Yeah, that's a change to the low-level shitty boxes that spit out green gear. No changes were made to the Champion Bags (I used boxes incorrectly), which are currently a horrific grind. At this rate I'll need another 72,000 Warzone Commendations before I get my full Champion set. By then I'll be rank 65 and then some. :|

At least Warzones are a joke, I guess.

Level 50? Of course it is..

I did the Black Talon last night with a random person, pretty much the first time I've done something like that in any game. It was pretty rad. Story and presentation were cool too. I really like the way it handled conversations, however I have no idea what the points by our names meant.
Basically a dice roll to see who's choice will be picked in the conversation.

I put up similar numbers in the 20's, 30's, and 40's as well.

This is on both sides. Any coordinated group of 3 or 4 people will absolutely dominate every warzone; you shouldn't even be surprised because this was often the case in WoW battlegrounds.
Never played WoW past vanilla, and never dabbled in the PvP while I was there. I expected to do alright, as I'm no stranger to MMOs, but I never expected it to be wholesale slaughter.

Any news on server switching?

I have a level 12 guy though so it's not like I'm too far in. But I'd prefer not replaying all that shit again :/

The lack of a lot features is mind boggling to me.

Bioware's essentially copied and refined every aspect of WoW's seven year old template, and yet can't bother with incorporating things like target-of-target, combat logs, and dual-specs at launch.

What do you mean by Dual-Spec?

so i am going to get the game, but since i havent done alot of research on the game i dont understand a few things so here are some questions.

1.so i notice a good handful of classes can heal but are they all effective healers?

2. is this game essentially a single -player adventure with some group play thrown in here and there (ex:flashpoints, warzones)?

3.since i know i will probably only play this until gw2 comes out i want to play this game for the story elements, so i keep reading on here that the imperial agent is the best, but the class itself doesnt sound appealing to me. how good is the bounty hunter (mercenary) storyline and gameplay?

thanks in advance my friends hoping to join you guys soon.

1) They heal differently, but I've not heard many complaints about their effectiveness. If there's any disparity between them it seems to be rather small. Boils down to the type of healing that you'd enjoy.

2) You can play it that way for sure. Many people probably do. Personally I've found it to be an awesome game to play as a duo. You can do a large portion of the content and the social interactions in dialogue sequences can be fun.

3) I'm only in my early teens on both characters, but I'm happy with both storylines. The Agent certainly has more nuance to it, and I'd say it's probably the better story. The BH, however, has (in my opinion of course) such a far superior first companion that it more than makes up the difference. It does a good job of making you seem like a dude out against everyone else rather than someone running between missions for his various masters. It's certainly worth a shot.

Edit: Also, man is DK superior in nearly every way to Coruscant. More compact, better quests and some outside stuff to spruce up the place. Plus more of an emphasis on single, stronger monsters rather than packs of wimps.

hey thanks for the reply, ok so if me and my friend both play together he can experience my storyline at the same time will it effect his personal story? what about if we both play the same class we can complete the exact same quest chains correct?

oh and about healing again i was watching commando healing which looked like a fun class but no he just stands there....it seemed boring but i could be wrong. anywhere i can read a good impressions of each class?

You can either do the personal storylines in sort of "spectator mode" or, if you turn on an option, he can play along, though not really influence much I believe. I'm not entirely sure on the latter as my girlfriend and I don't have that option on. All of the non-personal stuff you can absolutely do together.

Maybe check the official forums? The Operative/Scoundrel seem to heal more with HoTs, so they might have some extra time to do other things while those are running. The only healer I've really played is a Sage, who is basically your prototype "magic" healer from other games.

For some conversations you can just watch but you get the XP share and can help them reach their goals. It would be more fluid if they let you watch all the conversations but some due to class you will just sit watching the talk bubble

I helped my brother due most of Coruscant this way

Has anybody else come across a helmet that affects the sound of your character's voice in conversations?

I did and I thought my audio was really screwed up since it sounded like my Assassin was speaking through a tinny old speaker. Took the helm off an she was normal again. Then I thought it was pretty cool :)

It's that cyber talk that some helms provide. The ones that are beneath the jawline and around the neck. It's pretty cool.

1. Yes, even if you don't go full healing spec. I was with a buddy doing a 4 person Flashpoint last night, and neither of us are healers but we two-manned it with companions and our basic heals. Healing is effective no matter which class, you just have to pick which style you like most.

2. It can be played single player - you always have a companion with you so you don't need other players for the basic storyline and quests. It's up to you to decide how to play.

3. BH storyline is pretty boring imo - level 34 Merc here, and it's starting to pick up but Chapter 1 wasn't compelling whatsoever to me. However I do like the direction it's going now so who knows. Gameplay is a similar situation - doesn't pick up until you start diving into your talent tree. So far I enjoy it but I'm still figuring out how to handle all my abilities and developing my bread and butter combos. It's great being able to dish out a ton of pain, but also cc and heal when things get rough. First companion is awesome too.

My buddy plays an IA and says the story is pretty cool. From what I've seen he is like James Bond of space.

Just hit a queue on KV for the first time in awhile. Oh well.

Anyone else playing Juggernaut/Guardian? I just got to 16 and the class is so much more fun since I got Soresu and a few defensive talents. before that things were feeling a little dicey.

So... how do I get into the gaf guild?

Is there a way to search for people in the guild in game?

/who GAF for Republic
/who The GAF Empire for Empire

Also, is there anything I can change in the .ini to fix my fps drop in indoor areas? I mean if there's like a fucking reactor emitting pulses or anything I have to target the enemy and look at the ground. I know I'm treading on the lowest if specs, but I just don't see how the indoor areas kill it so bad. If anyone has any links or anything (I couldn't find anything with a good answer), I would appreciate it.

Do you have shadows turned all the way off? The bug is related to having shadows enabled on some cards from what I've read.

I found an awesome looking one early on for my Sniper. She looked really sinister with it and i loved hearing her voice modified in cutscenes. I held onto it for as long as possible, but it wasn't moddable so I finally had to get rid of it. The helmet I have now is so lame looking by comparison. Hopefully I come across a worthy replacement soon.

Yeah. Missions skills (at least treasure hunting) are a waste of time and money. It's easy enough to buy the armors they would provide from the AH. Just selling my crafting yields quickly at a vendor is provide decent enough money. Are the prices that are set automatically when selling at the AH a good number to go with?

Ive run across two so far. One was a jawline helm that made my voice sound more like a cyborg and another helm that covered my entire head and face. The full helm my voice sound muffled with a little cyborg thrown in.

BH story is so good. SO GOOD. I'm nearly the end of act 1 and just did a great mission.

Are Act 2 and 3 as big as act 1? If so, holy shit.

I've read from a few people that Act 2 starts to pick up for BH, but this is supposed to be true for the other classes too.

Chilling around Tatoinne, I missed the bonus quests in Nar Shadda, since I couldn't find/pick it up. Sith Inquisitor seems to be building up to something big once I get the last artifact.

Being tempted to make my Imperial Agent Chiss alt, but I'm resisting that urge.

Shit gets pretty real for Imperial Agents in Act Two in some pretty astounding and out there ways.

After playing through Tatooine, I think a game solely based on you working for the Imperial Reclamation Service would be awesome. Treasure/artifact hunters, historians, scholars, and military/Sith escorts.

lol. I haven't run into many bugs, but I'm pretty sure I just ran into the best one. Somehow my Mercenary got stuck in the rapid shots animation no matter what I did. After running around for a minute, weapons crossed and sideways spraying blaster shots everywhere, decided I would probably need to camp to correct it. Oh well.

It's basically hunting people down but you know, being a BH that makes sense but the companions are good and tatooine and Alderaan have some great bits in it. Chasing down the devonian, meeting with the really snobby nobles of Alderaan and pissing them off, it's fun. There are some GREAT cutscenes too. It might not be as tightly packed with the Empire stuff though because technically, my guy isn't part of the Empire but just does jobs for them.

Along with the Smuggler it's definitely the easiest class for me to follow my gut with on dialogue choices. As much as I try to play my Juggernaut as a rational, not entirely evil guy, I always feel like it's a little out of place to not just sword some dude down at every opportunity. On my Merc I can do whatever the hell I want to and feel fine with it. Plus, man is Mako's voice sexy.

I'm quite worried that end game content will end up being entirely uncompelling, even though it's going to take me a while to hit 50.

After a few days of deciding between SI and IA, I went IA, made an Operative. Lvl 14 now, going 31 points in Medic, so far it's great fun. Last time I healed in an MMO was during TBC. So much fun!

I have to say Bioware did a really great job. Sure, the animations are a bit janky, AH system is terrible, but voiced quests + crafting system + companions make up for that.

Tell me raid bosses don't have 20 abilities and are killed rather easily? I would so HATE for this to turn into WoW.

This happens quite often if you use unload, so get used to it. I usually just sit down, which takes a while go change the animation to sit, and it doesn't always work. Also, if you loot something that seems to fix it.

I've never seen that Vanilla Ice SWG video before. That was pretty damn awesome. All I remember when I played SWG was the MC Chris Boba Fett video that people always posted on the forum about.
I always liked the Vanilla Ice one he did beforehand more than the Fett one. "Helios Men" was the first done one from that group.

The SWG QA team quickly learned of the various silly vids being made shortly after launch and shared the links across the team.

Looking for some Scoundrel advice: Should I be pursuing Crit or Power? I've been going Power all this time looking for some consistent ways to improve my healing but I'm noticing that the game seems to want to give me quest items as a Scoundrel that have +Crit on them. What are you guys building?

Advice from Imperial Agent Operatives welcome too :)
