Final Fantasy VII remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi in a new Creator's Voice video posted by Nintendo appears to confirm the entire remake series will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.

"I hope players are looking forward to Final Fantasy VII remake series on Nintendo Switch 2," said Hamaguchi.

I'm sure am looking forward to playing the remakes
in 540p upscaled to 4K

Looking at how shocking Rebirth was on base PS5, the base PS6 performance probably won't be much better for part 3. Wait for the Pro.

This was fairly obvious but nice to have it confirmed for those that want it. Should do extremely well on the platform.

Part 3 has already been hinted by square that it's coming to PS5 generation not PS6

I think there's no way Part 3 will be a Ps6 exclusive.
Cross gen, sure, but not exclusive.
Rebirth already didn't sell as well as expected, they aren't going to limit part 3 to only people who have played and enjoyed the 2 previous parts AND also have a Ps6.

I mean, 480p upscaled with DLSS will probably look better than whatever the fuck Square was doing on the base Ps5 (at least in performance mode).

Yeah, he said this in the original trailer as well

"Please look forward to more updates on the Final Fantasy VII remake Project for Switch 2". Saying project instead of just FFVII remake hinted that they plan to bring the other titles over too.

Of course. Sony have entirely shit the bed in Japan and the franchise is in decline everywhere. They simply can't afford to ignore giant install bases like the Switch's now and the system is powerful enough to run the games, no brainer.

The reason it's happening likely has nothing to do with performance. In Japan the Switch audience is much larger than Playstation's. On Switch, FF has a chance of selling like the classic games in Japan. That's very attractive to SE..

That's underselling it. Playstation is dead in Japan.

You heavily underestimate the power of dlss.
4k is hugely overrated.
1440p looks sexy af even on a 4k monitor.
If they manage to have the game running 60fps while looking better than base ps5 version, it'll be a huge win in my book.
4k is as meaningful as 540p if the framerate isn't 60.

I have been holding out for the "Complete Edition" with the full game, but that doesn't seem to be coming anytime soon. Would be incredible on Switch 2.

I couldn't even imagine trying to go through Rebirth, Remake, and the third game all in one go. You can call that the full game but that shit would be like 140 hours of gaming and that's just mainlining it really.

Are you joking or trolling?

Really? That sounds like they over-engineered FF7 and it really isn't a remake. :(

Seeing how Cyberpunk switch 2 looks nearly as good as ps5 pro, neither.
I believe it's entirely possible, but not sure just how much better. If possible.
Half of me wants it to look better, while the other half is keeping reality in check.
Ultimately, I care more about 60fps and anything above 1080p.
With any luck, it won't look as muddy as base 60fps ps5 version.
ESPECIALLY ff7 rebirth.
My bad for not mentioning that first.

I mean it does in the sense Switch 2 can run the games with reasonable results. What we've seen of Remake looks pretty good, if it's really Switch 2 footage and not some PC build. They could never have ported the game to the first Switch for ex despite the fact it potentially could have sold much more than on PS5.

Remove the pointless padding, Ubisoft game design, dumb minigames and throw Chadley into the Ocean and you could do a full story easily in probably 30-45 hours with no filler. It really isn't that big of a game.

Something that would be tough in one go is playing through every Xenoblade since that is arguably a 300+ hour timesink.
