It's so stupid that i get 30 free days and cant play until I add a subscription...I normally would throw my CC in and play, but with every MMO getting hacked i just gotta wait to play until i can get a game card

Hey anyone know if you can gift through Origin, specifically to people in other regions?

I would like to get TOR but I don't think it will ever come out on the Origin Japan store. If you can gift like you do through Steam I could probably get my brother or someone to gift it.

Every credit card has fraud protection just dont use a bank card and you are 100% safe if you check transactions.

About to hit level 24, 36k in the bank... shouldn't have a problem hitting 40k to get my speeder training on. I have the next week off of work, too! Time to get my SWTOR on.

So this is weird. I've got a Coruscant Commendation item stuck in my inventory and I can't sell or do anything about it. Tried dragging it into the "currencies" section but no joy.

Anyone else get this?

Hey folks, as you may likely have seen in the last 24 hours, we've been redoubling our efforts in optimally managing the time it takes to get into Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.

The BioWare Live Team has been carefully watching the influx of players into the game and is addressing with surgical precision the longer wait times on the small number of servers that were having longer wait times previously. We've also being doing our best to get every little bit of possible performance on our servers to increase capacity: we’ve “turned them up to 11” to do our very best to get you in and playing as quickly as possible. As a result - you should now be seeing significant improvement versus waiting times at the end of last week.

We're also addressing the concerns about losing your place in line if you happen to disconnect for some reason before getting into the game. We've been working very hard on this and are performing final testing on potential solutions.

Thanks for your patience and we really appreciate your enthusiasm for Star Wars: The Old Republic. We’re absolutely dedicated to ensuring you have a great experience both inside and outside the game.

I hope so, commander... for your sake. The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am.

I noticed some of the changes last night, I got disconnected and was able to log right back in and start playing, where as the day before I would have been queued again

Also been less than 10min wait the past 2 days on The Harbinger despite it saying FULL or VERY HEAVY

Overall been very pleased with launch week, played more than I did on some of the most recent MMO's so that is always a plus

Also, how do I get training for different weapons? Is that something I do or something that is handled by levelling up? Playing a Sage and want to go for a double lightsaber.

You can remove ur subscription and delete ur cc information after uve signed up, thats what I did,

would probably like a hook in his jaw for that matter

I had that same thing. Once I got my ship, I just put in storage.

If you choose Jedi Shadow I think you automatically get the ability to use double lightsaber. You cant use double lightsabers as a Sage.

I just got the level 14 sprint speed upgrade...I feel like a new man. I haven't played this game as much as some, but I'm still really enjoying it.

I've had that happen several times with other commendations... I just tried destroying one of them and my commendation currency number didn't go down and stayed the same. But I'm not sure if it ever went up when I got the commendation.

Logged in today in a really bugged state. Sith Inquisitor spoilers below.

I have a personal holocom message and when I click on it, the cutscene with Lord Anathemos' assassins plays out in hologram form in my hand. Complete with the dialogue options. Choosing to kill him sends my lightsaber through the hologram. Further, I somehow have the quest 'Laying the Trap' again despite already having Ashara as my companion

Taral V + Maelstrom Prison Flashpoints (Jedi Prisoner Storyline) = FREAKING AWESOME. The KOTOR fan in me was so pleasantly surprised. :)

That was epic. I really didn't think we were going to finish going into Maelstrom being a bit underleveled. Heroic kiting and line of sight exploiting on your part, my friend. :)

This game seriously needs a better LFG system. I look on the who window and click the LFG box and all I see is a list. Nobody has a note or anything. Am I supposed to go down the list and ask all of them if they want to do Hammer Station? If I want to do a flashpoint right now the best I can do is hang around the space fleet spamming general hoping 4 of the 30 people there want to do the same instance I do and there's a tank and healer among them. This sucks.

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
Because it makes no sense at all to walk around in the outfit in the screenshot quoted when going into combat and doing what players do in the game. It does nothing but objectifying women as a sexual object for the male player and its really quite embarrassing to look at if you are a normal adult male.

Normal adult males love sexy women. Most women like looking sexy. My girlfriend has never once complained that something she was wearing in an MMO was too "sexy". If anything I've only ever heard her complain that something looked too frumpy. We're both in our late 30s and quite normal, thanks.

It's fantasy, it's a game.

Ugh if the queue is over 300 on the server my friends picked at noon cst on a Friday, I can't wait to see what they are at primetime on the weekend.

Game is pretty cool so far ;)
The voice-acting stuff really IS quite the pillar for the game to stand on, I feel like I actually give a shit about what I am doing.

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
Is it at all possible to have two instances of a game running at once, on the same computer?

I'd seriously consider buying another copy if I could; as since there's no level requirement for slicing (after getting it), I'd think it be wise to have a character in the background slicing constantly while I play, but that wouldn't spend a dime.

Slicing is gonna get nerfed, no doubt. But if I could save up $500K credits or something in the next month on a second character, I think that'd be worth it.

corsucant, now nar shaddar...... is all their is are city zones? gets old

Just wait till you get to Tatooine. That place has some very wide open areas and is just absurdly huge. Even with a speeder it can take a while to get around on that map. The problem is that they decided to put the big 3 city areas of the Old Republic right next to each other (The 3rd being the decayed ruins of Taris, which was very similar to Nar Shaddar and Coruscant before it got destroyed.) Each planet is very different and is based on the lore of the universe, you just happened to hit like all the lore has in terms of large cities right at the start lol.

Went ahead and completed that "Cutscene" and now not only do I still have the option to repeat it, but I also have the next (also already completed) quest now. Not sure what to do

A few things...

There is no level requirement to get slicing, you can get it at level 1 but your alt will probably only have 1 companion which isn't very efficient. It would make more sense for you to just advance your main until you have another companion unless you plan to level your alt too, or you already have all the companions on your main.

I really don't see a huge nerf to slicing coming. The only thing that really needs to change is the lack of a crew skill cap tied to your character level. This problem is really evident with slicing, when you're getting level 50 boxes at level 15 but in the future it will be just as much of a problem with all of the crew skills when the high level goods from other skills are valuable as well.

Slicing is not OP. Slicing is temporarily a lucrative skill because everyone is still leveling and not buying crafting mats or equipment for twinks. In a month, mats from foraging skills will be selling on the AH for significantly more than what you get from slicing. And with the inflation that happens in every MMO, slicing will still be providing the same amount of credits while all other skills will see a higher return. I think rather than getting nerfed, slicing will eventually have to be buffed.

I'm already making more from UT metals.

I'm actually kind of surprised the lockboxes don't have level requirements on them. Most of the other boxes similar to it need a certain level to even open them.

Edit: As for slicing, I got enough credits to get my speeder license and about 200k credits and then I promptly switched over to Underground Market. Its only use right now is 'free' credits and only if you keep working on it constantly (Updating your crew after each time it completes a task, the tasks get longer and longer as you get higher). I went the market route because its the only way currently to get material for my Tier 2-3 mods in cybertech, and that is where both the real money, and the real advancement for my character is going to come from in the near future.
