With patch 2.1, they are nerfing the mule by adding mineral patches a couple of yards away from the command center. This only happens if you choose terran.

Ok WTF is this? I'm seriously scared for Prime. Byun did not play his 2nd match after the bye. Eins lost to Terminator so that was alright. Jila lost to Coca and almost won vs Rare.

But where the hell is Creator Prime?

There is not a single Prime player beyond the qualifiers..... This makes me extremely sad. Why the hell isn't Creator in Code A if not S?

TerrOR as well. Along with Remember and Splendid.....

MKP please come back! No more WCS BS to hold you back and Code S is not trapped behind seasons anymore. Meaning you don't have to wait to get into Code S.

My guess is that we'll see Creator in the afternoon session. Really hoping he makes it because at the very least he's a Code A caliber player.

As for ByuN, yeah that's perplexing that he didn't even show after apparently putting his name in? Could be contemplating retirement... which would be a shame since both MKP and Maru are gone. This would be a really nice opportunity for him to show some that he can still hang with the best by putting up some results in SPL.

As for the rest of Prime... Remember, DeParture, SalvatioN, and TerrOr are all there. Crisis averted.

Got my solo hot streak! Steam rolled them all since it was bronze but I still managed to get a good heart rate in my final match against a terran who dropped and hit my exp at the same time in the beginning when I didn't have much army, god bless you mothership core!

Wow, MLG is back in the SCII scene! I think a lot of you guys are really gonna enjoy these details.

MLG Welcomes Back SC2 with MLG GameOn Invitational

I’m happy to announce that we are bringing back StarCraft 2 starting with the MLG GameOn Invitational January 19-26, continuing with additional online competition, and culminating with the MLG Championship in Anaheim, CA from June 20-22. Our activity will kick off with the GameOn Invitational where 16 players from the Americas, including 12 invited players and four players voted in by you, the fans, will compete for $5000. Voting will open on January 13 – see details below.

The background: After taking a close look at the SC2 activity in 2013, we wanted to build something in 2014 that the SC2 community needed and wanted. We all follow the major tournaments in Europe, the team leagues in Korea, and the overarching WCS, but we realized that outside of Shoutcraft America, the Americas have very little in the way of online or offline competition. So we began asking players if they would be interested in Americas-only competition. Not surprisingly, the response was a resounding, unanimous, YES. Next, we reached out to Catz to help organize something great, and we decided to launch with GameOn, an Americas-only competition platform. Lastly, Catz brought Destiny onto the team as our co-caster and we were off and running.

We recognize that in the past we were not as transparent and communicative as we should’ve been. We’ve learned that community interaction and involvement is essential in creating a successful tournament scene. Therefore, in the spirit of transparency, we want you to know that we are operating this Invitational as a test. We intend to use the feedback that you provide throughout this activity to help us design competition for February through May that will ultimately be used to qualify players into Pool Play at the MLG Championship in Anaheim. Full Championship details, including the size of the Open Bracket, are coming soon!

We really want to work towards creating something that is enjoyable to watch, fun for players, and helps to develop talent within the Americas. We’ll be reading and incorporating feedback throughout the planning and execution of this activity. Help us build something great!

I’ve included the breakdown for the MLG GameOn Invitational below. Stay tuned for information and thank you for your support.

MLG GameOn Invitational: January 19-26, 2014

VOTE: January 13-17 – Starting Monday, January 13, visit GameOn’s web site (url will be provided) to vote for your favorite players to take one of the last four spots in the competition. Voting will close at 5 pm EST on Friday, January 17, so make sure you vote every day.

WATCH: January 19-20, 23-26 – The event will be broadcast on www.mlg.tv and embedded on the GameOn site.

FORMAT: The players will begin in WCS-style Group Play (Ro16) with the top two players in each Group advancing to a 2nd Round of Group Play (Ro8). Finally, the top two players in each Ro8 Group will compete in a 4-player single elimination bracket.

PRIZES: 1st place – $4,000; 2nd place – $1,000

VOD: VOD will be uploaded to YouTube after every match.

REPLAYS: Replay files will be released nightly.

CASTERS: The event will be cast by Catz and Destiny along with other guest hosts.

16 PLAYERS: MLG will invite 12 players from the Americas, including eight of the best WCS players, and fan voting will determine the last four players.

This sounds amazing. Sounds like a completely different MLG. It's awesome to see one of the top broadcasting networks push for stronger support in the Americas SCII scene. Glad to have them back!
