I think broken fiction was referring to the hammerhead

Yep. Hammerhead.

Good episode.

Sabine has the mutha effin DARKSABER YOOOOOOOO!

Soooo if Maul/Kenobi have a showdown it has some pretty huge implications in terms of what they could do in a live action Kenobi film/duology/trilogy featuring McGregor. It just wouldn't have the same impact if they fight again in those film(s) if they have already faced off in Rebels. Really sucks the drama out of the situation. So for that reason, I think that if they do actually go that route in the show, the Kenobi films will be about something very different. And, that probably does make the most sense... For the live action viewers, Maul is gone. If he returns in a feature film it's going to seem strange. It's business that is maybe best handled in the animated shows.

In all, S03E10 was one of the better Thrawn episodes and S03E11 was probably the best episode since the holocron episode, imo.

If they do get around to a
Kenobi film, they should just base it on the Legends novel.

Lmao. Totally forgot about that. Wonder how they will explain that. I don't see them reaching Kenobi.

Unless they DO find him and that's how Leia knows he's on Tattooine.

I don't think them finding Kenobi creates a plot hole, I think it SOLVES one.

good stuff

Recon is out, end gives teases to waht we can expect in the new year

Nice. Pablo mentions that the back half of the season was created with the knowledge it would come out post Rogue One and thus will address elements from it.

Good episode. The Satine stained glass window in Maul's hideout was a nice touch.

Oh, and what's the deal with the Bendu? Is he just trying to stay out of things or has he turned?

^^ I'm letting myself get more and more convinced that that is indeed the Ghost. Just give me some background comm chatter of Hera during the space battle and I will be satisfied.

It's a real shame Asoka isn't around to findout about Obi-Wan being alive. :(

Would have been nice to see them reunite. Bail never told her that he was alive. (unless he did further after the book)

To me it depends on how they play it. Potentionally it could feel like it creates a plothole, but depending on how they and the story group handle it it could also explain a few of the mysterys from the original trilogy that pop-up with Rebels in the timeline and make it seem more consistent if anything.

I trust them to do the latter.

Apparently the Mandalorian said Kenobi aswell.
I kept hoping to catch a glimpse of Mother Talzin or Asaaj among the ghosts, but it never happened.
Yeah I was waiting for that to happen aswell. Would have been a nice way to bring them back one more time for a littlebit even though they're dead.

These last two episodes have been great, hopefully the show keeps it up in the new year.

So just more Maul and Thrawn please.

I finally caught up, loved the last two episodes. I hope we get an episode with the the Ersos or at least Saw Gerrera with Whitaker's appearance.

A real shame the Dathomirians (Mauls people) and Geonosians are seemingly wiped out. Empire on genocide mode.

So much this. But I guess that would be too much of a good thing and ruin pacing :(

The Empire seems to have wiped out the Geonosians, but the Nightsisters and Nightbrothers were wiped out by the Separatists.

So, thoughts on the Bendu's voice going all...Dark? And baiting them to Maul?

Still trying to balance the force by bringing them together? Or did Maul gain influence?

I thought Maul said it was the Empire due to the power they wielded. Still a shame.

He said they were wiped out because their power was a threat to the Empire. Which is true. Sidious wanted them gone, and had Dooku et al deal with them, and then finally got rid of Talzin in SoD. Just because the Empire itself didn't exist yet doesn't matter, this is Palpy master of the long game, getting rid of problems while they are still small.

I hope they actually participated in the Scarif battle and it's not just an easter egg insert nod like the Outrider.

Would be kinda spoiler then though if we know the Rebel crew is still around up to ANH.

Also kind of a hole to have so many Jedi running around at the time it still feels.

Kanan, Ezra and Ahsoka don't exactly count as Jedi, though. Kanan and Ahsoka are close, but they didn't graduate. I mean, Ahsoka dropped out, and the school burned down around Kanan.

Hell, Luke is kinda questionable too, but I guess if Yoda and Obi Wan say you're a Jedi, you're a Jedi.

Kanan is 100% a Jedi. He was knighted by the Force itself in the apparition of the Inquisitor!

Ezra you can make an argument about but I'd rather he be dead or following some other path by the time RotJ rolls around.

Kanan's been knighted but it seems like he is moving toward Bendu's philosophy (assuming Bendu himself hasn't turned, the thing with Maul was weird).

Kanan won't make it out of Rebels. I think he's gone this season or next, if there's another.

I suspect they'll write Sabine out as well, it seems like they have plans for her to be take on a role in Imperial, Post-Imperial Mandalorian storylines.

I could see them incorporating a Rogue One character into the main team. Maybe Wedge even, on load from Dodanna. I do expect the show to shift considerably after Season 3, as we inch closer and closer into ANH/Rogue One's time period.

That said, I think Rebels has maybe one season left in it. The Maul storylines probably wraps this season and I think Thrawn survives another season. We know that his plan to draw out the larger Rebel cause will ultimately fail because, well, Episodes 4-6 happen. I do think they'll give Thrawn a victory at the end of Season 3 to have him fail in Season 4.

On Rebels Recon, it seems they're working some Rogue One stuff into the next half of Season 3, super curious.

And the seemingly inevitable appearance of
Obi-Wan
in Season 3 raises an interesting question:
If the rumors that Obi-Wan and the Kenobi name plays a role in the Sequel Trilogy are true, and they appear to be, the appearance of Obi-Wan in Rebels must be completely intentional.
Stay tuned for mind bombs.

there will be no major victories before the battle of Scariff as per the Opening Crawl of ANH, keep that in mind.

Not necessarily. The crawl said that rebel spaceships striking from a hidden base had won their first victory against the Empire. Not that it was the first major victory for any cell or the Alliance.

Last episode would've been so much better without the ghosts, that part was a bit silly.

Its been long enough so he should be
Old Ben
at this point right? Will be interesting to see how they depict him especially if he has to stay on that planet.

"Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire."

i feel the comma would give emphasis that it was not specifically Rebel spachships from a hidden base, but Rebel Spaceships, as if it were the Rebel alliance as a whole doing the mission, which it seems to be, striking from their hidden base, which i would assume to be Yavin IV, before it is named.

I'm curious to hear James Arnold Taylor do Old Obi's voice. I don't think he's done it yet.

Makes sense though, given the place that they were in. Did you watch the Nightsister episodes of TCW?

I'm not sure who did it, but whoever played old Obi-Wan in Disney Infinity 3.0 did a pretty good Alec Guiness voice impression.

A bit of info on the upcoming episodes in January - thankfully a very short break. I don't think there's anything too spoilery in here:

http://comicbook.com/2016/12/14/star-wars-rebels-2017-premiere-date-possible-rogue-one-connectio/

The second half of the season will launch on January 7, 2017, and with a special hour long two-episode mid-season premiere. Ghosts of Geonosis parts one and two will air back-to-back that day, Star Wars News Net reports, with new episodes also confirmed for January 14 and January 21. The two-parter was screened during the Rogue One press screening for "Mommy Bloggers," and sounds like it should have significant ties to Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and possibly to othere canon stories like Catalyst, the Rogue One prequel novel, and the Darth Vader comic book, all of which have dealt significantly with Geonosis.

For those unaware, Geonosis was the initial construction site of the Death Star, which started design and construction during the Clone Wars. With Rogue One's plot circling the Death Star, it suddenly makes these two episodes sound very intriguing. The synopses for the two parter read:

"Ghosts of Geonosis – PART 1: The crew returns to Geonosis in search of a missing rebel team sent to investigate suspicious activity there, and are surprised by what they find.

Ghosts of Geonosis – PART 2: After finding a missing rebel team member, the Ghost crew discovers another surprise on Geonosis, and work to conceal it from Imperial forces."

The next two episodes after "Ghosts" are titled "Warhead" and "Trials of the Darksaber." It sure sounds like they're going full speed ahead on heavy plot and mythology based episodes, then. The Darksaber, of course, returned to its rightful owner, as Sabine Wren is of the Clan Viszla family of Mandalorians, so that episode should see a push forward on that particular tale.
