Are you guys actually buying those keys? Is there some other way to get them? Very spendy.
w00t, been having a good run at Infected Elite with the optional
Cure elite is still a pain in the ass, too many people go to the Kang and still get pwned, and soloing the probes isn't really possible when the cube can two shot you
You can hit the probes without being in range of the cube if you come in from the bottom. That said, I tried Cure a few times on elite and decided it's not worth the effort, happy with my Borg engines anyway =P Infected is pretty idiot proof, and completable even if you have a group full of terribles, so I just do that one.
Just found out that buying a C-Store ship unlocks it for all applicable characters on an account. That definitely makes me want to buy the real Defiant sooner or later.
While I was playing yesterday, I randomly clicked some players to see their portraits and saw a rather impressive rendition of a Na'vi. I actually did a double take at first, then read the biography to confirm that it was intentional. I'll have to play around with creating random aliens to see what I can emulate from other series someday.
so... Bird of Prey or Raptor?

If it's one of the more advanced ships and you plan to use it quite a bit, I would do it provided that you can bring the price down a little.Do you guys think its dumb to shell out 25 bucks for a new ship =/
I have a question: is it better to have cannon scatter volley III or attack patten omega III, when I already have attack pattern alpha III and beta II?

My Bortas is the gas machine
I am developing a fun run, literally, flying over enemies and ejecting warp plasma setting ships ablaze in plasma fires (especially Borg cubes)... oh it IS like dusting crops boy
Such fun
i gotta say, the Bortas is like a whole other league above the Odyssey as it stands right now
For Tactical Escorts, can I just pick dual plasma cannon and be good?
I have no idea how to outfit it.
You can use any weapons you want, or you can specialize in one... if you do, make sure you get some consoles that improve the firepower of that specific energy type
Has anyone been able to do the optional on KA space elite?
I finally started doing STFs yesterday, but it's kind of annoying how you have to wait an hour to do the same mission again. I've only done normal Khitomer Accords so far, and that didn't seem so bad, apart from teammates seemingly ignoring the probes heading for the vortex from the other side and my having to fly around to take care of them before too many got through. All I've gotten from three rounds so far is four EDCs and two rare Borg salvage. I used the two RBS to pick up a nice Mk XI phaser beam array.
Are the "Assimilated" pieces of gear in the retro section the ones I need to modify my ship's appearance? It seems like it would take quite a long time to actually farm the stuff for those. I'm not sure if I'm really up for the Elite STFs yet, as I still get destroyed from time to time in normal.

Just starting... to science or not to science...
I changed ships since yesterday, so I now have two tactical officer stations instead of one. One of my officers has cannon rapid fire II and cannon scatter volley III, provided that I put him in the tactical commander station (which means giving up on using attack pattern omega III). However, I can also replace cannon rapid fire II with torpedo high yield III. This option is more appealing to me, since I only have one cannon but two torpedoes equipped.Scatter/Rapid Fire is probably going to produce more DPS than adding Omega III to your list I believe. Omega III only adds damage to your exist shots and it's not all that much but Scatter/Rapid actually increase the number of shots you take overall. What I usually do is have 3 Tactical officers, one with Spread/Scatter Volley I and III and the other with whatever offensive buffs I can get. The 3rd will have High Yield/Rapid Fire I/III and is swapped with the main guy depending on what I need to do, assuming you're talking about using the Fleet or Advanced Escorts.
Alternatively, High Yield 1/Rapid Fire 1/Spread III/Scatter Volley III on one and reverse it on the other tact officer. Swap them depending on when you need more AOE or Single target.
Most of the differences only become evident during combat. From time to time there are story-related objectives that can only be done by specific officers, but they don't affect the game much, nor the outcome of the mission (for example, tactical/engineering/science officers are given slightly different objectives to advance past a certain point, but the mission resumes normally from there). I've never been an engineer, but you would have access to more technical skills like shield generators and weapon malfunctions. Tactical is generally more combat orientated, with things like grenades and temporary stat improvements.I'm downloading this.
Could someone explain the difference between a tactical guy and and engineering guy? I understand the conceptual differentiation but I'd want practical/gameplay examples, like:
Q: How would you approach a same given situation with an engineer and with a tactician?
A1: With my engineer I'd deploy this and activate that and...;
A2: With my tactician I'd use this ability and use that approach so....
Sorry for the demanding request but the last MMOThing I played was Ultima Online, 10 years (or more) ago.
This can be fixed. The "tailor" doesn't just let you modify clothes, but all the options you had when modifying appearance in the first place. Only species and gender remain fixed. The more changes the more energy credits they'll charge, though. I recently made a "Feral" costume for one of my guys, where his uniform stays the same, but he gets longer hair and beard and starts using the Creature pose.lol I'm an idiot. I set up my character in the wrong resolution so the aspect ratio was off and she is way taller and slimmer than I thought. Oh well.
