Everyone’s favorite purple dragon is bringing the heat (actual fire breathing dragon) tomorrow with the November 12 release of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy on Game Pass!

Remade from the ground up, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy features all three of the original games that started it all – Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, amazing for the original fans and new players alike.

Spyro the Dragon
Our new favorite little purple dragon starts on a quest to rescue his dragon friends who have been turned into crystal by the villain Gnasty Gnorc (what an unfortunate and yet apt name!). Spyro explores vibrant Dragon Realms, collects gems, and flambés his enemies, all while learning to how breathe fire and glide.

Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!

Spyro finds himself in the magical land of Avalar where he is trying to save the realm from the evil sorcerer Ripto and his minions. Along the way, he befriends new entirely new allies, overcomes challenges, complete tasks, and unlocks even more powers to take down Ripto and restore peace.

Spyro: Year of the Dragon

In Spyro: Year of the Dragon, Spyro finds out that the Dragon Eggs have been stolen by the devious Sorceress, sending him on a new mission to recover the eggs and save the dragon population. Our favorite purple dragon meets new friends, learns new abilities, all while exploring more vibrant realms with challenges (and treasures!).

Xbox players have been able to explore the Dragon Realms with Spyro since 2018 with the release of the Reignited Trilogy, and now we’re excited to invite our community to jump into these incredible adventures once again and relive the fun and nostalgia that only Spyro can bring.

Available on Game Pass Standard, Game Pass Ultimate, and PC Game Pass, for cloud, console and PC, it’s sure to ignite some serious fun. Let’s go save the Dragon Realms!

did they ever patch the controls?
the launch version had the digital PS1 movement mapped to the analog stick, even tho the PS1 version has Analog support

What are you on about? Do you even know what I'm complaining about? I LOATHE rental services. Hate them with a passion. I could've give 2 fucks what games are on there, I hate gamepass. Is that simple enough for you to understand?

Relax mate, don't feel attacked, it's not about that, you came and wrote "what old games we are getting next", so the reality is that at least for the recent 3 months there are good day one games. You want to make a point against GP/PS Plus etc.. make a thread about it and you may be surprised that i could agree with you on certain points about it's value.

You know what REALLY pisses me off the most about gamepass? Is that it is a failing service that Microsoft felt they HAD to implement in order to help Xbox succeed when they had a model for success with the 360- make/release GREAT EXCLUSIVE (or even exclusive 2nd and 3rd party) games!

Instead they tried to make gamepass the standard so as to bleed out Sony in hopes that they will also see it as the model moving forward, which thankfully they didn't follow (releasing 1st party day and date on launch on PS+).

I was a massive Xbox fanboy and to see them reduced to proclaiming on twitter/X that they are putting Spyro on gamepass like it's some massive exclusive is just a sad fall for the place I used to exclusively game on.

Yeah look, I do go way overboard with gamepass. I just really despise the decisions Microsoft has made in the last 10 years. They were a great competitor to Playstation and in 1 moment of arrogance, they completely botched it. Now they are reduced to advertising a firestick with a controller. Fuck me it's a fall from grace i've never seen in gaming before. And the people prepping up gamepass really fucking shits me... in particular gaming "journos" who should know better.

This is off topic for sure (like most threads here lol), on the outcome i agree with you, Xbox future is unclear and i'm not sure i'll get the next Xbox, one day we'll understand what exactly caused it.. was it Game Pass? lack of exclusives? the big studios purchases? i can't tell for sure, anyway i don't take it hard, still had and have fantastic time with my Series X, and i'm sure we still gonna see great games on Xbox. :)

Spyro is such a mediocre franchise. So is Crash. I feel almost personally offended that these compilation releases have hit like 30+ mil total.

Anyway, can’t wait to download this to reconfirm the fact that Spyro has literally never been good.

And while I’m throwing around unpopular opinions, Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo Kazooie are also limpdick platformers, only barely better than the likes of Gex and 3D Sonic.

Spyro is not the best, but it's absolutely a more competent 3D platformer than Crash

it is good. just not great at anything. the remake has botched controls however. so not necessarily the best way to judge the game

I mean DK64 is straight trash for sure, and Banjo also has many issues. but I feel Banjo is noticeably better than the rest of the games you named here, even tho I also never liked it that much

Yeah, honestly this is kinda exactly how I feel, too. It’s just I never get to be gatekeepy about any genres except 3D platformers, so I’m pretty harsh 😂

BUYING, not RENTING. There is a key difference there...

Was that why you stressed 'last gen game' in your response?

'playing' is all that matters, anyway.

'Failing'? For consumers, it does what it says on the tin.
When MS kicked off GamePass back in 2017, they certainly didn't have the first party setup capable of delivering a steady stream of exclusives, and by then the Xbox had already lost that console race.

Instead they tried to make gamepass the standard so as to bleed out Sony in hopes that they will also see it as the model moving forward, which thankfully they didn't follow (releasing 1st party day and date on launch on PS+).

This is an inane, tinfoil-hat-tier conspiracy theory.

The tweet in the OP is simply an Xbox Wire blog post. You're just being a fucking console warring troll about this, tbh.

They put in Call of Duty weeks ago. Stalker 2 is arriving soon. Indiana Jones, next month. MSFS 2024 in the next few weeks. All anticipated AAA titles.

There are a million and one threads about 'The State Of Xbox' already, where you can sound off on. Makes no sense for you to shit this one up because of a family friendly title sandwiched between AAA games.
