MHA and Tanaka-kun are both my AOTS

I'll probably give RE zero another chance when it's done, the 3 first episode didn't grab me that much and with my One piece watching I had to drop a few shows.

The Flowers of Evil 07

The guilt got to him. Tore him apart from the inside out. He just couldn't handle the trust from his muse he was so unworthy of, but was also too much of a coward to tell her himself. He can't let Nakamura go because she's the only one he can confide his deviancy in and without her it'd just well up and destroy him. But it's not like Nakamura is there for him for the same reasons he believes. Nakamura is a real piece of shit. She's here for the schadenfreude and to make Kasuga into as much of a miserable human being as she is. She hates everyone for being boring and love obsessed but really she just wants to bring everyone down to her despicable level.

And despite that, the last scene was the happiest either of those two have been. Truly living up to The Flowers of Evil, they found beauty in the malevolent. For them - and for the audience - this is their sex. The release of the build up. Letting go of the tension. Breaking down the walls. Embracing being a deviant instead of embracing the relationship built on lies and guilt.

I don't even know where the show goes from here.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
This season its:

Kiznaiver > Kabaneri > Mayoiga > Re: Zero > Flying Witch > Sakamoto

It's not like I dislike any of them, that's just the order I'd go with.

Regarding series that I haven't dropped (so no Hundred, which maybe I should catch up heh, and Joker Game):

Kiznaiver > Flying Witch > Kabaneri > Bungou Stray Dogs > Mayoiga

Luluco is on its own, being a short anime series and all, but it pretty great heh.

Favorite shows of the season for me are Jojo's, Kiznaiver, Flying Witch, Tanaka-kun, and Tonkatsu DJ. It's been a pretty good season overall, I think!

The final scene of that episode is, in my mind, one of the greatest scenes in the history of anime, or even possibly recorded drama as a whole. And the opening of the next episode is on par in my mind. The direction and music is just top notch, and it becomes something you just can't look away from no matter what.

Yup, the classroom destruction scene blew me away.

Space Adventure Cobra Episodes 13-15

These episodes were pretty great. The wacky space adventures I want. A casino gun fight on a giant roulette wheel. A showdown with a giant space genie who ransacks planets. A heist at a museum guarded by robotic dinosaurs. I gotta say, art wise this show has held up pretty well. The episodes flow from one to another pretty well.

Now, time for Rugball to make all real life sports seem lame.

Be surprised if folks were turned off with Tanaka's first episode. I know I did. Thankfully I came back to it and gave it a second chance, and wow did it improve. That first episode just wasn't that great.

tanaka-kun is pretty good but flying witch eats its languid lunch

I don't know. I'm sure Flying Witch gets better, but the first episode was merely competent, with nothing of excellence about the direction, the character designs and art, the timing, the music, the writing, the voice acting, etc. It had some good natural backgrounds but even there whenever it focused man-made buildings the backgrounds became mediocre.

The number of folks not watching Tanaka-kun saddens me.

Before the season started I was looking forward to it and was baffled why I almost never saw it mentioned. Season starts, I watched the first ep, found it really boring save for a scene or two, looked at the list of animes I was watching, decided it was too much and cut it.

I'm thinking of going back and watching it after it finishes, but I fear it might be a Sabagebu situation where everyone hypes it, I watch it and find it utterly boring, unfunny and uninspired.

flying witch is like sabrina the teenage witch

only boring as fuck

flying witch not only is comfy af, but also highly entertaining and have a fantastic cast of characters. I'm having a hard time thinking of a SoL anime I've enjoyed as much as flying witch

I disliked Tanaka-kun for three episodes but then started appreciating it by the fourth. I disliked all the characters at first but have come to actually like Tanaka and Oota with their rather repetitive shtick. And as hosanna says, it's just a well produced and directed package overall.

I'm not usually one to say 'check out at least 4 episodes!' but it worked for me here. Only gave it another go because of the positive receptions from others, after all.

I think Flying Witch is mostly meandering around the same quality. Which is still good, but not on par with Tanaka-kun.

Netoge is waifu pandering to a fucking incredible degree where all of the cute giant tits girl who all want to get impregnated by you also play vidja Gaemz and one is straight up throwing herself at you to get fucked.

Ironically, only the Student Council President is the one that's whaling because she is rich as fuck. Filthy Premium players.

:V

I dunno... I don't really like Ako's look though...

We all know Hundred is the best show of the season anyway.
I don't think anyone can argue that Hundred deserves to be the representative example of Anime of the new Millennium. Welcome to the new age.

Now all I need is a hundred meets infinite Stratos crossover. Where IS gals look at hundred dude straight up shoving his tongue into his harems throat and IS dude meanwhile is like looking at a bug in the ground. They be thirsty as fuck.

I think I actually prefer Flying Witch to Non Non Biyori. It's much more relaxing to watch, and it even has a little bit of Non Non Biyori's rural atmosphere. What I love the most about it is how magic is portrayed; even when meeting supernatural beings, it's very subdued, and it feels more real that way. Not to mention everyone is so likable! Definitely one of my favorites this season.

Flying Witch has a good cast overall but I don't feel the core three (Makoto, Kei, and Chinatsu) are strong enough to carry the show overall. The side characters are the one s who carry it.

Plus even though I like Flying Witch's world is one I enjoy, the problem (like I stated when I watched episode 9) is that the show spends too much time in Kei's house and backyard einstead of exploring this world. I loved the cafe episode because it was the deepest the show had gone into exploring its own world and showing the mystical and supernatural side of it. I wish it would've done that more.

Don't get me wrong, I like Flying Witch a lot, but it feels to me like there hasn't quite been anything on the level of some of the stuff the kids in NNB get up to, in particular the really huge, quiet moments that NNB does really well (the one that jumps to mind is Renge just exploring with the girl who's there for the summer and then absolutely losing it when she realises she had to go home)

On the other hand it made a 17 minute episode set entirely in the cafe just fly by which means to me it's pretty good

That's certainly true, but NNB often didn't focus on those moments (many more episodes focus on comedy, I found). I can agree that NNB may have had higher highs so far, but personally I'm finding Flying Witch more consistent. For whatever reason, it's captured more of my attention and investment. I do enjoy both series, though! They each have their own strengths.
