- The old stars get paid to be there. Quite a lot actually. Plenty of them have been there in years where they weren't in the movies.
- His acting career isn't exactly on fire.
- He might still have fond memories of it all.
- Ewan McGregor always cared less about appearing at events like this, and he doesn't really need the money. If they announce an Obi Wan movie, he'll be there though.

But I really can't see them putting Hayden in one of the movies. At most as a Force Ghost or something small.

I think the fact that McGregor doesn't seem to be turning up for this celebration might be a possible pointer that an Obi-Wan spin-off announcement isn't happening any time soon. If they're going to announce the film, I'd imagine the organizers would want him up on stage to get people excited.

In interviews, Edwards has actually talked in the past about how much he'd love to see an Obi-Wan spin-off happen, and how he'd like to see such a film executed, so it seems like a good fit.

I dont think hes a good fit for character driven movies tbh. Its easily his weakest point as an director.

Just saw that Forces for Destiny thing.

I think it's a very fun idea, and I'm not at all opposed to Star Wars things not being aimed at just me, but I just wish the animation was a bit better? Especially since they got the movie actors involved. But since this is a series of youtube shorts with, presumably, a relatively low budget and because I'm not even in the target audience for it I probably shouldn't complain.
