Really contemplating whether or not to buy this. Would really like a singleplayer-option ... and more "in the air"-stuff (like Rogue Squadron), but I guess that is just a small portion of this. Also, what is left of the game the day they turn off servers? And aren't DICE/EA notorious for day1-problems (bugs, server problems)?
But then again, I'm a sucker for most things Star Wars.
And Blast is such a basic team deathmatch that I wonder why they even bothered.
so wtf, you just get a lock-on and your missiles and lasers just home in?
3. There will definitely be space/air battles in the future, I'd be amazed if not.
Yes and it's kinda shit that you don't get any points towards your level or buying unlocks. I did 2 of them and didn't see anything.
Questions:
How are the hero pickups handled in Fighter Squadron. In other words, how do you play as Falcon/Slave I?
I'm actually really disappointed that customization is so vanilla. A lot of different faces, but little to no variation in the actual armor/clothes you're wearing, except for the TWO Scout and Shadow trooper unlocks.
2. There will be a day when the servers shut down, but the PS5/Xbox Two will likely have been out for a few years by then.
Thank you for deciding when we should stop playing the games we paid for, and should no longer continue to enjoy! And anyways, online shooters need to be played as seasonal products. Pay 60$, play it for a year. You've gotten your moneys worth by then when the sequel comes out.
EA's actually usually good about keeping servers online.EA will probably shut the servers down after 2 years or so. Why bother when Battlefront 2 will be out already.

Well this just happened
They still haven't shut down Bad Company 1 and the older games only went down because GameSpy died. They still haven't shut down Battlefield 3, so I don't think this is something that needs to be worried about.

gl playing with nobody for the next week starting tomorrow
Well this just happened
"Trading disc"
Is this something they are trying to make happen?
Huh?
Yes, it's ridiculous.
I doubt that everyone who wants to try the game are doing so right away, nor will everyone burn through the 10 hours that quickly. I'm sure there will be plenty of people playing until it officially launches. He's saying that everyone is going to have used up their 10 hour preview by today, so no one will be able to play until launch.
Hey don't knock down the connexions. They're actually really cool
The Diorama thing looks cool.
Is IGN's review in progress really complaining about TDM in a shooter? It's a shooter... if they DIDN'T have a TDM mode, you'd wonder. Not ever game mode needs a schtick.

Do you have any footage of Diorama mode? Ive been curious as to what it exactly entails.

I played for 5 hours today, then burnt out. I'll return later. There will be plenty of people playing through to launch.
You can also cheese the 10 hour limit easily enough.
