Star Wars |OT| I have a very good feeling about this...

I'm sure you won't need to see Clone Wars before Rogue One but it does at least demonstrate some of Lucasfilm's commitment to a consistent canon. The animated shows may not be required but they can't be dismissed as being completely irrelevant.

This.

The shows are part of the story and will be respected, not overwritten by movies because of the notion that they're "the real deal". That's something Marvel should do too.

For sure. I know why it's not happening at Marvel but it's nice to see Star Wars going both ways between Movies and TV, even a little bit. I'm sure it will be predominantly Movies to TV for Star Wars but it's nice to see it go the other way for once.

EW have got some new images now.

A few of my favourites:

EW: 'Rogue One' creators address reshoot concerns

“There’s lots of little things that we have to get, but it’s all little things within the preexisting footage,” he said. One complication, he added, was that the cast is large, so individual shots with small groups of them add to the schedule.

“There’s nothing about the story that’s changing, with a few things that we’re picking up in additional photography,” she said. “I think that’s the most important thing, to reassure fans that it’s the movie we intended to make

I'm scared for those regular styled stormtroopers in knee high water, dont they know that there are specialists for those extreme conditions.

In an recent Q&A on social media, Jackson was asked why his character, Mace Windu, was killed at the end of Star Wars Episode III—Revenge of the Sith. (To recap: Emperor Palpatine uses Force lighting to attack Windu, causing him to fall out of the window of a very tall Senate Building.)

“In my mind I’m not dead,” Jackson said. “Jedi’s can fall incredibly high distances and not die.”

Asked by Entertainment Weekly to elaborate on his position that Mace Windu survived the fall against all odds, Jackson doubled down. “Jedi’s can fall from amazing distances and there’s a long history of one armed, one handed Jedis.[sic]” Jackson said he told Lucas he thought Windu was still alive, to which the creator of the Star Wars universe replied, according to Jackson, “I’m OK with that. You can be alive.”

Did anyone else think Bloodlines was sorts idk underwhelming?
Nope. Many of the adult novels have been underwhelming, Bloodline is the one I'd recommend to people. Gray nails Leia's dialogue and motivations and I enjoyed a story offering more insight into the pre-TFA political scenario. Many of the new characters were likeable too. Ransolm's definitely one of my favourite new characters and how his
story ended was a real kick in the teeth
.

Weird

I preferred Lost Stars by a mile
What didn't you like about it? I was a bit disappointed that Rinnrivin Di was
disposed of so quickly
after all that build up despite him not being the main antagonist, but the fleshing out of the First Order's origins was excellent. It was encouraging to find Rian had some input there.

I REALLY hope the Ahsoka book doesn't suck

Speaking of Ahsoka, she's getting her own panel at Celebration this month. Looks like they'll be discussing the book as well.

Join The Clone Wars and Rebels Supervising Director Dave Filoni, actress Ashley Eckstein (voice of Ahsoka Tano) and Lucasfilm Story Group’s Pablo Hidalgo to discuss untold tales of Ahsoka’s past, from her discovery by the Jedi Order as a young child, to her adventures in unproduced episodes of The Clone Wars, to the chapters of her life newly revealed in the Ahsoka novel and more!

Simon Kinberg's hinted at more crossovers between the animated shows and films after the Saw Gerrera news.

What’s lovely is, obviously, we’ve brought in characters from Clone Wars in the second season, and we keep sort of bringing characters from the original movies and sort of deepening the relationships between our core characters, the Ghost crew,” he told Moviefone. “So it’s trying to balance the two different things, like the original cast from the first season with Clone Wars, with characters from the original movies, and maybe even feeding into future movies.”

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
I know season 3 of Rebels is gonna appear there.

Do we know when they are gonna show that first episode for all though?

I'm reading through Bloodline at the moment while I'm on this road trip and I am really enjoying it. Maybe it's because I'm currently wrapped up in politics because it is an election year but I really like learning more about the Senate, the different factions forming, the small little details that they give to you without fully delving into it. The author has a very strong sense of Leia, I can really feel her voice through the tone.

I liked that the Centrists and Populists had their own different sub-factions and weren't analogues to modern US parties. Now if only they'd add some space socialists since Star Wars politics pretty much always revolve around liberals and fascists in one way or another...

Up until I'd just earned a trophy called 'Don't let these dogs scare you' in Lego TFA, I'd always thought Poe says 'thugs' instead when they arrive at Takodana. At least that's what it says in the script. You learn something new every day.

Maybe the achievement/trophy titles was just a bit of overly safe self-censorship on TT's part, considering the politics around the word "thug"? Just watched the scene and he definitely says "thugs", and the captions back it up.

Great to hear! Will definitely buy it tomorrow.

I thought that might be the case until I read Pablo Hidalgo's tweet about it. It does actually say 'dogs' in the script as well. I prefer 'thugs' anyway. Watching the scene again it definitely sounds like it.

Is the first book as bad as a lot of people told me? And do I need to read it to understand aftermath: life debts?

You probably need to read the original first as it acts as an introduction to the new characters. It is the second book of a trilogy after all. Aftermath's not my favourite of the books and I did find it a bit underwhelming, but I wouldn't say it was bad.

Aftermath was an incredibly confusing book. It was disjointed and made me question my reading comprehension skills. I thought I was missing information or not paying close enough attention to the pages, but it turns out that it was really just kind of not good.

With that said, bring on Life Debt I need more Star Wars.

I just couldn't get into the writing style and how jumpy it was, maybe I'll finish it someday. Going to start Lost Stars then buy Bloodlines when im done. Looking forward to that Ashoka book that's coming out as well. Star Wars!

Lego Force Awakens is really fun, only at Chapter 1 but enjoying it nonetheless. The amount of characters to unlock is crazy though lol
