Why do we do this every single time lol
I'll say that I think the dialogue seems fitting for these certain characters and situations. That's what I get from it. I don't get that it's bad, perhaps some stiff deliveries but as you said context can make a difference. Also how they cut it and pluck it from the movie makes an impact.
That being said, it's always the same song and dance with trailers. "Dialogue wasn't great but could work better in context. Some CGI looks rough but they're obviously still working on it." I basically watch trailers to get an idea of what I can expect from the film, and it mostly focused on the locations, action, more character interaction, etc. I don't really put everything under a microscope from a movie that has four more months of CG improvement, line delivery/take choices, etc. And as usual, some of this stuff won't even be in the movie.
It's fair game to criticize what's given and I'm not against that, but it seems... fine to me? It's certainly not too different from what you get out of the performances in this series and it's definitely better than the writing/deliveries in the prequels. I'm just saying it's funny how every trailer thread is just the same conversation on a spool.
With trailers, unless the writing and acting is legitimately terrible, I don't pay much attention to that and just rather take it as a whole instead of criticizing writing/acting that just seems mostly okay rather than outright bad as again, much of that is subject to change and I don't take it as gospel. This is how most trailers go.
