Only played half an hour, but I'm liking it a lot. Because I finished playing Fallen order a couple of weeks ago, it feels like I'm just continuing the same game, but with more polished gameplay.
Every control and game mechanic is in the same place as before.
In terms of performance, the good news is that it does a shader compilation at start. It takes only a couple of minutes.
There are no shader compilation stutters, but there are the occasional stutter from asset streaming. Seems to be only when entering a new area.
But asides from that, the game is very smooth, with an almost perfect frame time graph.
Vram usage is around 8.5 to 11GB. I don't know how it will be in the open world level.
The game is very CPU limited. I'm getting around 70-90 fps. Most of the time it's around 80's.
GPU usage, with FSR2 Quality, is around 70-80%. I'm playing with RT off.
The game looks very good.
On another note, there is no engine.ini to edit. As with Jedi Fallen order. We'll have to wait for a mod to unlock the pak that has it.
But UUU works perfectly, so that's nice.
The streaming pool is set at 3000MB for me. But it's not limited to vram.
There is an option to disable motion blur on the settings menu, but it does not disable all motion blur settings. It has to be done using UUU.
Filmgrain also has to be disabled with UUU. The game has no vignette enabled.
AF is only set to 8X. SSGI is off by default.
I still have to finish a couple of side quests on Dead Island 2, so I'll wait a bit before going in to this game.
I also have Dead Space remake installed. And I'm considering playing this first and waiting for a few patches for Jedi Survivor.
So no, the port is not a mess. The only issue is CPU usage, as usual with UE4 games, so the GPU gets bottlenecked.
Asides from that, it's pretty good so far.
