No invite.

And I was an awesome beta tester last weekend.

I answered every damn survey that popped up every 5 minutes while I was playing.

Making a sexy female BH at launch... it seems like a popular choice huh?

Man, I'm still wondering if I should do a bad girl BH or a Mako loving BH male.

I think I'll just make the girl and romance Mako when I have my main and romance Vette.

So I'm so stoked for this game and Pre ordered it at Gametsop because I had credit, I grilled the girl who rang me up, actually remembered working with me like 5 years ago, anyways she said the preorder bonus and early access codes come via email.

Don't know if this is true of just GS BS anyone know anymore about this? because I have no qualms about reserving that crap on amazon and moving my preoder money over to my Diablo 3 LE

Did anyone get a chance to roll with a Guardian/Juggernaut in pvp? If so how was it? I played a sentinel and an assassin, but never had enough time to level up the other one. Curious how it matched up in pvp.

I did a juggernaut in PVP. Wasn't really unkillable and wasn't too useful other than doing that frost snare skill. Always ended up in the middle of the pack because I can't really kill anyone at 25.

Oh man, Last weekend I was strapped for cash and I sold all my gear on my Sniper to buy tokens for the cantina jukebox so that everyone in my instance could have a naked dance party as the servers wound down. Now what am I going to do?

Invited for friday this time, feels good.

I'd make sure to contact CS immediately to find out as some people were rambling on the forums that GS was out of early access codes, and just Best Buy (who emails the codes at their leisure apparently), Amazon, and Origin still have Early Access. Which is stupid how they're handling it I think. Those who blindly pre-ordered the game and entered codes early will get 5 days, and those that enter codes now probably get 2-3 days tops. Sucks, unfair that they're staggering things like this.

We just changed our Guild over to Empire tonight, which I'm leery about queues when live as I feel there's going to be a lot of Empire players out there and not nearly as many Republic, so getting into bg's outside of Huttball is going to be tedious.

Not to be negative, but is anyone else a bit worried that the game wont be ready for launch? I am mainly refering to the continued issues like the texture one, the fact that AA was removed on the latest build etc. I mean, early access starts in 15 days and that is not alot of time left.

I still have my CE on pre-order, actually 3 of them since I am giving 2 as X-Mas gifts to friends, but still, with all the issues I am hearing about in this latest "newest" build, it a bit worrying if they have time to fix some of the issues.

Like any MMO, patches and updates will be constant, but some basic stuff like AA or the texture issue are things that need/must be ready by early access.

Every product launches with bugs. These are little flaws, and they'll most likely get worked out over time. There's so much more to the game than just a few minor technical issues. The thing is - none of the issues that you're talking about are showstoppers. Sure they kind of suck, and yes the game is going to get knocked for them by both the quick to judge and even by critics. People who claim their dislike of the game over these few issues probably didn't like it all that much in the first place. The game genuinely is not going to be for everyone, for reasons both legitimate and not.

At some point, you have to push the game out the door. This isn't an FFXIV situation.

As for AA, it's been disabled for the entire 6 months I've been in beta, so it's not like they just pulled it out at the last second.

Graphical options are the least of any MMO developer's worries when launching an MMO. Having a polished game full of content from 1-level cap and beyond is paramount, not AA or some better textures. Nothing will kill an MMO faster than bugs, janky gameplay systems, and lack of content.

Agree with what you are saying, I guess because I loved what I played in the beta for a few days, I want some of the graphical issues worked out for launch. For me, the biggest issue visually was the pop-up/pop-in of distant objects like trees and stuff. I wish there was a way to dedicate more memory if you have more memory in video ram. AA etc. I was able to force by changing one of the files.

I am not a hardcore MMO player, really did not get into WoW, but did play alot of Rift and enjoyed and still enjoy it. WHen I played the SW Beta, I feel in love with the game. Even with some of the tech issues, I still enjoyed the game. It just would be nice to have some of these little issues worked out before launch.

Best advice? Bug report it. They can't catch everything all the time, but if you make it known to them, you'll be helping make the game better. Sure you can say it's not your job, but honestly, if I plan on buying a game, I would help make it the best game I can before it releases.

Also internal builds always run ahead of what the players get.

Done and Done my friend. I am firm beleiver in helping out as a user and reporting issues as I see them. Even during my short 3 day beta test period last weekend, where I only got in a total of about 12 hours of game time, I must have reported at least 15 different things I saw. I am one of those gamers that if I really enjoy the game, I report as much as I can so that they may see it and try to fix it. Alot of my issues are on the visual side, pop-in, aa settings, texture issues, frame rate etc.

I wonder if the internal build is more ahaed of the one that just got pushed out for the upcoming beta test?

Got an invite email again this week, but the site hasn't updated the schedule which I hope doesn't mean anything.

I don't know why... But I got the feeling.. FUCK YEAH MORE TESTING... :p

Wouldn't mind doing some more testing, altho I will have the game in 13 days anyway I suppose with the early start so it's not a major kick in the nuts if I don't get asked.

Rockjaw stated that it wouldn't be shown on the tester page if you got in.

Also you can download the client from tester page, just make sure you're not logged in. Atleast allowed me to download yesterday for my laptop.

I found the setup file for the downloader (thank god), if anyone needs it I can upload it for you somewhere.
I'm patching as we speak. Getting ready for another weekend of TOR! Though this will one be a lot less hardcore, since I've got a lot less time on my hands.

I got invited to test this weekend too.

I suppose it's either random or because I told them in the survey that their game sucked.

Woo, awesome!
Also with the builds, you can bet they're probably a few builds ahead of whatever is live right now(not to mention they're probably going through many of them as they ramp up to launch) (as to what that means to them is anyone's guess though. The WoW team did some interviews about those kinds of things that are very informative and probably very relevant to how all studios run MMOs). That gap will widen when it releases though, and they get out of the post-launch shit-storm that happens for the first 3 months.

Wasn't there a tweet from someone saying this upcoming final beta is the one that will keep our characters for retail? Any confirmation?

That's a very strange rumor about no AA when the option was in there last build, but greyed out. Odd.

The engine possibly doesn't support it but doesn't mean it can't be added to the engine. They likely have been attempting to get it patched into the engine for some time now and failing at it in some form.... maybe they gave up on trying.

I know I'm late to this conversation, but you're telling be that Spike Spiegel is NOT the voice of the male bounty hunter? I was absolutely convinced. Wow.

The beta never had AA. Ever. The rumor is that the HeroEngine doesn't support it.

Some of the official screens and videos definitely look like its on though. Infact, they all look better the last weekend's beta did. (Until I forced AA. Then it looked great, bar the low res textures).

The engine does support it...you can either turn it on in the INI or force it in your drivers.

More than likely they're disabling it so people don't complain about poor performance when maxing the game out. AA is a pretty big performance hog in this game.

Yeah, there's no justice. I told them I fucking hated the game in their survey (though I did so eloquently) and I got another invite.

But what I really want, an invite for the DIII beta, I still haven't gotten.

Thye can probably patch that back in at anytime...I can't believe a game like this,in 2011 will launch without any options to use AA,I mean c'mon, those jaggies in some area's look like PS2 jaggies... :p

They were supposedly working on it so the option is in there but hidden probably because of those performance hits. Also some who forced it in the INI were having troubles with the game when they did so, so yea it might not be perfected.

WAR was another big MMO that launched without AA, it was really odd. Forcing it on of course was an option at least

I want better textures first and AA next.

I don't understand why people thing this isn't already going to happen first.
The textures is the last thing they are going to fix or allow in this better, they are leaving that for retail.
It's no point in doing it for beta IMO

Why make shit texture for everything and then redo all textures?
Textures will stay shit since they want to mimic WoW

Moaradin

The high res textures are fine. They are just bugged right now and switched up. The low res setting shows high res textures and the high res setting shows low res textures.

you do realize that is %100 wrong. Every freaking MMO someone says this and it is NEVER TRUE. what you see is what you're going to get
