island either.
You can die if you hold your breath for more than ten minutes in the first game when LeChuck throws you in the ocean, can't you?
You can even see your green-rotten body again at one of Blood Island beaches in The Curse of Monkey Island!

And on LeChuck's Revenge,
the best thing of Guybrush narrating to Elaine what happened to him until a certain point in the story is that even if you die in an acid pit during the game, you can say that really wasn't how it all happened and proceed to resume it in just a moment earlier!

Lovely games! :'-)

Maturity, bitches.
Well AmiAmi (http://www.amiami.com/) is usually the cheapest, but once you order they don't like you cancelling that order.

You also have Hobby Search (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/) and Hobby Link Japan (http://www.hlj.com/top/Fig). I've heard Big In Japan (http://biginjap.com/) can be a good alternative.

I've only had experience with AmiAmi and HBJ. There's also PlayAsia of course, but they tend to be more, but an alternative to consider if it is sold out elsewhere.

Thanks for the answers. I've bought from AmiAmi before too and they're pretty good. I just wanted to check there wasn't a better tip out there.

You're doing it wrong. The anime is so much better than the manga, like its just not comparable.

Anyway updated top 5

1. Gargantia
2. Aku no Hana
3. Maoudonalds
4. Titan
5. Hentai Ouji

Aww dammit, it's only 6:53. Premature wake up calls.

Now then. Nekomonotonegatari, I cant... wait :/
I woke up at quarter after 5 and quarter after 6 last night with a scratchy throat and having to piss like crazy. I believe I have a cold.

For what it's worth I thought Nekomonogatari was a lot better than Nisemono. Then again I'm one of the few who actually legitimately likes Hanekawa so yeah.

The intro scenes kinda suck though.

Add to the list Plamoya (http://plamoya.com/en/), their prices are all over the place but some rarer stuff can be found more easily there.

Maybe I should have said specific SATELIGHT's key staff members are involved, but this kind of makes it lose part of its shock value... :p

FIVE
DAYS
Yay! When is this next Newtype out? On the 8th, the 9th or the 10th? If the leaks come 3-to-5 days before street date release approximately... oh, man, I can't even wait peacefully without making guesses like these!

Nekomonogatari 1

In a time before Bakemonogatari started, we have a sexually frustrated main character, evidence of it being him fondling his sisters breast without discrimination. And then sweat coated sister with angle shots and toplessness with jiggle physics.

Hanekawa segment was pretty much a repeat of what happened towards the end of Bakemono, but given the effect of they're... still somewhat strangers.

It did not relieve me of my tiredness though.

Worth it, as long you not expecting much.. Still confuse me why its hated so much at here, Its nothing offensive, only not provide much either.

I was disappointed in SutaDora for staffwhoring reasons, really.

Star Driver should have been mecha-Utena. Igarashi is one of the best of the Ikuhara-school of directors, and Enokido should know how to write this kind of show by now - Melody of Oblivion was at least intriguingly deranged, for instance. So much of the advance material made it seem like it was going to follow a similar strand - the heavy focus on promoting Takuto as the "fabulous" Galactic Pretty Boy, the whole Kiraboshi thing, it all seemed like it would follow the Utena template.

Unfortunately, for whatever reason it didn't work. I've tried watching the show a couple of times and each time I get bogged down at around the same point in the show (pretty early on, really).

For all its nice production values, the show seemed to have a host of problems - no underlying themes to raise interest in the formulaic narrative, uninteresting characters etc.

I guess maybe I'll like the film better when I get the chance to see it, hopefully it'll tighten up the material.

We usually get the news on the 6th (American time).
