Star Wars Episodes VII-IX but actually good.

So this guy did 3 videos of how the sequels should have been done, with AI generated images for a storyboard video for his entire sequel trilogy.
He kept all the new characters from the Disney sequels, such as Rey, Finn, Poe, Ben/Kylo, Knights of Ren, Phasma, Snoke, Hux, the First Order etc, he kept most of the major plot points, such as Emperor returning, Han dying's, destruction of Coruscant, Kylo killing Snoke etc.
But somehow still made it all work beautifully, there is a character arc for everyone, there is drama, twists, the returning characters Luke, Han, Lando, Leia etc all get to be heroic, yet the new characters all play major roles in the story and becomes the central heroes by the end, and he manages to weave in EU elements such as Star Forge, Mara Jade, Revan into the story and manages to tie all nine movies together.

Just watch the first one, and if you like Star Wars at all I bet you'll be hooked and watch the next 2.

destruction of Coruscant
That never happened in the movies.

Colin Trevarrow’s EpIX was going to be set almost entirely on Coruscant, but then Book of Henry released and everyone realized he couldn’t direct (And his EpIX could not be made without Carrie Fisher).

Might give these a go when I have time. They can't be more of a waste of time than 7/8/9 and I can have them on in the background. Thanks OP

My alternative universe proposal: VII - IX should have just been an adaptation of Kotor 1. Adam Driver as Revan, Daisy Ridley as Bastila, John Boyega as Jolee, Oscar Isaac as Carth. Check is in the mail, Star Wars IP stays relevant for at least a few more years and doesn’t piss off wide swathes of the fanbase, gg no re

I'm in the middle of watching the Last Jedi one.

It's pretty good actually, even if it has that obvious fan fiction feel (the darker, mature tone along with more violence). I'd go as far as to say it almost feels a bit more anime-ish (like Naruto) than classic Star Wars.

I dunno these look like they would probably be like the prequels but i think the sequel trilogy should have had luke as the real hero and main character

For anyone who's already watched the videos, does the creator still shove Finn into the side character slot or does he actually expand on his character in a good way? If he gets shoved into 'side character' territory again, than this guy will understand Finn's character arc from 7 just as much as Rian Johnson did, which is very little.

In terms of Hamill's age, the perfect time to do this would have been in the late 2000s or early 2010s decade. That way enough time would have passed since the prequels.

IIRC, even Lucas didn’t intend Lucas to be the main focus past VI.

Honestly, good thing. In the original EU, it doesn’t take long before Luke gets way too OP and is having to face Eldritch beings and Force-immune other-dimension armies to pose a threat to him.

They just felt very out-of-left field for me.

Also, the saga took WAY too long. We went from individual book trilogies to like a 12-book story, Geezus Christ. I only made it halfway, when a big character died and yet I felt nothing because everything felt so dragged out. Editorial definitely needed to step in and tell them to pick up the pacing and narrow the focus (I heard a bunch of side plots and new supporting characters go nowhere or just straight up vanish).

Considering the following saga apparently shits all over Jacen and Mara Jade, sounds like I made the right call in jumping ship when I did.

I love The New Jedi Order, Fate of The Jedi, and Legacy of the Force

VIII ruined Star Wars forever. Nothing could retcon that. 40 years creating a fantastic lore for nothing.

Flying Leia, FFS.

I couldn't really watch this, not because the ideas are bad but because Star Wars is just one big "coulda woulda shoulda" now and I'm sick of that. Great, another reminder of how much real Star Wars sucks.

Flying Leia is the only thing that piece of shit had going for it.

I will always say that having Luke basically turn into Yoda in TLJ could have worked if you spent a good portion of the film going over what he had been up to for the past 20-30 years via flashbacks. IE 30-40 minutes of the film with good writing and direction. Unfortunately that chunk of time was wasted on the casino planet side plot that was a complete waste of time. (And that's one of the smaller problems TLJ has.)

I got through the first one, and while there are interesting parts, bringing back the emperor is dumb. Always will be. Even in Heir to the empire where it is a clone.

I think what you could do if you insist on Palpatine is have him have a dark force ghost that is red and not blue. He could guide the new sith Lord. I think the idea the worked best was to have a Sith lord that was immortal show up. Sipodeus or some dumb thing.

Or you just do a new industrial power that rose from the outer reaches of the galaxy. They just need a way to mitigate force users. Or you just have a Dark jedi army that had been building and training for years surprise people and begin to take over.
