Square Enix teasing their E3 booth

Yeah, that! It looked sort of DMC meets Castlevania and you know, kind of fresh and exciting for them, so I'm sure it'll never see the light of day because the team is too busy working on never ending Lighting Returns DLC or something.

Take a picture of some cellphones Internet browsers and some trash and you will have a accurate depiction of the square e3 booth

You must have mixed up the Ouya and Square Enix booth.

I really just think its because KH3 will be PS3/PS4 as has been said. If KH3 was planned for 360/720/Wii U I think they would have ported the collection as well.
Do you also think the fact the Splinter Cell HD Collection is PS3 only means the next Splinter Cell game is PS3/PS4 only?

Final Fantasy XIII-3_v3.55 Lighting's Reappearence confirmed GOTY! j/k

Sony's reveal also had a new FF announcement. So expect XV or possibly a spinoff coming to PS4 (and maybe 720/PC) or a Vita tile perhaps

No, but I think the collections are part of lead up for KH3 and it would be stupid not to release it on systems where the sequel will be.

They have commented the collections are part of their strategy to bringing the games back to consoles and making the shit easier for fans to follow and stop the ridicilous spread of games. If the collections were PS3 exclusive and the sequel is not that would go directly against what they are trying to do with the series now.

And I do think KH3 will be PS3/PS4 only.

Nomura's involvement in these games was minimal and Versus has a very different team. I don't think it's reasonable to infer from the quality of these that Versus won't be good.

I'm pretty sure all games are collective efforts, even if leading person can influence game a lot, we see enough examples of that, still a team makes a game, no?

Unlike series like Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell, etc. some series like KH are just...exclusive. This is especially common with a lot of Japanese games. I don't know if it's just a Japanese thing. Given the series' history it'd definitely be weird if it went multiplat with KH3 even if it has a big budget or porting would be easy, etc. That's just my take. It's also the reason why I really don't think Versus will be cross gen because SE never creates two noticeably different versions of games unless it's an MMO and this never happens with JRPGs.

No there are various teams in SE, so its not the same team.

He just means that games are a collective effort, not just the product of one person and such. But even a few key members can definitely take games in different directions than others.

I think KH3 will be PS3/4 only too, but I don't think that means this collection is PS3 only for that reason. Even if Sony has locked down KH3, they'd never pay to lock down the HD Collection, so it'd be basically free money to put it on 360... If SE were willing to throw the resources in it, which I think is the real reason. The team for the port was very very small, Sony provide development software for HD Remasters already, and the 360 and Wii U market in Japan is worthless.

SE published the remakes of Star Ocean 1 and 2 on PSP, and they included a trailer for SC4, which was initially 360 exclusive in the ports. I don't think they care even nearly as much as this concept suggests.

26 pages? But the OP has literally nothing. Or did I miss something?

Rumors and speculation make people crazy.

That's assuming the same people are involved in the decision making for SO and KH...which I doubt. Pretty much all the ideas and decisions from this series come from Nomura...and I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted 1.5 Remix on PS3 only (given that all his other games are exclusive) and SE just agreed.

OK, I see I can't get through, what team making Versus made this gen for you to believe in Versus?

I understand what you mean now. Tbh I was interested in Versus for the characters, setting and reading that the combat will be like KH (KH team are working on it iirc) not because of who was in charge.

Didn't you smell it?

Obviously but I see Nomura as someone like Mikami or Kamiya. He seems to have a considerable influence on the outcome of a project and his directing is reflected in the choice of the people he works with and the product they create.

Of course, if one doesn't like his games that's a different matter.

I wouldn't be so sure. Word has it they were the ones that pushed SE on FFX HD. And games like KH1 and FFX really don't need the 360 audience to sell well outside of Japan either given the large JRPG-buying fanbase who own a PS3 by now.

The FFX Collection, sure, that's the biggest thing coming to Vita, but KH? I would seriously doubt it.

Unfortunately, we'll never really know. It could just be part of a greater exclusivity contract though. I tend to believe the simplest explanation is the most likely, and I think it's more likely that SE just don't think it's worth porting.

KH1 was a huge seller, especially outside of Japan.

People are majorly, majorly excited about the KH HD release. I know people know don't even game regularly anymore, and people who don't play JRPGs anymore who remember it being one of their favorite experiences on the PS2 and being excited to pick it up. Especially those who didn't play CoM.

Is it bad that I want this?
Staring Rikku and her new companions, out to make her own name in Spira! A new threat is rising and the various factions have once again become bumbling messes, Paine only works as a mercenary anymore and so is only of sporadic help, Tidus and Yuna are too busy screwing and playing blitzball and living boring besaid lives to do anything, Brother has finally been put in an asylum!... Theme music by Noa Nowa!

Yes, you should be begging for a prequel about High Summoner Braska.

Auron, Jecht and Braska.

Enough said.

Nomura doesn't get to decide to lose SE four million sales. If he has a hard-on for Sony as people claim, and I doubt he has, being on PS3 and 4 won't affect that.

Being ps4 exclusive doesn't lose four million sales. That's not how it works.

SE needs to use this opportunity to reset FF and get a clean start after this gen's debacle. Squeezing a few extra sales at the cost of the that is far less important.

KH HD was primarily for the Japanese market, there's no worth to putting out WiiU or 360 versions. It's the same thing as Ni no Kuni, it's exclusivity in the West is just a result of the rival consoles viability in Japan.

I agree. And by the same token, KH3 and FFXV are also primarily for the JP market, so there's no worth putting out WiiU or Xbox versions.

Every FF is different. What exactly would be be resetting, unless this is a euphemism for "they need to make the next one like FF VI?"

New platform, new story, new gameplay.

This gen has seen a shitty FFXIII trilogy and a failed MMO. There wasn't much difference in the FF games this gen. If you didn't like FFXIII and you don't play MMO's, you were out of luck.

"this week"
scenario 1: revealed at XBOX event
scenario 2: SCE x SE effort

also another fun fact:
@aibo_ac7 found that the name of Noctis perfume is FINAL FANTASY eau du toilette Noctis, with no VERSUS XIII.

New platform? Wii U? Megaton!

Hope crushed

It's probably Thief.

smoke clear = thief

windows = microsoft

that's what I got from that tweet. If they were smart enough to disguise that like that. Otherwise, huge coincidence.

Would break GAF if Final Fantasy Versus going multi though (I doubt at this point that that's even remotely possible).
