Just finished Taris. i loved the look of the place, i loved the KotOR specific lore, and although the planets storyline didnt really grab me at first i ended up being satisfied with it. It was different than the other ones which was good. i enjoyed the teaming up with Thana at the end and am curious to see if shell pop back up around later.

The class quest stuff started off really interesting and although it remained competent throughout the planet it didnt really get exciting until the very end on the ship. The premise of whats going on (besides the really cool thing) is pretty cool. i love feeling like an infiltrator and choosing what i believe would get the most favor with my mark (the stuff on Balmorra was a really good example of this.. sabotaging the mission but making it look like it was just bad luck.. it felt very Burn Notice or Leverage which was good).

Anyway, the end really rocked and i am charged to continue. im halfway to 40 and although another planet awaits i think ill check out what auctions are up for sale and get my 40 PvP gear. i love this game.
Have you done the Foundry flashpoints yet?

Anyone been listening to any swtor podcasts?

I've listened to The Instance Tor Edition. It's been pretty good.

The Instance: TOR Edition - http://theinstance.net/tor/
WoW players talking about TOR. I like this one because I'm a former WoW player playing TOR. :p Scott Johnson's humor is kind of disgusting sometimes though.

Darth Hater - http://www.darthhater.com/podcast
A bit more hardcore than the rest it seems. These guys sound like they were in the beta forever and were talking about raids before the game even launched.

Mos Eisley Radio - http://moseisleyradio.com/category/mos-eisley-radio/
My favorite so far. These guys sound like hardcore Star Wars fans and not just MMO players.

So after the Slicing nerf, do any crafting missions actually get you lockboxes with a decent return? I ran 12 Slicing Class 6 Lockbox missions earlier and gained about 2k credits and a bunch of super common (though purple...) crafting missions.

Got to 30, got Surgical Probe, messed up my comfy healing by adding one extra ability, lol. Nvm, it's going to be great. Then got like 100K EXP doing space missions, almost hit 31. Done with main Tatoine quests, now Bonus Series time.

Can someone give me an advice? I was thinking of dropping Biochem, and getting Slicing. I would have Slicing+Bioanalysis+Diplomacy. I figured Slicing will give me extra credits, and Biochem is not that great of a profession. Thoughts?

No JK and SW changes. Yay!
They buffed Assassins and Shadows though, which seems a little... unnecessary?

Uh...

That would actually be the worst possible decision you could make at this point in time.

Biochem is by far the most useful profession, and Slicing is useless after the nerf.

Not that ive seen. And youve been lucky. Almost all of my missions post-nerf have resulted in a net loss of credits. 1700 to run mission.. 1100 credit boxes or whatever.

And Biochem is basically the profession to have. Reusable medpacs/stims/etc on a 90 second cooldown? Thats basically every other fight. Thats insane.

And i haven run The Foundry yet. Looking forward to it.

I get the occasional good drop from slicing - a 2-4k return on a 1-2k mission. I have it maxed out, and usually only snag that when I have a high affection companion do the mission.

Having an unlocked high level slicing missions almost always gets you a good return if you can find any.

im not going to buy a mission every time i want to run it. Afaik they are one use only so whats the point of spending 10k on a purple mission to get 5k?

And PvP now completely sucks. The 50s have totally ruined it. By the time the 50 bracket comes into play it will be too late. Youll have a legion of people fully geared from the months of cakewalk wins. Whichever side has the most 50s wins. Just saw a level 50 Commando literally solo our entire team and he ended with full health, like 10 commendations, top damage, etc, etc.

Pssht to all your color crystal arguments. This is the weapon of a real Sith.

That uses a color crystal too. I thought about going vibrosword just to be different. There is no disadvantage, right?

I have a very noob'sh question. I am mainly working on building my healer and had a question about the skill tree's. If I invest points in the a different tree will I still get the benefits if I am not using anything else in that tree?

For example, all my skill points have been under the Healing tree, but on the last of my Sith Sorc tree's it has one skill that gives me more Willpower which is beneficial as a healer.

Reason I ask is that I was told in other MMO's that skill points put into one tree dont cross over to other tree's. Not sure if that was accurate or not.

Thanks for any feedback.

Battlemaster Gear Tokens have been converted into Battlemaster Commendations, which can be used to purchase any Battlemaster gear. This allows players to purchase any piece of gear instead of requiring them to purchase the piece indicated by the token.
Battlemaster Bags now contain Battlemaster Commendations instead of Battlemaster Gear Tokens. They still also contain Champion Commendations.

Nice they've done that, but what about champion bags. I now have a duplicate headpiece thanks to RNG. :/

Any skill you pick works. You don't have to use only 1 of the 3 trees.

You still have to invest in that specific tree to unlock higher tiers of it. If you're talking about accessing a skill that's on tier 4, for example, you'll have to have invested 15 points in that specific tree to unlock that tier.

I understand that part. I think what messed me up was Rift in how they do their stuff. Because you can change professions easily is Rift, I was told that investing in different trees that the points you spend can only benefit if you are playing under the title of that tree. I hope I am not confusing anyone...lol.

Color doesn't change if you change the crystal. Yes there are two orange ones from commendation vendors that I know of Empire side (Taris and Voss). No disadvantage at all and I can use all of my abilities. It could bother some people in cutscenes (Because you carry it on your shoulder but cutscenes all assume you're holding a lightsaber at your belt) but the animations look really awesome with the combined blade/flash.

Rift didn't do that. But to answer your question, swtor does not do it either.

PVP is so comically broken in warzones

Queued into a premade 50 (for the other side) died within seconds

exited as I was the highest person on my side at 44, requeued and it insta popped

Not enough enemies and the warzone was cancelled but we were the victors, so I could cash in the daily

I hope every say is like this until I hit 50 as I am no longer able to take pvp seriously until there is a lvl 50 tier

Just finished Act 1 of the Sith Inquisitor story...SO GOOD! There were two pretty good twists, 1 that came out of nowhere and was awesome as well as hilarious. Decent fight as well in terms of difficulty. Can't wait to progress further.

Decided to reroll a Sith Inquisitor after getting my Marauder to level 16. Definitely the most unbalanced, absolute shitty class ever. No CC or AOE abilities, and trying to take on more than 1 mob at a time is just utterly impossible.

Seems Inquisitor is pretty much the only damn class people are bothering to play anyway, which is sad.

Game still needs a lot of work, mainly on making other classes appealing to play.

All of the classes have their advantages at endgame, but yes there are some problems as far as leveling goes.

How far did you play? You get an immobilize at level 2, a 3 second knockdown at level 3, an 8 second CC at level 4, and a 4 second stun at level 6.

Oh, i missed the 3 second stun you get at level 1.

Knight/Warrior has poor ability pacing, iffy companion sets and really could use a few tweaks. I don't think it's actually bad at all though.

Agent/Smuggler and Trooper/Bounty Hunter are fucking great, though, there's no helpin' the tasteless!

Here's the patch notes, btw

What? I don't know about sorcerers but assassins get pretty much every move that Rogues have in WoW. They have their own version of sap which lasts for a minute, they have a vanish-like ability and in the madness tree is death field which is a somewhat effective small range aoe move.

Opinion: Quick Travel should have a return to ship option.

Second opinion: Get the Mass Effect guy to narrate Codex & Planets!

Are there Crew Skills I should be avoiding? I have Treasure Hunting, Diplomacy and ...forgot the third one atm.

I don't know of any you should really avoid, but I wouldn't get 2 unrelated mission skills like treasure hunting and diplomacy. You should probably get a gathering skill that compliments your crafting skill and a mission skill that does as well. If you look in your codex, you'll see what you can get from each skill and what goes with what.

You can always use the teleport to Fleet ability, though you can only use it once a day. You can buy one-time fleet passes as well for 1000 credits.

Not quite the same, but you spawn near the hanger entrances and can get to your ship pretty quickly after.

Well, played 13 matches today and won all of 2 -- not even enough for my daily. Just looked over to find that it didn't credit me with one of those wins. So I basically went 1 and 13.

The 50 bracket will be a step in the right direction, but the fact of the matter is that it won't change much. It was pure luck to be put on a server with such zealous Empire PVP groups while the Republic is so lacking in that regard. So I'm now faced with having to decide between keeping on with my character that I invested 9 days of playtime and playing with the only best GAF guild or actually enjoying the game.

What??? Don't listen to this man!

Go buy it at Target, Best Buy or Amazon if you want to buy online.
I haven't seen any specials other than Amazon that had it at $52 the other day for a short while.

Now go get it!!!
