Is there such a thing as a Soo Weenie fan, lol?
I really enjoyed S1 and have no idea how th e manga went, but the prospect of a good S2 closing out some of the storylines sounds awesome to me.
And of course I had to beg and plead for a code on Twitter earlier today, lol. Damn Lurker's are gonna gobble those up, lol. Hopefully, one is still there Sun night
Having translated Chuunibyou's first two novels, the writing style, content, and general text is significantly better in Euphonium than them. People mocked KyoAni for not giving out a grand prize before last year, but if they were like Chuunibyou or worse, there's just cause for that.
That said, there's nothing really approaching the depth of characterization in Hyouka from the episodes that I saw of Euphonium. Also, at least the first season of Chuu2 had an arc... bad, sure, but it had an easily recognizable one.

So ANN put out a 2.5 hour podcast about Type Moon with a Type Moon fan... and I'm just curious if anyone tortured themselves listening to it?
When I said that Mikan and Aroma were here to overthrow the gods, that was one of my half-lucid ramblings that one of these episodes produce. It's the best way to watch something like PriPara. When your mind is in a relaxed state, it's open to accepting the oddities and linking things together in unusual ways that the fully alert mindset would reject out of hand. Or maybe that's just me.
And that's exactly what Aroma said. She plans to exceed a God Idol (who, it must be mentioned,
turned a tulpa into a real human
) and become a Devil/Angel idol. As if she was some sort of Chao. But PriPara is about dual identities - odd that an idol show would take up the mantle in a way that magical girl anime are becoming more lax about, and superheroes are becoming more open about - and outside of the independent city-state of idols, Aroma's attempts at playing mind games with dry ice and boomboxes and Goroawase and the number of the beast... just shrivel up before the authority of teachers and Mirei. They're not masterminds, they're problem children who are too caught up in their roleplay.
Next week looks to explain why, but what kind of person would want to overthrow gods? Someone with no sense of scale and nothing to lose. Even if it is being done to promote a fashionable arcade game, those desires have been expressed in all kinds of media. It makes me wonder if Mikan is smarter than she lets on, and she's merely been playing along with Aroma's delusions to keep her happy for some reason that's coming next week.
Still love "Reversible-Ring" as a song. The light pop way it combines musical styles makes for some interesting interplay, and the revelation that they'll be
joining up with Dressing Pafe
is a shocker. I thought, being Lala's classmates and main characters, they'd eventually be subsumed into Solami Smile, but there's still two shadowed idols waiting to debut.
One a princess (as in royalty?), the other a hell if I know. Waiting for more reports from Animate. Kids' shows, merchandising shows, archetypes done cartoonishly... all can still have things to say. It's all in how the viewer interprets it. And I am a viewer. Now, as for my thoughts on the state of Crystal Tokyo...
This episode was a rollercoaster of emotion between happiness and rage. I'm glad it ended on the note it did, I don't think I could have taken a sad end.
Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works s2 18
Shinji is such a creep. Shiro was reckless as usual, but I like him for his recklessness so no complaints.Saber's still the honored knight she is, /bow Saber, you're the best!
Seraph of the End 6
This episode was better than the last one but it didn't do much to bring back the show from the underwhelming status it fell into for me. I'm at the point where the start of the OP, with the loli vampire spinning in her dance with the initial part of the lyrics, is the best part of the show for me, because everything else is just not delivering the revenge, battles and confrontations I want to see, with a side of explanations.
Ixion Saga DT 1-11
This show is awesomely dumb and fun. I love the dumb sexual jokes, the overreaction, the stupid stunts our virgin protagonist pulls and I love the cast of characters. Animation and art isn't the best, but it's such a riot to follow.
I really like these kind of surreal shows that leave a lot to speculation and individual interpretation. Vagueness of the setting alongside decent characters goes a long way. It was good.

Haibane Renmei is so, SO amazing... but one question: While canonically there is no definite explanation for how the world shown in the series exists and why it is as it is, there is a leading theory, considered more credible than the others (even if it's not definite, because it was left somewhat up in the air intentionally).
So, after watching, what did you think was going on?
expecting a shirobako movie too, it just makes more sense for popular series like these (more money) and they fit the movie format well for a sequel, being original anime series.
Funimation just picked up Hosoda's new movie, the Boy and the Beast. Pretty expected, as they also have Summer Wars and Wolf Children. I think they'll be re-releasing The Girl Who Leapt Through Time at some point too.

Felt like some sort of whole after-death kind of situation. Haibane are those who passed away but have some regrets, with their Days of Flight being that they've overcome it and are ready to actually pass on. Sin-bound ones are probably those that committed suicide, like how Rakka is implied to have jumped and Reki ran into a train.
The whole situation with the town have actual humans in it throws a bit of a wrench in that thought, but since the whole town was walled off from the world, and only allowing Toga in/out, could either be a literal location in the world, or some other plane of existence. I actually thought the Communicator and Toga might have been Haibane, either Sin-bound or regular, that never passed on, but they never elaborated on that, so just personal thoughts.
Honey and Clover ep.2-5
While this is still very early and building plotlines at the moment, I can appreciate the college setting this one uses rather than your typical HS show. We are finally getting some back story mixed in for Yuuta, but everything else is still incoherent, lol. Also, Ayumi needs to move on already, but then again, it wouldn't be a slice of life show without some early mild drama. This one is a slow burner, isn't it?
Character introduction goes up to episode 10 or something. Then, when you'll begin to think that you understand them, will begin drama. I really like H&C for the fact that it does a lot of things which you will not see in other anime like at all. Can't talk about them now, but second part of first season and season 2 (it has 13 episodes, so it's much shorter) will be really heavy on drama.
By the way, I'm looking forward to your posts of "wow, they implement ost really good" soon) I hope "Sakana" and "Yoru wo Kakeru" will hit you good)
Reminds me of this rant about Boku ha Tomodachi ga Sukunai, aka I Have Few Friends, the light novel/anime about a guy with no friends who spends his time hanging out with a bunch of girls.
Ninja Slayer 5
Oh, what's that, Trigger? Five weeks in and you want to actually try and to do your job? Well fuck you, you're five weeks too late, write your death poem and get lost.

Where's my flash-sakuga? Actually, seeing the animation become a bit better with each passing episode, i wonder if it slowly turn into OVA quality by the end of it. ED song is also nice this week
