sonyrewards.com but I don't know if you'll have any points if you didn't previously have an account. But it doesn't hurt to link it up now anyway for points in the future, all PSN purchases count.

I didnt even know this was a thing but apparently I have 557 points. Which is enough for...nothing.

If I buy the season pass now, what extras might I get?
A shoot first emote, a discount off buying the DLC separately, access to Outer Rim content on Tuesday 3/22, 2-week early access for the upcoming DLC packs, and perhaps additional perks in the future.

Any chance Cargo will get any love in these expansions or is it all heroes and big game modes?
Cargo is getting sweet sticky love in Outer Rim

Oh sweet thanks. Finally!

This game really feels like a labor of love from DICE. I bet a lot of them were getting tired of only doing Battlefield over and over.

If DICE gives this game as much post content support as they did with BF4, it's going to be pretty amazing at the end.

Yup can't wait for Bespin, Death Star, More free dlc including weapons, star cards etc, battlefront VR experience and the forth dlc. And all the upcoming features

Battlefront is going to play very different at the end of this year. If all the support etc goes on.

EDIT:
Ok didnt know that Extraction is 15v15. Will probably check that mode out then.

Sorry for the long post, I attempted to put together a better list of what we know so far. Feel free to add, modify or correct as needed as I’m sure I forgot stuff. Hope it helps a bit until we receive official patch notes.

Outer Rim General Info

Outer Rim is considered "close quarters" pack
4 maps – Jabba’s Palace, Jabba’s Sail Barge Garage, SoroSuub Refinery, Sorosuub Pipelines.
All modes are 8v8.
Outer Rim will work like a playlist. You can select a game mode (Extraction, for example), but after the 2 rounds are over it proceeds to the next game mode. Dice has said generally speaking, playing through the entire playlist takes approximately 8-10 hours.
Greedo and Nien have sliding scale traits. In other words, they level up as you get kills.
Nien’s abilities – Anti-infantry turret. As you get kills, it levels up to explosive shot. Has Pulse Cannon with fast cooldown. On small/indoor maps his last ability it proximity mines, he is able to plant 4 at a time. On large/outdoor maps, he has Orbital Strike instead of mines.
Greedo’s ability (corrections may be needed) – an ability similar to Han’s Lucky Shot. Grenades – can level up grenade type as you get kills. Level 1 is Dioxsis, level 2 is Thermal Detonator and Level 3 is Imploder. He also has some sort of multi lock-on one shot infantry kill ability. Greedo’s abilities can also decrease (level down).
New Star Cards (exclusive to DLC) –Dioxsis Grenade, Adrenaline Stim
New weapons (exclusive to DLC) – Scatter Gun, Relby V-10 semi-automatic rifle, Greedo’s pistol
Greedo and Nien are in MP modes only, but will be patched in SP modes at a future date.

Hutt Contracts
New Star Cards can be purchased through Jabba. You must first purchase the contract with credits, then you are given in-game requirements. After the requirements are met, you get the new card.
Dice has confirmed that all future free Star Cards will be accessible via Hutt Contracts.
Everyone gets access to two weapons without Outer Rim DLC – the DL-18 and DLT-19x

Game Mode Updates
Team balancing will transpire when map changes.
Dennis alluded to breaking up parties and putting them on opposing teams if necessary for balancing.
When playing as a Hero in an objective-based game mode the Hero can indicate which objective he/she will pursue via an input command.
New level cap is 60, reaching Lvl 60 will unlock Weequay skin for the rebels. No Imperial skins this release, but more are coming in future releases.
Combat Roll - soldiers and some heroes can now perform an evasive combat roll by strafing and double-tapping the crouch button (consoles). All soldiers can combat roll, as can the following heroes - Han, Leia, Nien Nunb, Greedo.
A spectator mode will be implemented in private matches - 1st person , 3rd person, free camera and hudless modes for cinematic capture.
Vader will be getting a buff – the changes we know of is his block time will be increased from 4s to 8s, longer saber throw and increased health.
Quick Match options - can matchmake by multiple game sizes – 12, 16, and 40 player games.

Extraction
Rebels must escort the cargo through checkpoints. Each checkpoint has a time limit. If the cargo is brought to the final checkpoint, the Rebels win. Otherwise, Imperials win.
If you get the hero pickup, the hero is chosen for you. More than one hero can be present on each team, a new team-specific hero pickup appears as time passes and phases of the game progress.
Rebels will get a hero in first phase and strategy will be to stay alive for future phases when Imperials get heroes. Dennis stated Vader will be 3rd phase villain for the imperials.

Heroes vs Villains
You now choose your hero.
Outer rim is 8v8 with 4 heroes on each side, vanilla content remains 3v3 but the new heroes are selectable.
Only 2 Honor Guards/Shock Troopers will spawn per round.

Hero Hunt
New method to become Hero in Hero Hunt – the top 3 damage dealers to the hero are given a chance to become the hero via a “wheel of fortune”. Your chances and section of the wheel are determined by how much damage you dealt. The person who is chosen becomes the hero, then there damage to hero resets, while all others keep their damage dealt.

Fighter Squadron
Ramming change – when ships of the same size collide, both will die. If a small ship collides with a large ship, the small ship dies.

Weapons and Star Cards
Scatter gun pierces personal shields
Adrenaline Stim triggers regeneration immediately
New power up (for all players) – Ion Disruptor. Charge weapon that looks immensely powerful and can kill multiple enemies simultaneously. Effective against all vehicles and turrets.
Barrage will be getting a buff.
Grenades and Missiles no longer go through squad shields. Cycler, Scattergun will still pierce shield and Ion Grenade will auto nullify it.

So I'm thinking of picking this up for my PS4 this weekend. How is the game treating new players? Will I be wasted by high level weapons and perks or is it pretty fair from the start?

Its pretty level, though you will be at a disadvantage until you get the Jumppack which I believe is a level 13 unlock.

You will have good weapons from the start. I mainly play with one of the starting blasters still. And you level up pretty fast in the beginning - the last weapon unlock is at level 24 i think. If you have an ok aim you will do more then fine.
Biggest advantage experience players have is probably mapknowledge.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm looking forward to it!

You can only combat roll left and right, not forward and back. So that should cut down the cheese.

For Outer Rim and it working like a playlist...

Does that mean you can't play Extraction over and over like you can vanilla Cargo or the like? You actually would have to jump out and reselect Extraction if you want to continue it, since it is playlist style?

Why don't they say what game modes are playable on each map?

Cargo has only gotten one map since release.... bulllshit

They were playing cargo on Jabba's Palace in the stream, I'm assuming at least one of the other three supports Cargo as well. But yeah, a solid list would be nice.

This is the post I'm looking for.

Awesome! Cheers mate!

But what of the playlist situation? Says Outer Rim content is via a playlist?

Does that mean we have to exit out every time the mode switches, and go back into the mode again? I am so confused about this playlist scenario. Wish they were more clear.

So my understanding is that a playlist contains 8-10 hours of revolving content before it resets to thet start.

therefore, it would go Extraction 1,HvV, Cargo, Extraction 2, DZ, HvV 2 etc for the duration of the playlist till it resets to Extraction 1 again.

No dropzone I think

Yes, I think that's the case.

Right, but can we just select the maps in some vanilla modes, like cargo, like we can now with the current maps, and not deal with the playlist? Or are these maps playlist setup only?

You can select the map and mode. But I think after that game you will go into the playlist

No, you can select a mode and you begin playing that mode, but in the round that follows you have to play the next mode.

Yes, if you want to play one mode in Outer Rim like Cargo for example, you can select that mode as normal but after the 2-round match you won't continue playing that mode. Like Oz Elz and Pint said it will move to another map/game type. You'd have to back out each time and reselect the mode again. IMO I don't like this, but I realize they are doing it to ensure there will always be a game available in the DLC. I hope the DLC sales weren't so low they were forced to do this.

Gotcha! That makes much more sense. Thanks fam, lol.

At first I was like: that's pretty lame, but having thought about it some more I don't think I mind it that much. My go to modes are Walker Assault and Dropzone and both are not available in Outer Rim, so It forces me to play some of the other modes (which I enjoy as well, but don't play very often cause of WA and DZ). I just hope that Extraction is as fun as it appears to be.

I think the no server browser forced thier hand on having Outer Rim as a playlist.

Eventually after a while most fringe modes become empty when DLC is introduced.

But saying that a SB never helped BF4 to find a lot of games on other modes either.

I really hope the season pass model gets ditched after this.

Monetise something else pls

Aye, modes and maps should be free for everyone, just make the season pass weapons, heroes, star cards, and customization (for Battlefront 2). Plenty of people would still buy it.

I personally think 90% of season pass-buyers mainly buys it for the new maps/locations

True, it also makes sure the vanilla game is not barren, since you will end up match-maked into a mode/map from vanilla I presume?

Or is the rotating playlist only for Outer Rim content? (Which I doubt if it is 8-10 hours long to square one.)

Agreed.
Only outer rim I think.

Let's say a normal match takes 10 minutes. And you will play two rounds so thats 20 minutes for one map in one mode. I think theres 7 modes in outer rim and 4 maps. So the total is around 9 hours

Yup.

And i rather still keep paying for quality maps.

This free Updates other games are doing arent that great IMO...

And Microtransactions is just another annoying thing

And in regards to playlists, this is how things will go for the future:

Every DLC gets its own playlist.

And yes they changed the MP Menu.
